This study investigates the potential of natural products, specifically AH and NSO, as organic therapeutic agents for colitis. Using nanotechnology, while improving the health of broiler chickens, it is possible to control and reduce the conflict of minerals in the intestines, and toxicity of and pollution by these elements. In addition, improving the quality of meat products with the use of nano selenium has promising results in the future perspective of quality improvement and food safety.

This research characterized and explored the effect of cumin essential oil nanoemulsion (CEONE) on broiler growth performance, serum biochemistry, hematological parameters, and cecal microbial count. Day-old ( = 96) broilers (Ross 308) were randomly assigned to six treatments with five replicates of three broilers each. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of nano-encapsulation of four essential amino acids (AA), threonine, methionine, tryptophan, and lysine on in vitro ruminal total gas, methane, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen sulfide production as well as the rumen fermentation profile in cattle. The highest (P < 0.001) rate and asymptotic gas production after 48 h of incubation was observed in the diets that had threonine, followed by lysine, methionine, and tryptophan.

Significant efforts have been made to understand how fat deposition in sheep tail is regulated in genetic, transcriptomic, physiologic, biochemical, and metabolic levels in order to elucidate the complex mechanisms underlying the energy storage, lipid metabolism in adipose tissue, adaptability to harsh environments, and evolutionary domestication. Through RNA-seq data analysis, we are able to compare the gene expression of fat-tailed sheep versus thin-tailed sheep breeds in an acceptable resolution at transcriptome level. Plastic bags are currently a major component of marine litter, causing aesthetical nuisance, and undesirable effects on marine fauna that ingest them or are entangled. Plastic litter also rises concern on the ecotoxicological effects due to the potential toxicity of the chemical additives leached in aquatic environments. Conventional plastic bags are made of polyethylene, either from first use or recycled, but regulations restricting single-use plastics and limiting lightweight carrier bags (<50 μm thickness) have fostered the replacement of thin PE bags by compostable materials advertised as safer for the environment.

Background: 6-Bromo-7-[C]methylpurine ([C]BMP) is a radiotracer for positron emission tomography (PET) to measure multidrug resistance-associated protein 1 (MRP1) transport activity in different tissues. Human dentin is a highly organized dental tissue displaying a complex microarchitecture consisting of micrometer-sized tubules encased in a mineralized type-I collagen matrix. Treatment of peripheral nerve lesions remains a major challenge due to poor functional recovery; hence, ongoing research efforts strive to enhance peripheral nerve repair. In this study, we aimed to establish three-dimensional tissue-engineered bands of Büngner constructs by subjecting Schwann cells (SCs) embedded in fibrin hydrogels to mechanical stimulation. We show for the first time that the application of strain induces (i) longitudinal alignment of SCs resembling bands of Büngner, and (ii) the expression of a pronounced repair SC phenotype as evidenced by upregulation of BDNF, NGF, and p75.

Biocomposite films were prepared by formulating talipot starch with plant mucilage derived from shoeblack leaves, okra, and seeds of basil, fenugreek, and flax, which were identified as SBM-TSF, OKM-TSF, BSM-TSF, FGM-TSF, and FXM-TSF, respectively. The plant mucilages enhanced the crosslinking of the filmogenic solutions, which increased the film's relative crystallinity. Upon topographical investigation, the biocomposite films exhibited the same compact and homogeneous structures as the native talipot starch film (NTSF), but with finer corrugations.
