Purpose: This study sought to evaluate the biomechanical properties of the interface between the rotator cuff and the semicircular humeral ligament or rotator cable (RCa) using histological and biomechanical techniques.
Methods: Out of 13 eligible cadaver specimens, 5 cadaver shoulders with an intact rotator cuff were included, 8 were excluded due to an injured rotator cuff. The histological study enables us to describe the capsule-tendon interface between the infraspinatus tendon (IST) or supraspinatus tendon (SST) and RCa, and to detect loose connective tissue layers to determine their precise location and measure their length along the interface.

Radiation therapy plays a crucial role in cancer treatment, necessitating precise delivery of radiation to tumors while sparing healthy tissues over multiple days. Computed tomography (CT) is integral for treatment planning, offering electron density data crucial for accurate dose calculations. However, accurately representing patient anatomy is challenging, especially in adaptive radiotherapy, where CT is not acquired daily.

Background: In surgery, simulated-based training improves the knowledge and interpersonal skills needed for surgeons to improve their performance and meet the "never the first time on a patient" imperative. The objective is to evaluate the effects of a 2017 reform on surgeon's accessibility to simulation-based training, five years after the implementation of the program, and to gauge surgeon satisfaction.
Methods: A 27-item national online survey was sent to all surgical residents and fellows in the 13 surgical specialties.

High intensity focused ultrasounds (HIFU) are being increasingly advocated as a useful tool in the management of focal drug-resistant epilepsy. Our aim was to review current literature on the topic and perform an inventory of open trials assessing HIFU effectiveness and safety in epilepsy management. To do so, a review was conducted and yielded one prospective clinical trials, two case reports and one safety study were retrieved, indicating that HIFU is still in its infancy when it comes to focal drug-resistant epilepsy therapy.

Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the real-life clinical and radiological efficacy of darvadstrocel injection into complex perianal fistulas in Crohn's disease. Secondary endpoints were to assess symptomatic efficacy, adverse effects and factors associated with complete combined clinical-radiological response (deep remission).
Methods: After marketing the product in France, all first patients treated consecutively were included.

Background: Annotated data are foundational to applications of supervised machine learning. However, there seems to be a lack of common language used in the field of surgical data science. The aim of this study is to review the process of annotation and semantics used in the creation of SPM for minimally invasive surgery videos.

Mangrove sediments are known to be potentially active reducing zones for nitrogen removal. The goal of this work was to investigate the potential for nitrate reduction in marine mangrove sediments along a canal impacted by anthropogenic activity (Guadeloupe, Lesser Antilles). To this end, the effect of nitrate concentration, organic carbon load, and hydraulic retention time was assessed as factors affecting these nitrate reduction rates.

Study Objective: To highlight the anatomical keys to safely performing an excision of deep endometriosis nodules of the sciatic nerve DESIGN: We present a didactic video combining an anatomical three-dimensional reconstruction of the pelvis using the Anatomage table and a surgical dissection video of the removal of deep endometriosis nodules of the left sciatic nerve [1]. The patient's approval was obtained. The patient consented that this surgical video be used for publication.

There is a large heterogeneity among patients presenting with cardiogenic shock (CS). It is crucial to better apprehend this heterogeneity in order to adapt treatments and improve prognoses in these severe patients. Notably, the presence (or absence) of a pre-existing history of chronic heart failure (CHF) at time of CS onset may be a significant part of this heterogeneity, and data focusing on this aspect are lacking.

To manage a growing number of users and an ever-increasing demand for bandwidth, future 5th Generation (5G) cellular networks will combine different radio access technologies (cellular, satellite, and WiFi, among others) and different types of equipment (pico-cells, femto-cells, small-cells, macro-cells, etc.). Multi-connectivity is an emerging paradigm aiming to leverage this heterogeneous architecture.

Xeroderma pigmentosum group C protein (XPC) acts as a DNA damage recognition factor for bulky adducts and as an initiator of global genome nucleotide excision repair (GG-NER). Novel insights have shown that the role of XPC is not limited to NER, but is also implicated in DNA damage response (DDR), as well as in cell fate decisions upon stress. Moreover, XPC has a proteolytic role through its interaction with p53 and casp-2S.

Non-tubal ectopic pregnancies represent fewer than 10% of all ectopic pregnancies. However, they are associated with a high rate of mortality due to late diagnosis and uterine horn rupture which requires radical emergency surgical management. Cornuectomy via laparoscopy is a treatment of choice.

Objectives: Few studies have reported clinical COVID-19 sequelae six months (M6) after hospital discharge, but none has studied symptom severity.
Methods: Prevalence and severity of 7 symptoms were estimated until M6 using the self-administered influenza severity scale in COVID-19 hospitalized patients enrolled in the French COVID cohort. Factors associated with severity were assessed by logistic regression.
The study presented in this paper concerns the design and evaluation of curriculum material that supports mathematics teachers' understanding and enactment of reform curricula and innovative teaching practices. Our focus is on curriculum material supporting mathematics teachers' practices combining the use of digital technology and the development of student autonomy. We refer to the theoretical framework of the Documentational Approach to Didactics, which considers teachers' documentation work as a central lever for the evolution of teachers' practices.
