Tissue-resident memory (T) T cells have emerged as key players in cancer immunosurveillance, and their presence has been linked to a favorable clinical outcome in solid cancer patients. Liver metastases exhibit a highly immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, however, the role and clinical impact of T cell infiltration in colorectal cancer remain elusive. The expression of several tissue residency and activation biomarkers has been investigated on tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes isolated from 26 patients' colorectal cancer liver metastases (CRC liver metastases) and compared to 16 peripheral blood samples of patients with CRC liver metastases.

Subpial hemorrhage (SPH) is a rare but significant cause of neonatal seizures and respiratory distress, primarily affecting full-term infants without apparent risk factors. We report the case of a full-term newborn who presented with recurrent episodes of apnea, desaturation, and seizures shortly after birth. MRI revealed an acute hemorrhagic collection in the left temporal region, accompanied by cortical cytotoxic edema.

In the tumour microenvironment, IL-1α promotes neoangiogenesis, matrix remodelling, tumour proliferation, chemoresistance, and metastases. Highly expressed in human colorectal cancers, IL-1α is associated with poor prognosis. XB2001, a fully human monoclonal antibody neutralizing IL-1α, was evaluated for safety and preliminary efficacy with trifluridine/tipiracil (FTD/TPI) and bevacizumab in metastatic colorectal cancer patients previously treated with oxaliplatin- and irinotecan-based chemotherapies.

The aim of the study was to identify distinct trajectories of perceived stress and control in athletes across a season of sports competitions and whether these trajectory memberships could be predicted by subdimensions of the emotional intelligence (EI). Latent class growth analyses were performed on a five-stage longitudinal measurement plan (to cover the entire sporting season). Four hundred fifteen athletes answered to the Brief Emotional Intelligence Scale, the Mastery Scale, the Perceived Stress Scale, and the Attainment of Sport Achievement Goal Scale.

Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is a chronic inflammatory vasculitis with a significant impact on vascular and patient health. It may present with non-specific symptoms and can lead to severe complications if not managed effectively. This narrative review explores the treatment of GCA with interleukin-6 (IL-6) pathway inhibitors, focusing on key studies from selected databases published between 2018 and 2024.

Background: Postextubation respiratory failure (PRF) frequently complicates weaning from mechanical ventilation and may increase morbidity/mortality. Noninvasive ventilation (NIV) alternating with high-flow nasal oxygen (HFNO) may prevent PRF.
Methods: Ventilated patients without chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and at high-risk of PRF defined as a lung ultrasound score (LUS) ≥ 14 assessed during the spontaneous breathing trial, were included in a French-Chinese randomised controlled trial.

Background: Trastuzumab emtansine has been recently suspected to be associated with the development of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).
Research Question: Is there an association between trastuzumab, trastuzumab emtansine, or trastuzumab deruxtecan and the development of PAH?.
Study Design And Methods: Characteristics of incident PAH cases treated with trastuzumab, trastuzumab emtansine, or trastuzumab deruxtecan were analyzed from the French PH Registry, the VIGIAPATH program, concurrently with a pharmacovigilance disproportionality analysis using the World Health Organization pharmacovigilance database using a broad definition of pulmonary hypertension (PH) and a narrow definition of PAH.

Wound infections can lead to life-threatening infection and death. Antibacterial materials from biopolymers in the form of films are a promising strategy for wound dressings. Carboxylate-dialdehyde cellulose (CDAC) is a proper candidate for use as an antibacterial material due to its biocompatibility, nontoxicity, and antibacterial property.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have shown great potential as biomarkers since they reflect the physio-pathological status of the producing cell. In the context of cytotoxicity, it has been found that exposing cells to toxicants leads to changes in protein expression and the cargo of the EVs they produce. Here, we studied large extracellular vesicles (lEVs) derived from human microvascular endothelial cells (HMEC-1) to detect the modifications induced by cell exposure to benzo[a]pyrene (B[a]P).

Biliary tract cancer incidence is increasing and the prognostic remains dismal. The development of personalized medicine is a pivotal issue in proposing therapeutic options for biliary tract cancer patients. Whole exome sequencing identifies approximately 15% of mutations and 15% of fusions in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.

Background And Aims: Bevacizumab-based chemotherapy is a recommended first-line treatment for metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). Robust biomarkers with clinical practice applicability have not been identified for patients with this treatment. We aimed to evaluate the prognostic yield of serum mid-infrared spectroscopy (MIRS) on patients receiving first-line bevacizumab-based chemotherapy for mCRC.

Background: The planification of radiation therapy (RT) for pancreatic cancer (PC) requires a dosimetric computed tomography (CT) scan to define the gross tumor volume (GTV). The main objective of this study was to compare the inter-observer variability in RT planning between the arterial and the venous phases following intravenous contrast.
Methods: PANCRINJ was a prospective monocentric study that included twenty patients with non-metastatic PC.

Malaria is an infectious and communicable disease, caused by one or more species of Plasmodium parasites. There are five species of parasites responsible for malaria in humans, of which two, Plasmodium Falciparum and Plasmodium Vivax, are the most dangerous. In Djibouti, the two species of Plasmodium are present in different proportions in the infected population: 77% of P.

Protists, a crucial part of the soil food web, are increasingly acknowledged as significant influencers of nutrient cycling and plant performance in farmlands. While topographical and climatic factors are often considered to drive microbial communities on a continental scale, higher trophic levels like heterotrophic protists also rely on their food sources. In this context, bacterivores have received more attention than fungivores.
