Objective: Fever is a classic symptom in postoperative period, but to our knowledge no study shows exclusively the occurrence of fever after open aortic repair (OAR) and explores the difference between explained and unexplained fever.
Methods: Patients who underwent an OAR between March 2018 to April 2023 in Reims University Hospital were enrolled retrospectively. The primary endpoint was the rate of fever after OAR, which was classed in explained fever group (eFG) or unexplained fever group (uFG).

Introduction And Objectives: Balloon atrial septostomy (BAS) improves oxygenation in neonates with transposition of the great arteries (TGA) and restrictive foramen ovale. Currently, there is a global shortage of dedicated BAS catheters, while new unmarked catheters have recently become available at some European centers. This study aimed to characterize BAS outcomes using the currently available BAS catheters in Europe.

Background: Due to the global growth of its prevalence and its impact on patient health, obesity is considered a near-epidemic condition by the World Health Organization (WHO). Its overall prevalence has now reached 17 % in France. The impact of obesity is also a concern for pregnant women, due to the risk of maternal and fetal complications.

Objective: Computing the trajectories of mandibular condyles directly from MRI could provide a comprehensive examination, providing both anatomical and kinematic details. This study aimed to investigate the feasibility of extracting 3D condylar trajectories from 2D real-time MRI.
Materials And Methods: Twenty healthy subjects underwent real-time MRI while performing jaw opening and closing movements.

Retinal dystrophy, optic nerve oedema, splenomegaly, anhidrosis and migraine headache (ROSAH) syndrome is an autosomal dominant disorder and to date is known to be caused by either the Thr237Met or Tyr254Cys variant in the protein kinase ALPK1. Here, we identify a family in which ROSAH syndrome is caused by a novel variant in which Ser277 is changed to Phe. All six patients examined display ocular inflammation and optic nerve elevation, four have retinal degeneration and four are registered blind.

Background: The use of the 3D exoscope in cervicofacial reconstruction has demonstrated its effectiveness, yet few studies have compared its utility to that of the microscope.
Objective: To compare the reliability of microanastomoses performed with both tools, along with postoperative outcomes and user experience.
Patients And Methods: This was a retrospective single-center study that included all cases of microanastomosed forearm or fibula free flap reconstructions performed between June 2019 and June 2022.

As the world still vividly recalls the previous monkeypox (mpox) outbreak that impacted over 120 countries worldwide with more than 99,000 cases in 2022, we are now facing a second wave of infections from the monkeypox virus (MPXV), characterized by an exponential increase in cases. The current 2024 outbreak has already recorded more than 20,000 cases in Africa, marking a dramatic escalation compared to previous outbreaks. The predominance of the newly identified clade Ib variant, first detected in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and now identified across multiple African nations and beyond, underscores its enhanced transmissibility and potential for international spread, evidenced by cases in Sweden and Thailand.

Introduction: Salivary carcinomas of the tongue represent a therapeutic challenge as their radical excision is particularly mutilating. We aimed to study the oncologic and functional outcomes of advanced stages salivary carcinomas of the tongue.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective multicentric study, based on the French national network on rare head and neck cancers (REFCOR), included all patients with a T3-T4 salivary carcinoma of the tongue, diagnosed between January 2009 and December 2018.

Dietary advanced glycation end-products (dAGEs) accumulate in organs and are thought to initiate chronic low-grade inflammation (CLGI), induce glycoxidative stress, drive immunosenescence, and influence gut microbiota. Part of the toxicological interest in glycation products such as dietary carboxymethyl-lysine (dCML) relies on their interaction with receptor for advanced glycation end-products (RAGE). It remains uncertain whether early or lifelong exposure to dAGEs contributes physiological changes and whether such effects are reversible or permanent.

Echocardiographic evaluation of the cardiopulmonary unit is difficult in case of tricuspid regurgitation (TR) and combined echocardiographic parameters could be useful. This study aimed to assess the variation of simple and combined echocardiographic parameters analysing the cardiopulmonary unit according to the severity of TR. TR was graded according to Hahn's classification in 179 patients.

Background: Uncontrolled gout can cause articular impairment but is also associated with a global and cardiovascular excess mortality, especially in dialysis population. Data documented within existing research is not conclusive regarding gout flares evolution during hemodialysis and their control by urate lowering therapy (ULT). Without clear guidelines concerning hemodialysis patients management with chronic gout, this study proposes to investigate whether gout flare incidence reduction could be observed on this population treated by urate lowering therapy versus patients without treatment.

In patients with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (AD) showing an inadequate response to dupilumab 300mg/2weeks, few real-life studies reported the response to alternative regimen maintaining dupilumab. To assess and analyze the response to an increased dose of dupilumab or its combination with cyclosporin A (CsA), methotrexate (MTX), or itraconazole (ITRA), all adult AD patients from 7 French University Hospitals were retrospectively included if they achieved an inadequate response to dupilumab 300mg/2weeks and were subsequently treated with an increased dose of dupilumab (300mg every 7 or 10 days), or a combination of dupilumab 300mg/2weeks with CsA, MTX or ITRA. The response after 3 months, along with epidemiological, clinical, and therapeutic baseline characteristics, were collected.

Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma (PCNSL) is an aggressive brain tumour with a median survival rarely exceeding 3 months without treatment when seen in association with advanced HIV. High dose methotrexate (HD-MTX) in association with combination antiretroviral therapy (cART) is the recommended chemotherapy. However, HD-MTX may be not feasible due to poor performance status and concerns about toxicity.
