Background: Dual disorders (DDs) involve the coexistence of a substance use disorder (SUD) with another mental illness, often from the psychotic and affective categories. They are quite common in clinical practice and present significant challenges for both diagnosis and treatment. This study explores the effectiveness of brexpiprazole, a third-generation antipsychotic, in an Italian sample of individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia spectrum disorder and a comorbid SUD.

Background: Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a debilitating chronic skin disease; its therapeutic approach often requires combined medical and surgical treatment.
Methods: The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety of the surgical approach combined with different pharmacological treatments, evaluating the proportion of patients achieving the hidradenitis suppurativa clinical response (HiSCR), along with the incidence of postoperative complications, and local recurrence. A retrospective study of HS patients (Hurley I-III) presenting at least one skin lesion requiring surgery was performed.

Objective: We evaluated the impact of intermittently scanned continuous glucose monitoring(is-CGM)over self-monitoring of blood glucose(SMBG) in the context of diabetes self-management education (DSME) in sub-optimally controlled type 2 diabetes(T2D) in a multi-ethnicsetting.
Research Design And Method: Randomized-controlled, open-label trial (NCT04564911), of T2D with HbA1c ≥ 7.5-≤10 %, on oral agents with/without basal insulin was carried out.
Musculoskeletal pain is a common symptom of Parkinson's disease (PD) that is not adequately treated with current dopaminergic drugs. This pilot study sought to investigate the effect of focal muscle vibration (fMV) on a group of Parkinson's disease patients suffering from chronic cervical pain. In addition to conventional physiotherapy, twenty-two patients with idiopathic Parkinson's disease (Hoehn and Yahr stages II-III) received three weeks of bilateral focal musclevibration to the trapezius muscles.

The study's goal is to look into the relationship between scoliosis, balance, and cervical pain in Parkinson's disease patients. Cross-sectional, pilot study.

Objective: The aim of this cost-effectiveness analysis was to estimate the monetary cost required to achieve a gain in health benefit. An analytic model to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of a topical medical device comprising a mixture of hyaluronic acid and amino acids (HA+AA medical device) (Vulnamin, Professional Dietetics SpA, Italy) as compared to standard of care (SoC) for hard-to-heal (chronic) wounds is presented.
Method: Retrospective data was analysed from a cohort of patients as well as information from published literature.

Emerging treatments for alcohol dependence reveal an intricate interplay of neurobiological, psychological, and circumstantial factors that contribute to Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). The approved strategies balancing these factors involve extensive manipulations of neurotransmitter systems such as GABA, Glutamate, Dopamine, Serotonin, and Acetylcholine. Innovative developments are engaging mechanisms such as GABA reuptake inhibition and allosteric modulation.

Megaprostheses are well-known, reliable, and effective reconstruction prostheses used in oncologic surgery for limb salvage in patients affected by primary or metastatic bone tumors. Rehabilitation plays a major role after MUTARS replacement, with the aim of improving function after surgery and maintaining the highest possible quality of life. Only a few studies have been published about the use of megaprostheses for the upper limb.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to analyze real-life data from a cohort of adult patients receiving atezolizumab in combination with carboplatin and etoposide for first-line treatment of ES-SCLC, in order to assess relative dose intensity (RDI), time-to-treatment discontinuation (TTD), time-to-treatment failure (TTF), progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS) of treatments as well as the correlation between these outcomes.
Methods: An observational retrospective study was conducted. All patients treated with atezolizumab combined with carboplatin and etoposide for first-line treatment of ES-SCLC were included.

Background: According to scientific literature, burnout can be described as a multidimensional syndrome with three fundamental dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment. Every day, clown-doctors, play therapists, teachers and volunteers, such as ceramic art therapists, work in pediatric cancer wards to improve the quality of life of hospitalized children and activate positive resources during their therapeutic journey.
Methods: This study investigated burnout levels and the relationship between work-related stress and resilience in a total of 36 operators (clown-doctors, in-hospital teachers, play therapists, and ceramic art therapists), working at the Unit of Pediatric Oncology of IRCCS A.
Introduction: Over the last few decades, the use of neo/adjuvant therapies has significantly increased the number of breast cancer survivors who experience chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). To date, few, low-efficacy, pharmacological remedies exist to manage this side effect. For this reason, alternative treatments are increasingly being investigated as possible strategies to prevent or promote faster recovery from CIPN.

Objective: Surgical treatment of spinal dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs) has been reported to be superior to endovascular treatment in terms of occlusion of the fistula. Despite the increased availability of digital 3D exoscopes, the potential benefits of using an exoscope in spinal DAVF surgery have not been studied. The purpose of this study was to report and compare the results of exoscope- and microscope-assisted surgery for spinal DAVFs.
