Lymphomas of T-follicular helper origin (T-follicular helper-cell lymphoma [TFHL]) are often accompanied by an expansion of B-immunoblasts, occasionally with Hodgkin/Reed-Sternberg-like (HRS-like) cells, making the differential diagnosis with classic Hodgkin lymphoma (CHL) difficult. We compared the morphologic, immunophenotypic, and molecular features of 15 TFHL and 12 CHL samples and discussed 4 challenging cases of uncertain diagnosis. Compared with CHL, TFHL disclosed more frequent sparing of subcortical sinuses, high-endothelium venule proliferation, dendritic cell meshwork expansion, T-cell atypia, and aberrant T-cell immunophenotype.

Contribution and limits of clinical specimens for the screening of intestinal multi-drug-resistant bacteria in view of laboratory automation.

J Hosp Infect

September 2017

Laboratory of Bacteriology and Infection Control, Department of Microbiology, Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris, University Hospital Henri Mondor, Créteil, France; University Paris East Créteil, Créteil, France. Electronic address:

The detection of multi-drug-resistant bacteria carriers constitutes a race against time for infection preventionists. Alongside standard analysis for diagnostic purposes and a rectal screening strategy, the authors tested a heavy-loaded selective method against 562 clinical specimens from 439 patients to detect extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producing (ESBL) or carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE) and vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE). The approach identified five more specimens positive for ESBL-producing Enterobacteriaceae than standard analysis, and six out of nine known VRE/CPE carriers (three new CPE/VRE strains were also identified in this cohort).

Role of radiation therapy in non-melanoma cancers, lymphomas and sarcomas of the skin: Systematic review and best practice in 2016.

Crit Rev Oncol Hematol

March 2016

Radiation Oncology Department of Henri Mondor University Hospital and University Paris-East Creteil (UPEC), Créteil, France; Henri Mondor Breast Center, University Hospital, Créteil, France. Electronic address:

Radiotherapy (RT) has been used for the treatment of skin cancers since very early after the discovery of X-rays. Indications for radiotherapy in non-melanoma cancers are controversial, and are usually decided according to the tumor type and the possibility of curing the patient with surgery. The introduction of sophisticated surgery techniques and the information of the general population on potential late radiation-induced toxicity and carcinogenesis have led to limiting radiation indications in the dermatologist community.
