Because of their resilience, Time-of-Flight (ToF) cameras are now essential components in scientific and industrial settings. This paper outlines the essential factors for modeling 3D ToF cameras, with specific emphasis on analyzing the phenomenon known as "wiggling". Through our investigation, we demonstrate that wiggling not only causes systematic errors in distance measurements, but also introduces periodic fluctuations in statistical measurement uncertainty, which compounds the dependence on the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).

The assessment of human liver stem cells (HLSCs) as cell therapeutics requires scalable, controlled expansion processes. We first focused on defining appropriate process parameters for HLSC expansion such as seeding density, use of antibiotics, optimal cell age and critical metabolite concentrations in conventional 2D culture systems. The production of antimicrobial peptides/proteins (AMPs) in sufficient quantities for clinical evaluation is challenging because complex peptides are unsuitable for chemical synthesis, natural sources have low yields, and heterologous systems often have low expression levels or require product-specific process adaptations. Here we describe the production of a complex AMP, the insect metalloproteinase inhibitor (IMPI), by adding a C-terminal C-tag to increase the yield compared to the unmodified peptide. We used a design of experiments approach for process intensification in Escherichia coli Rosetta-gami 2(DE3)pLysS cells and achieved a yield of 260 mg L, which is up to 30-fold higher than previously reported.

The quality of cervical spinal cord images can be improved by the use of tailored radiofrequency (RF) coil solutions for ultrahigh field imaging; however, very few commercial and research 7-T RF coils currently exist for the spinal cord, and in particular, those with parallel transmission (pTx) capabilities. This work presents the design, testing, and validation of a pTx/Rx coil for the human neck and cervical/upper thoracic spinal cord. A promising new vaccine platform is based on the Orf virus, a viral vector of the genus Parapoxvirus, which is currently being tested in phase I clinical trials.
