Foam rolling is widespread and deeply rooted in exercise practice. The optimal duration and role of this treatment still lack scientific consensus. A relatively novel foam rolling treatment that combines vibration during application targets different muscle characteristics that are not well understood.

Screening for depression in the Serbian general population sample: an alternative to the traditional patient health questionnaire-9 cut-off score.

Background: The Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) score ≥ 10 balances best sensitivity and specificity when detecting probable depression in patients. In the general population, different cut-offs are suggested. European studies on general populations validating the PHQ-9 against a diagnostic interview to detect depression are rare.

Model for Developing a Health-Related Quality of Life Questionnaire for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

Introduction: The St. George's Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ), Modified Medical Research Council (mMRC) Dyspnea Scale, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), and general health questionnaire (SF-36) are widely used for chronic respiratory diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Aim: We examined the reliability and validity of a modified questionnaire (MQ) to create a model for assessing the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in COPD.

Parametric analysis of the inductively coupled plasma.

A systematic parametric study of an LTE (local thermodynamic equilibrium) mathematical model of pure inductively coupled argon plasma (ICAP) used for spectrochemical purposes was performed by means of computer simulations. The spatial distributions of temperature, gas velocity, magnetic field and energy losses were investigated under typical plasma operating conditions as function of the ICAP geometrical dimensions and dynamic parameters. These theoretical calculations can be used to predict the properties of the applied plasma in the course of practical work, to choose the optimal conditions by changing the operating parameters and to interpret existing analytical results.

[Mechanisms of the effect of interleukin-1 inhibitor activators].

Interleukin-1 (IL-1) has a broad range of effects on physiologic processes, including immunologic phenomena. In maintaining the tissue homeostasis the existence of feed-back mechanisms regulating down the IL-1 activity would be beneficial for the host. We and other investigators have provided evidence that such a regulatory circuit exists and may be altered by agents such as glucocorticoids and as well as by the UV irradiation.
