Alcohol-related liver disease is the third cause of hepatocellular carcinoma worldwide and the leading cause in Europe. Additionally, the recent definition of Metabolic dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease with increased alcoholic intake will enrich this population with a more nuanced phenotype, reflecting recent epidemiological trends. In these patients, hepatocellular carcinoma diagnosis is often delayed and less frequently detected through screening programs.

Background & Aims: Safety data for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treated with atezolizumab-bevacizumab in the real-world setting remain uncertain. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the incidence of adverse events (AEs) in patients with HCC treated with atezolizumab-bevacizumab in the literature.
Methods: In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we searched PubMed for original studies reporting percentages of AEs in patients with HCC receiving atezolizumab-bevacizumab between 2020 to 2023, using the search terms "Atezolizumab/Bevacizumab", "HCC" and "Adverse events".

Accurate determination of pre-pregnancy weight is essential for optimal pregnancy monitoring and antenatal care. Determining pre-pregnancy weight in limited-resources settings is challenging for both clinical practice and public health research. From a 2014-2017 pre-pregnancy cohort in Benin, we evaluated the agreement between the measured pre-pregnancy weight (MPPW) and two proxies: (i) the first trimester pregnancy weight (FTPW) and (ii) the estimated pre-pregnancy weight (EPPW) using Thomas & al.

By manipulating resource availability on a local spatial scale, we studied seasonal patterns of resource use within natural populations of burying beetles in a Norfolk woodland. Burying beetles are necrophagous insects that breed on vertebrate carcasses.

Ant evolutionary success depends mainly on the coordination of colony members, who recognize nestmates based on the cuticular hydrocarbon (CHC) profile of their epicuticle. While several studies have examined variations in this crucial factor for colony identity, few have investigated the anthropic impact on CHC profiles, and none have focused on . Here, we surveyed the changes in CHC assemblages across agroecosystems and assessed whether different vineyard management influences these profiles.

Cholangiocarcinomas are a highly heterogeneous group of malignancies that, despite recent progress in the understanding of their molecular pathogenesis and clinical management, continue to pose a major challenge to public health. The traditional view posits that cholangiocarcinomas derive from the neoplastic transformation of cholangiocytes lining the biliary tree. However, increasing genetic and experimental evidence has recently pointed to a more complex, and nuanced, scenario for the potential cell of origin of cholangiocarcinomas.

The Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) is one of the sustainable strategies for the control of disease vectors, which consists of releasing sterilized males that will mate with the wild females, resulting in a reduction and, eventually a local elimination, of the wild population. The implementation of the SIT in the field can become problematic when there are inaccessible areas where the release of sterile insects cannot be carried out directly, and the migration of wild insects from these areas to the treated zone may influence the efficacy of this technique. However, we can also take advantage of the movement of sterile individuals to control the wild population in these unreachable places.

Social animals need to keep track of other individuals in their group to be able to adjust their behaviour accordingly and facilitate group cohesion. This recognition ability varies across species and is influenced by cognitive capacities such as learning and memory. In reptiles, particularly Squamates (lizards, snakes, and worm lizards), chemical communication is pivotal for territoriality, reproduction, and other social interactions.

Objective: Circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) is a promising non-invasive biomarker in cancer. We aim to assess the dynamic of ctDNA in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Design: We analysed 772 plasmas from 173 patients with HCC collected at the time of diagnosis or treatment (n=502), 24 hours after locoregional treatment (n=154) and during follow-up (n=116).

Background: The COVID-19 (Coronavirus disease of 2019) pandemic caused major disruption to nursing research, especially qualitative research. Researchers had to overcome numerous challenges that potentially impacted the quality of the studies carried out.
Objectives: The aim of this study is to assess the characteristics and quality of reporting qualitative nursing articles on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Background: Higher education students are an important target group for public health nutrition interventions. When designing tailored and contextually relevant interventions, participatory and co-creation approaches are increasingly recognized as promising but their use and effectiveness has not been assessed in this type of population. We systematically reviewed interventions aiming to improve dietary quality and/or food security in higher education settings with the aims 1) to identify and describe their participatory and co-creation approaches and 2) to compare the effectiveness of interventions using or not using participatory and co-creation approaches.

Background: The risk of SARS-CoV-2 transmission to health care workers in intensive care units (ICU) and the contribution of airborne and fomites to SARS-CoV-2 transmission remain unclear. To assess the rate of air and surface contamination and identify risk factors associated with this contamination in patients admitted to the ICU for acute respiratory failure due to SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia.

Introduction: This research explores the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on psychotherapists' practices and their ability to maintain a framework despite a shared reality with their patients. The specific focus in this article is on the Lebanese context, which is characterized by a series of crises including economic collapse, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Beirut blast. The objective of this study was to examine how the destabilization of the meta-frame due to crises necessitates adaptations in theoretical knowledge, practice, and setting.

Introduction: Wrist arthroscopy is a rapidly expanding surgical discipline, but has a long and challenging learning curve. One of its difficulties is distinguishing the various anatomical structures during the procedure. Although artificial intelligence has made significant progress in recent decades, its potential as a valuable tool in surgery training is largely untapped.

Bacterial endosymbionts of eukaryotic hosts typically experience massive genome reduction, but the underlying evolutionary processes are often obscured by the lack of free-living relatives. Endomicrobia, a family-level lineage of host-associated bacteria in the phylum that comprises both free-living representatives and endosymbionts of termite gut flagellates, are an excellent model to study evolution of intracellular symbionts. We reconstructed 67 metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) of among more than 1,700 MAGs from the gut microbiota of a wide range of termites.

Background: Social prescription is seen as a public health intervention tool with the potential to mitigate social determinants of health. On one side, social prescription is not yet well developed in France, where social workers usually attend to social needs, and historically, there is a deep divide between the health and social sectors. On the other side, discharge coordination is gaining attention in France as a critical tool to improve the quality of care, assessed indirectly using unplanned rehospitalization rates.

Hepatocellular adenomas (HCAs) are rare benign liver tumours. Predisposing factors and complication rates appear to differ among children and adults. In the present study, we aimed to systematically characterise paediatric HCAs and determine their course, complications, and management.

Vectorial Boolean functions and codes are closely related and interconnected. On the one hand, various requirements of binary linear codes are needed for their theoretical interests but, more importantly, for their practical applications (such as few-weight codes or minimal codes for secret sharing, locally recoverable codes for storage, etc.).

The large abundance of termites is partially achieved by their defensive abilities. Stylotermitidae represented by a single extant genus, Stylotermes, is a member of a termite group Neoisoptera that encompasses 83% of termite species and 94% of termite genera and is characterized by the presence of the frontal gland. Within Neoisoptera, Stylotermitidae represents a species-poor sister lineage of all other groups.
