In this work, the results of instrumentation over 8 years, including the phases of construction, first impounding, and operation, have been used to analyze the location of the Eyvashan Dam settlement. Mohr-Coulomb behavioral model and numerical model of Plaxis 2D software were used to verify the monitoring results. The results demonstrated that settlement of the dam has increased in the dam's core since the beginning of construction, and they eventually stabilized during the operation phase.

The literature has widely recognized the significance of examining the influence of teacher professional identity (TPI), teacher autonomy (TA), and teacher work motivation (TWM) on teacher well-being. However, there is a noticeable gap in the research regarding the role of teacher immunity (TI) and teacher emotion regulation (TER) in TPI, TA, TWM among English as a foreign language (EFL) teachers. In light of this gap, the present study aimed to investigate the association between TI and TER with TPI, TA, and TWM of EFL teachers.

This study sought to investigate the effects of using the mind-mapping technique on Iranian English as a foreign language (EFL) learners' vocabulary recall and retention, learning motivation, and willingness to communicate (WTC). To accomplish this, 98 EFL learners were chosen and homogenized through the Oxford Quick Placement test (OQPT) and divided into a control group (CG) (n = 30) and an experimental group (EG) (n = 30). After that, the chosen students were pretested on vocabulary, learning motivation, and WTC.

This study investigated the effects of friction stir welding thread on the quality of dissimilar joints between AA6068 aluminum alloy and copper. The developed computational fluid dynamic (CFD) method was employed to simulate the tool's heat generation and thermo-mechanical action. The materials flow, microstructure, mechanical properties, and hardness of joints were assessed.

Article Synopsis
  • Invasive mucormycosis is a serious fungal infection that often occurs in diabetic patients, especially those with COVID-19 due to treatment with corticosteroids, leading to higher risks of mortality.
  • A case study in Iran involved a 73-year-old diabetic woman with COVID-19 who developed rhino-orbital mucormycosis after receiving treatment for her lung issues.
  • Histopathology confirmed the presence of the infection, and with timely antifungal treatment, the patient responded well, marking this as the first documented case in Iran related to COVID-19.

As university professors' emotion regulation (ER) plays a pivotal role in their efficacy, it is essential to explore if it is significantly correlated with work engagement (WE), self-efficacy, and anger at the workplace. To respond to the call, this research inspected the contributions of university professors' ER to their WE, self-efficacy, and anger. For this purpose, a total of 278 university professors were selected using a convenience sampling method and asked to fill out Language Teacher Emotion Regulation Inventory, Engaged Teacher Scale, Teacher Sense of Efficacy Scale, and Teacher Anger Scale.

As a toxic anthropogenic pollutant, lead (Pb) can be harmful to both plants and animals. Here, the effects of the application of nitric oxide (NO) donor, sodium nitroprusside (SNP, 0, 50, and 100 μM), on the morphological, biochemical, and molecular responses of rice plants under Pb (0, 150, and 300 μM) toxicity in hydroponic conditions were investigated. Pb stress decreased biomass, photosynthetic pigments, Fv/Fm value, and nitrogen (N) and increased the accumulation of hydrogen peroxide (HO), methylglyoxal (MG), malondialdehyde (MDA), and electrolyte leakage (EL) in rice seedlings.

Although a range of studies has explored the effects of the content and language integrated learning (CLIL) approach on students' achievement, its impact on improving university students' transversal skills (TSs) has remained largely unexplored in Iran. Thus, the present study has a two-fold purpose. First, it aims to investigate the role of the CLIL approach in improving Iranian university students' TSs.

In the literature, a mass of studies have inspected the effects of computer-assisted language learning (CALL) and mobile-assisted language learning (MALL) on Iranian English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners' achievement. However, the effects of CALL and MALL on psychological factors, such as motivation, anxiety, and self-efficacy, have largely remained unexplored. Thus, this study explored the effects of CALL and MALL, and face-to-face (FTF) learning environments on Iranian EFL learners' motivation, anxiety, and self-efficacy.

This study explores the potential of podcasting and blogging in cultivating advanced EFL learners' reading comprehension (RC) gains, as well as their perceptions of their effectiveness in improving their RC gains. For this purpose, three intact female classes (n = 20) were selected using a convenience sampling method from Pooyesh Language Center in Borujerd City, Iran. Then, they were randomly assigned into three groups, including the podcasting group, blogging group, and control group.

One of the popular theories in psychology that potentially contributes to the development of teaching and learning programs is brain dominance. According to this theory, the brain is categorized into two hemispheres based on personal traits and cognitive styles. It is interesting to investigate the correlation between brain dominance and second language learning.

Owing to the limitations of linguistic modes to portray aptly L2 learners' metaphors of language learning experience, growing attention has been paid to taking advantage of other modes like visual ones to ameliorate this concern. Hence, the present study sought to explore images and metaphors Iranian EFL learners may have in mind about the essence of English language as a foreign learning. To this end, Iranian EFL learners' verbal and non-verbal forms of metaphorical depiction were examined.

The food chain contaminated with arsenic (As) has developed a hazardous threat to the growth and development of plants, animals and humans. The present study was conducted to examine the application of iron oxide nanoparticles (FeNPs) on biochemical and molecular traits of roots and leaves of rice plants under As phytotoxicity. The results showed that As reduced the accumulation of Fe in roots and leaves and thus reduced photosynthetic pigments and growth of rice plants.

Methyl jasmonate improved yield of both rice varieties under arsenic toxicity by alleviating oxidative stress through increasing the activity of antioxidant enzymes and decreasing arsenic accumulation by modulating arsenic transporters. Human health and rice cultivation are threatened by arsenic (As) contamination. Methyl jasmonate (MJ), as a regulator of plant growth, plays an important role in response to environmental stresses.
