Unlabelled: Adolescents and young adults' active lifestyles make dental trauma a significant medical concern.
Aim: This study aims to assess the etiology, frequency, and localization of dental and periodontal trauma in adolescents and young adults, along with these individuals' predisposition based on age, gender, and residence. Materials and Methods This retrospective study included 109 adolescents and young adults from a database of the Emergency and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department at "Sf.

The Montreal consensus recognizes chronic cough as an extra-esophageal manifestation of gastroesophageal reflux disease. We performed a meta-analysis to assess the effects of acid-suppressive medications in adults with non-specific chronic cough. The protocol was registered on PROSPERO (CRD42022368769).

(1) Background: In patients hospitalized with COVID-19 pneumonia, especially moderate and severe forms, a cytokine storm may occur, characterized by the worsening of symptoms and the alteration of biological parameters on days 8-12 of the disease. The therapeutic options for cytokine storms are still controversial, requiring further clarification; (2) Methods: Our study included 344 patients with moderate and severe pneumonia admitted to the internal medicine department who developed a cytokine storm (diagnosed by clinical and biochemical criteria). In group A, 149 patients were treated with Remdesivir and Tocilizumab (together with other drugs, including corticosteroids, antibiotics and anticoagulants), and in group B, 195 patients received Remdesivir and Anakinra.

Tissue stroma is responsible for extracellular matrix (ECM) formation and secretion of factors that coordinate the behaviour of the surrounding cells through the microenvironment created. It's inability to spontaneously regenerate makes it a good candidate for research studies such as testing various tissue engineered products capable of replacing the stroma in order to assure normal tissue regeneration and function. In this study, a bioactive stroma was obtained considering two main components: 1) the artificial ECM formed using atelocollagen-oxidized polysaccharides hydrogels in which the polysaccharide compound (oxidised gellan or pullulan) has the role of crosslinker and 2) encapsulated stromal cells (dermal fibroblasts, ovarian theca-interstitial and granulosa cells).

The approach of covalent conjugation for coupling synthetic polymers with biomolecules represents an appealing strategy to produce new compounds with distinctive properties for biomedical applications. In the present study we generated hybrid gels with tunable characteristics by using hyaluronic acid (HA) and four variants of poly(itaconic anhydride-co-3,9-divinyl-2,4,8,10-tetraoxaspiro[5.5] undecane) (PITAU) copolymers, differing through the molar ratios between comonomers.

Between them nanogels represent one of the most attractive carriers for innovative drug delivery systems. In the present investigation new variants of multi-responsive nanogels have been synthesized by crosslinking poly(itaconic anhydride-co-3,9-divinyl-2,4,8,10-tetraoxaspiro [5.

The previous works on simulated broths are continued and developed for Propionibacterium shermanii broths. The obtained results indicated the considerable increase of kLa in presence of n-dodecane as oxygen-vector and the existence of a certain value of hydrocarbon concentration that corresponds to the maximum mass transfer rate of oxygen. The magnitude of the positive effect of the oxygen-vector strongly depends on operational conditions of the bioreactor, on broth characteristics and on P.

Oxygen mass transfer represents the most important parameter involved in the design and operation of mixing-sparging equipment for bioreactors. It can be described and analyzed by means of the mass transfer coefficient, k(L) a. The k(L) a values are affected by many factors such as geometrical and operational characteristics of the vessels, media composition, type, concentration and microorganism morphology, and biocatalysts properties.
