Heterogeneous NASICON-Type Cathode With Reversible Multielectron Reaction for High-Performance Sodium-Ion Batteries.

Adv Mater

September 2024

Hunan Provincial Key Laboratory of Chemical Power Sources, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Central South University, Changsha, 410083, P. R. China.

Na superionic conductor (NASICON)-structured compounds demonstrate great application potential by their robust framework and compositional diversity. However, they are blamed for the mediocre energy density, and achieving both multielectron reaction and good cycling stability simultaneously is challenging. Herein, a novel heterogeneous NaFe(PO)(PO)/NaVTi(PO) (NFPP/NVTP) material with stable multielectron reaction is constructed by spray drying technology.

December 2024

Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Applied Botany and Key Laboratory of National Forestry and Grassland Administration on Plant Conservation and Utilization in Southern China, South China Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xingke Road 723, Guangzhou, 510650, China.

Article Synopsis
  • The study examines the relationship between mycorrhizal types, specifically arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) and ectomycorrhizal (EcM) plants, and their differences in drought tolerance.
  • A global dataset of 1457 woody species was analyzed, revealing that evolutionary history and biogeography affect hydraulic traits in these plants.
  • Findings indicate that AM angiosperms are less drought-tolerant than EcM angiosperms in wetter areas, while AM gymnosperms outperform EcM gymnosperms in dry conditions; overall, AM species show greater variation in hydraulic traits compared to EcM species.

Background: GALNTs (UDP-GalNAc; polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferases) initiate mucin-type O-GalNAc glycosylation by adding N-GalNAc to protein serine/threonine residues. Abnormalities in O-GalNAc glycosylation are involved in various disorders such as Parkinson's disease (PD), a neurodegenerative disorder. GALNT9 is potentially downregulated in PD patients.

Electronic address:

The performance of organic solar cell (OSC) devices has been significantly enhanced by the dramatic evolution of A-D-A type non-fullerene acceptors (NFAs). Nevertheless, the structure-property-performance relationship of NFAs in the OSC device is unclear. Here, the intrinsic design factors of isomeric, fluorination and π-conjunction curtailing on the photophysical properties of benzodi (thienopyran) (BDTP) (named NBDTP-M, NBDTTP-M, NBDTP-F, and NBDTP-F)-based NFAs are discussed.

This study was conducted to investigate the association between alcohol consumption in adolescence and the risk of hypertension or prehypertension development in early adulthood. This cohort study included adolescent participants aged 12-18 years from the 2000-2011 China Health and Nutrition Survey. Cox proportional risk regression models were used to analyze the associations of the frequency of alcohol consumption, alcohol intake, and type of alcohol with the risk of developing hypertension or prehypertension.

Background: Various cytokines are involved in the pathogenesis of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD), but whether serum interleukin-32 (IL-32) level is related to disease activity in cases with NMOSD remains poorly understood. Thus, we investigated the underlying role of IL-32 in NMOSD cases.

Methods: Our observation recruited 32 cases with acute NMOSD, 36 NMOSD cases in remission, and 60 healthy individuals in this study.

Extant studies have empirically tested the main two behavior responses following ostracism: prosocial or antisocial. Few studies have investigated the relationship between ostracism and social withdrawal. According to the temporal need-threat model and the self-verification theory, the present study aimed to examine the influence mechanism of ostracism on social withdrawal, especially the mediating role of self-esteem and the moderating role of rejection sensitivity.

Several research studies globally focus on the volatility of gold and oil prices, neglecting an examination of silver price volatility in relation to other market commodities. The current Covid-19 pandemic has led to various uncertainties and fluctuations in financial and stock exchange markets, yet existing literature primarily concentrates on individual product rates rather than combined rate changes. Our study aims to bridge this research gap by analyzing the relationship between oil rates, silver rates, oil rate transitions, and silver rate transitions on the security exchange in China from 1990 to 2022, using the ARDL approach and Nonlinear ARDL for a comprehensive assessment.
