Safety interventions for the prevention of accidents at work: A systematic review.

Background: Limited knowledge regarding the relative effectiveness of workplace accident prevention approaches creates barriers to informed decision-making by policy makers, public health practitioners, workplace, and worker advocates.

Objectives: The objective of this review was to assess the effectiveness of broad categories of safety interventions in preventing accidents at work. The review aims to compare effects of safety interventions to no intervention, usual activities, or alternative intervention, and if possible, to examine which constituent components of safety intervention programs contribute more strongly to preventing accidents at work in a given setting or context.

Simultaneous measurement of kynurenine metabolites and explorative metabolomics using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry: A novel accurate method applied to serum and plasma samples from a large healthy cohort.

Kynurenine metabolites are emerging as promising clinical biomarkers in several diseases, especially within psychiatry. Unfortunately, they are difficult to detect, particularly the challenging neurotoxic metabolite quinolinic acid (QUIN). The aim of this study was twofold: First, to develop a liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry method (LC-MS) for simultaneous targeted quantification of key kynurenine metabolites together with untargeted metabolomics, and second, to demonstrate the feasibility of the method by exploring serum/plasma and gender differences in 120 healthy young adults between 18 and 30 years of age.

Five-year evaluation of a low-cost quality assurance protocol for clinical ultrasound transducers.

Objective: To implement, execute and evaluate a quality assurance test protocol for clinical ultrasound transducers that is software-based, user-independent, inexpensive, easily repeatable, and does not require tissue phantoms.

Methods: The test protocol is based on in-air reverberation images. The software test tool generates uniformity- and reverberation profiles to monitor system sensitivities and signal uniformities that provide a sensitive analysis of transducer status.

Measuring mealtime performance in older adults with suspected oropharyngeal dysphagia: an updated systematic review of psychometric properties.

Purpose: To update a previous review of psychometric properties of performance-based outcome measurement instruments (PerFOMs) for task performance in the context of meal activity of older adults (≥65 years) with suspected oropharyngeal dysphagia (OD).

Materials And Methods: Systematic searches were conducted in PubMed, CINAHL, EMBASE, SCOPUS, and Web of Science. Studies on PerFOMs that covers items reflecting skills in the pre-oral, oral, and pharyngeal stages of ingestion during meals were included.

Effect of telemonitoring on quality of life for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease-A randomized controlled trial.

Introduction: Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) often experience severe physical limitations and psychological distress, which can lead to a deterioration in quality of life (QoL). Telemonitoring (TM) may improve QoL and reduce the number of hospitalizations and readmissions, but results from previous studies have been conflicting. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of TM on QoL in patients with moderate to severe COPD recruited during hospitalization for acute exacerbation (AECOPD).

Crisis social support after work-related violence and threats and risk for depressive symptoms: a 3-months follow-up study.

Introduction: Employees working at psychiatric wards are at risk for work-related threats and violence that may impact their physical and mental health. Studies have found that crisis social support may mitigate these adverse health effects.

Return to Work After Surgery For Trapeziometacarpal Joint Osteoarthritis in Relation to Occupational Hand Force Requirements.

Purpose: This study evaluated the hypothesis that higher occupational hand force requirements are related to slower return to work (RTW) after surgery for trapeziometacarpal joint osteoarthritis.

Methods: Patients treated surgically for trapeziometacarpal joint osteoarthritis from 2001 to 2017 were identified in the Danish National Patient Register. Sustainable RTW (sRTW) was defined as the first period of 4 consecutive weeks without health-related public transfer payments, according to the Danish National Register on Public Transfer Payments.

Introduction: Acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are associated with high morbidity and mortality. Telemonitoring may reduce the frequency of hospitalization. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of telemonitoring on hospitalization rates for acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Participation in the nationwide cervical cancer screening programme in Denmark during the COVID-19 pandemic: An observational study.
