Background And Objective: A compact nidus is a well-known feature of good outcome after treatment in brain arteriovenous malformations (bAVM). This item, included in the "Supplementary AVM grading system" by Lawton, is subjectively evaluated on DSA. The present study aimed to assess whether quantitative nidus compacity along with other angio-architectural bAVM features were predictive of angiographic cure or the occurrence of procedure-related complications.

Glutamate (Glu) is the major excitatory transmitter in the nervous system. Impairment of its vesicular release by β-amyloid (Aβ) oligomers is thought to participate in pathological processes leading to Alzheimer's disease. However, it remains unclear whether soluble Aβ oligomers affect intravesicular amounts of Glu or their release in the brain, or both.

is a ubiquitous mold that can cause severe infections in immunocompromised patients, typically manifesting as invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA). Adaptive and innate immune cells that respond to are present in the endogenous repertoire of patients with IPA but are infrequent and cannot be consistently isolated and expanded for adoptive immunotherapy. Therefore, we gene-engineered -specific chimeric antigen receptor (Af-CAR) T cells and demonstrate their ability to confer antifungal reactivity in preclinical models in vitro and in vivo.

Adoptive transfer of T cells expressing chimeric antigen receptors (CAR) has shown remarkable clinical efficacy against advanced B-cell malignancies but not yet against solid tumors. Here, we used fluorescent imaging microscopy and assays to compare the early functional responses (migration, Ca, and cytotoxicity) of CD20 and EGFR CAR T cells upon contact with malignant B cells and carcinoma cells. Our results indicated that CD20 CAR T cells rapidly form productive ICAM-1-dependent conjugates with their targets.

Introduction: Node involvement is one of the main prognostic factors for cervical cancer. Para-aortic lymph node (PALN) assessment is crucial for treating advanced cervical cancer, to define irradiation fields. Objective of this study was to develop a score predicting para-aortic lymph node involvement in patients with advanced cervical cancer.

To determine if the time-to-chemotherapy (TTC) after primary macroscopic complete cytoreductive surgery (CRS) influences recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). We conducted an observational multicenter retrospective cohort analysis of women with EOC treated from September 2006 to November 2016 in nine institutions in France (FRANCOGYN research group) with maintained EOC databases. We included women with EOC (all FIGO stages) who underwent primary complete macroscopic CRS prior to platinum-based adjuvant chemotherapy.

Study Question: Could the anogenital distance (AGD) as assessed by MRI (MRI-AGD) be a diagnostic tool for endometriosis?
Summary Answer: A short MRI-AGD is a strong diagnostic marker of endometriosis.
What Is Known Already: A short clinically assessed AGD (C-AGD) is associated with the presence of endometriosis.
Study Design Size Duration: This study is a re-analysis of previously published data from a case-control study.

Objective: Progressive myelopathy causes severe handicap in men with adrenomyeloneuropathy (AMN), an X-linked disorder due to ABCD1 pathogenic variants. At present, treatments are symptomatic but disease-modifying therapies are under evaluation. Given the small effect size of clinical scales in AMN, biomarkers with higher effect size are needed.

Objectives: A recent randomized controlled trial has reconsidered the use of laparoscopy for treating patients with early-stage cervical cancer with radical hysterectomy (RH). We aimed to evaluate if surgical approach had an impact on surgical and oncological outcomes in these patients in a French setting.
Methods: Data of 1706 patients with cervical cancer treated between 1996 and 2017 were extracted from maintained databases of 9 French University hospitals.

Evaluation of immune responses to adeno-associated virus (AAV)-mediated gene therapies prior to and following dose administration plays a key role in determining therapeutic safety and efficacy. This report describes up to 3 years of immunogenicity data following administration of valoctocogene roxaparvovec (BMN 270), an AAV5-mediated gene therapy encoding human B domain-deleted FVIII (hFVIII-SQ) in a phase 1/2 clinical study of adult males with severe hemophilia A. Patients with pre-existing humoral immunity to AAV5 or with a history of FVIII inhibitors were excluded from the trial.

Leptomeningeal carcinomatosis (LC) is an unmet medical need associated with death in 4-6 weeks without treatment, delayed by 4 months in some patients with favorable prognosis and aggressive multimodal therapy. Unfortunately, most clinical trials excluded patients with LC, and the best management remains unknown. Here we present the first report of a LC secondary to HR positive breast cancer with a complete response to CDK4/6 inhibitors abemaciclib, letrozole and hippocampal-avoidance whole-brain radiotherapy.

Background And Objective: according to the latest ESMO-ESGO recommendations, laparotomy is the standard surgical approach to treat and stage patients with presumed early stage epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). A few studies have investigated the efficacy and the safety of laparoscopy for the staging of early stage EOC, and this question is still in the center of debates. Recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) benefits of the minimally invasive surgery (MIS) have still to be specified.

Background: Pompe disease (PD) is a neuromuscular disorder caused by deficiency of acidalpha-glucosidase (GAA), leading to motor and respiratory dysfunctions. Available Gaa knock-out (KO) mouse models do not accurately mimic PD, particularly its highly impaired respiratory phenotype.
Methods: Here we developed a new mouse model of PD crossing Gaa KO with DBA2/J mice.

Background: Several studies suggest significant relationships between migration and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) but there are discrepant results. Given that no studies to date have included a pathological control group, the specificity of the results in ASD can be questioned.
Aims: To compare the migration experience (premigration, migratory trip, postmigration) in ASD and non-ASD pathological control groups, and study the relationships between migration and autism severity.

Study Question: Could anogenital distance (AGD) be a non-invasive marker of endometriosis and correlated to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine revised score (r-ASRM) and ENZIAN classifications?
Summary Answer: Surgically and histologically proven endometriosis is associated with a short AGD in women of reproductive age but not correlated either to the severity or to the location of the disease.
What Is Known Already: AGD is a marker of intrauterine androgen exposure and exposure to oestrogen-like chemicals such as phthalates. Moreover, exposure to endocrine disruptors, such as organochlorine chemicals, is associated with endometriosis.

Judd-Ofelt (J-O) spectroscopic knowledge of a rare-earth-doped luminescent material is crucial to its application. Although a large number of papers with regard to the J-O study of various rare-earth-doped luminescent materials have been reported each year, few papers presented the errors of the J-O intensity parameters Ω (i = 2, 4, 6) and radiative probabilities evaluated from them. Present study focuses on the error evaluation of the J-O parameters and radiative probabilities.

Background: Problem gambling is a growing public health issue that is characterized by low rates of face-to-face help seeking. Helplines and real-time chat services could reduce shortfalls in treatment.
Objective: This study aimed to (1) describe the characteristics of gamblers contacting a government-funded help service, (2) study the evolution of their characteristics over time, (3) evaluate the differences between subgroups (ie, gender, media used for gambling, and media used to contact the service), and (4) explore factors influencing referral to care.
