Fabricating visible-light-responsive metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with high stability and effective catalytic functionality remains a long-term pursuit yet a great challenge. Herein, a strategy of increasing ligand and cluster connectivity is developed to construct highly stable fluorescein MOFs, La-CFL, presenting a new (4,8)-connected topological structure compared to Cd-FL constructed using 6-connected dinuclear clusters and 3-connected tritopic ligands. La(CFL) containers like Chinese "Ritual Wine Vessels (Jue)" resemble linear arrangements interconnected by the [La(COO)] clusters.

Resistance to epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) is the main cause of mortality in lung cancer. This study aimed to investigate the roles of neuropilin 1 (NRP1) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). NRP1 expression was assessed in tumor tissues from patients with osimertinib-resistant (OR) NSCLC and osimertinib-responsive NSCLC as well as in patients with paracancerous NSCLC tissues who did not undergo radiotherapy or chemotherapy.

Background: Although there has been limited research into the perturbation of electrophysiological activity in the brain after ischemia, the activity signatures during ischemia and reperfusion remain to be fully elucidated. We aim to comprehensively describe these electrophysiological signatures and interrogate their correlation with ischemic damage during global cerebral ischemia and reperfusion.
Methods And Results: We used the 4-vessel occlusion method of inducing global cerebral ischemia in rats.

Aqueous Zn-ion batteries are promising candidates for next-generation energy storage devices due to the advantages of high safety, low cost and good environmental friendliness. However, the uncontrollable dendrite growth and undesirable side reactions occurring on the Zn anode result in poor cycling stability. Herein, a Lewis base, triethanolamine, is used as the electrolyte additive to construct a hybrid solid-electrolyte interphase layer composed of a static ZnSO·3Zn(OH)·4HO layer and dynamic quaternary ammonium ion adsorption layer.

Background: Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) and mRNA profiles in leukocytes have shown potential as biomarkers for acute ischemic stroke (AIS). This study aimed to identify altered lncRNA and target mRNA profiles in peripheral blood leukocytes as biomarkers and to assess the diagnostic value and association with AIS prognosis.
Methods And Results: Differentially expressed lncRNAs (DElncRNAs) and differentially expressed target mRNAs (DEmRNAs) were screened by RNA sequencing in the discovery set, which consisted of 10 patients with AIS and 20 controls.

Objective: We analyzed the influence of the location of the upper and lower cement on the sandwich vertebrae (SV) by computer finite element analysis.
Materials And Methods: A finite element model of the spinal segment of T11-L1 was constructed and 6 mL of cement was built into T11 and L1 simultaneously. According to the various distributions of bone cement at T11 and L1, the following four groups were formed: (i) Group B-B: bilateral bone cement reinforcement in both T11 and L1 vertebral bodies; (ii) Group L-B: left unilateral reinforcement in T11 and bilateral reinforcement in L1; (iii) Group L-R: unilateral cement reinforcement in both T11 and L1 (cross); (iv) Group L-L: unilateral cement reinforcement in both T11 and L1 (ipsilateral side).

The interplay between vascularization and macrophage-induced immune suppression plays a crucial role in melanoma treatment. In this study, we propose a novel combination approach to combat melanoma by simultaneously inhibiting tumor vascularization and enhancing macrophage-mediated anti-tumor responses. We investigate the potential of combining combretastatin A4 (CA4), a vascular-disrupting agent, with poly(I:C) (PIC), an immunostimulatory adjuvant.

Although self-assembly has emerged as an effective tool for fabricating biomaterials, achieving precise control over the morphologies and functionalities of the resultant assemblies remains an ongoing challenge. Inspired by the copper peptide naturally present in human plasma, in this study, we designed a synthetic precursor, FcGH. FcGH can self-assemble via two distinct pathways: spontaneous and Cu-induced.

Nucleotide second messengers are highly versatile signaling molecules that regulate a variety of key biological processes in bacteria. The best-studied examples are cyclic AMP (cAMP) and bis-(3'-5')-cyclic dimeric guanosine monophosphate (c-di-GMP), which both act as global regulators. Global regulatory frameworks of c-di-GMP and cAMP in bacteria show several parallels but also significant variances.

Methods And Results: A total of 806 patients who were receiving stable and optimized lipid-lowering therapy but did not achieve their low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) targets were enrolled and randomly assigned in a 2:1:2:1 ratio to receive either ongericimab 150 mg or matching placebo every 2 weeks, or ongericimab 300 mg or matching placebo every 4 weeks for 52 weeks. Efficacy and safety were evaluated in 802 patients who received at least 1 dose of ongericimab or placebo.

Zirconium-based metal-organic frameworks (Zr-MOFs) have been extensively studied due to their very rich structural chemistry. The combination of nearly unlimited carboxylic acid-based linkers and Zr clusters with multiple connectivities has led to diverse structures and specific properties of resultant Zr-MOFs. Herein, we demonstrate the successful use of reticular chemistry to construct two novel Zr-MOFs, HIAM-4040 and HIAM-4040-OH, with zfu topology.

The existence of the oxidation/reduction interface can promote the performance of a photocatalyst, due to its effect on the separation of photogenerated carriers and the surface reactivity. However, it is difficult to construct two sets of oxidation/reduction interfaces in a single crystal and compare their separation efficiency for photogenerated carriers. Introducing a high proportion of active facets into the co-exposed facets is even more challenging.
