The predatory stink bug, (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), is an important and valuable natural enemy of insect pests in their ecosystems. While insects are known to harbor symbiotic microorganisms, and these microbial symbionts play a crucial role in various aspects of the host's biology, there is a paucity of knowledge regarding the microbiota present in the venom glands of . This study investigated the venom glands of adult bugs using both traditional in vitro isolation and cultural methods, as well as Illumina high-throughput sequencing technology.

The advancement of various energy conversion and storage technologies hinges on the development of efficient and stable electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). In this study, we report the enhancement of carbon cloth (CC) for robust ORR through an FeClintercalation reaction. Utilizing a thermal annealing method, FeClwas intercalated into the graphite structure on the surface of CC, resulting in the creation of numerous defects and the incorporation of Fe species.

The Dung Beetle Optimization (DBO) algorithm, a well-established swarm intelligence technique, has shown considerable promise in solving complex engineering design challenges. However, it is hampered by limitations such as suboptimal population initialization, sluggish search speeds, and restricted global exploration capabilities. To overcome these shortcomings, we propose an enhanced version termed Adaptive Spiral Strategy Dung Beetle Optimization (ADBO).

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a T lymphocyte-mediated autoimmune disease caused by pancreatic β-cell destruction, which eventually leads to reduced insulin level and increased blood glucose level (Syed, 2022). As a multifactorial disease, T1D is characterized by a genetic predisposition associated with various environmental and cellular elements (Syed, 2022). Pancreatic β cells have long been considered the "innocent victims" in T1D pathogenesis since the pancreas is attacked by the immune cells, resulting in a process known as insulitis, in which the immune cells infiltrate pancreatic islets and secrete pro-inflammatory cytokines.

Hormone receptor-positive (HR+)/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2-) breast cancer is the most common subtype, representing over two-thirds of new diagnoses. Adjuvant therapy, which encompasses various medications and treatment durations, is the standard approach for managing early stage HR+ HER2- breast cancer. Optimizing treatment is essential to minimize unnecessary side effects while addressing the biological variability inherent in HR+/HER2- breast cancers.

In natural environments, general plant volatiles and herbivore-induced plant volatiles (HIPVs) serve as critical clues for predatory natural enemies in the search for prey. The insect olfactory system plays a vital role in perceiving plant volatiles including HIPVs. In this study, we found that HIPV (,)-4,8,12-trimethyl-1,3,7,11-tridecatetraene (TMTT) and the plant volatile geranyl acetate (GA), two structurally similar chemicals, displayed electrophysiological activities on the antennae of the ladybird , but were only attractive to adult females in behavior.

Objective: Although guidelines support the efficacy of Modified Qing' E Formula (MQEF) in treating postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP), its underlying mechanisms remain incompletely understood. This retrospective investigation aims to elucidate MQEF's impact on serum exosomal miRNA expression in postmenopausal osteoporosis patients and to explore potential therapeutic mechanisms.
Methods: Following ethical approval and registration, postmenopausal osteoporosis patients aged 50-85 years, meeting the diagnostic criteria were randomly selected and received MQEF decoction supplementary therapy.

Background: The burden of common urologic diseases, including benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), urinary tract infections (UTI), urolithiasis, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, and prostate cancer, varies both geographically and within specific regions. It is essential to conduct a comprehensive and precise assessment of the global burden of urologic diseases.
Methods: We obtained data on incidence, prevalence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) for the aforementioned urologic diseases by age, sex, location, and year from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021.

Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS), a successfully commercialized polymeric semiconductor material, has potential as a transparent electrode in flexible electronic devices, yet has insufficient conductivity. We present the synthesis, properties, and directed crystallization of the PEDOT:dodecyl sulfate (PEDOT:DS) film. Iron(III) dodecyl sulfate (Fe(DS)) multi-lamellar vesicles (MLVs), a new growth template, are used to synthesize and direct the growth of the PEDOT:DS film via vapor-phase polymerization of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene to form huge PEDOT:DS co-crystal domains within the MLV superstructure.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a serious and difficult to treat traumatic disease of the central nervous system. Spinal cord injury causes a variety of detrimental effects, including neuroinflammation and ferroptosis, leading to chronic functional impairment and death. Recent studies have shown that microglia/macrophages (M/Ms) at the injury site remain primarily in the pro-inflammatory state, which is detrimental to recovery.

Vapor-deposited inverted perovskite solar cells utilizing self-assembled monolayer (SAM) as hole transport material have gained significant attention for their high efficiencies and compatibility with silicon/perovskite monolithic tandem devices. However, as a small molecule, the SAM layer suffers low thermal tolerance in comparison with other metal oxide or polymers, rendering poor efficiency in solar device with high-temperature (> 160 °C) fabricating procedures. In this study, a dual modification approach involving AlO and F-doped phenyltrimethylammonium bromide (F-PTABr) layers is introduced to enhance the buried interface.

The coupled green energy and chemical production by photocatalysis represents a promising sustainable pathway, which poses great challenges for the multifunction integration of catalytic systems. Here we show a promising green photocatalyst design using Cu-ZnInS nanosheets and carbon dots as building units, which enables the integration of reaction, mass transfer, and separation functions in the nano-space, mimicking a nanoreactor. This function integration results in great activity promotion for benzyl alcohol oxidation coupled H production, with H/benzaldehyde production rates of 45.
