Design: This experimental study involved in-silico testing of a meniscus model developed from two materials: a specially formulated hydrogel composed of silk fibroin (SF), gelatine, and decellularized meniscus-derived extracellular matrix (MD-dECM), and polyurethane (PU) with stiffness levels of 54 and 205 MPa. Both single-material implants and a two-volumetric meniscus model with an SF/gelatine/MD-dECM core and a PU shell were analysed using FEA to simulate the biomechanical performance under physiological conditions.

Methods: Two online surveys were conducted from November 2022 to January 2023, inviting all veterinarians and veterinary students in Austria to share their experiences on the impact of the pandemic on their veterinarian work and education in a free text question.

Understanding the stable hydrogen isotope (H) composition and fractionation in lipid biomolecules of primary producers, such as terrestrial and aquatic plants, is crucial for deciphering past environmental conditions, as well as applying compound-specific stable isotope analysis for the study of metabolic and ecological processes. We conducted a new tracer experiment to explore the H composition of algal fatty acid biomarkers, focusing on freshwater algae, which form the base of aquatic food webs. We selected a range of algal species widely found in freshwater ecosystems and cultivated them under controlled conditions.
