A Multicenter ICET-A Survey on Adherence to Annual Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT) Screening in Transfusion-Dependent Thalassemia (TDT) Patients - The Expert Clinicians' Opinion on Factors Influencing the Adherence and on Alternative Strategies for Adherence Optimization.

Background: Current guidelines for screening glucose dysregulation (GD) in patients with transfusion-dependent thalassemia (TDT) recommend an annual 2-hour oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) starting at the age of 10 years.

Objective: Assessment of adherence to OGTT screening in patients with TDT.

Methods: A questionnaire was distributed to 18 Thalassemia Centers in 10 different countries, targeting factors influencing adherence to annual OGTT screening in specialized multidisciplinary pediatric and adult TDT units and identifying strategies to improve adherence to OGTT in TDT patients.

Citrate Anticoagulation in Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy: Multicenter PICU Study of Filter-Related Outcomes.

Objectives: To examine citrate anticoagulation in continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) in the PICU.

Design: Post hoc analysis of a curated, multicenter dataset collected from January 1, 2022, to June 1, 2023.

Setting: Seven PICUs in Turkey.

Objectives: To investigate the effects of various arm positions on median nerve conduction studies (NCSs).

Methods: This prospective cohort study, conducted at Adana City Training and Research Hospital between January and July 2023, included 20 healthy participants. Median NCSs were performed on the participants in three different standing positions with the elbow as the stimulation point: 1) with the arm adducted (P1), 2) with the arm anteflexed (P2), and 3) with the arm raised upwards (P3).

Visual evoked potentials in patients with congenital color vision deficiency.

Background/aim: Congenital color vision deficiency (CCVD) is an eye disease characterized by abnormalities in the cone cells in the photoreceptor layer. Visual evoked potentials (VEPs) are electrophysiological tests that physiologically examine the optic nerve, other visual pathways, and the visual cortex. The aim of this research was to determine whether there are VEP abnormalities in CCVD patients.

We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of trastuzumab emtansine in patients with metastatic breast cancer previously treated with pertuzumab plus trastuzumab and taxane. We reviewed the medical records of patients who were diagnosed with Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER-2) positive metastatic breast cancer and received pertuzumab and then TDM-1 between January 2014 and January 2021 from twenty- five cancer centers. The Kaplan- Meier method estimated progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS).

Voice aspects in children with precocious puberty.

Purpose: In this prospective study, we aimed to investigate the difference in voice acoustic parameters between girls with idiopathic central precocious puberty (ICPP) and those who developed normally during prepuberty.

Materials And Methods: Our study recruited 54 girls diagnosed with ICPP and randomly sampled 51 healthy prepubertal girls as the control. Tanner stages, circulating hormone levels and bone ages of the girls with ICPP and the age and body mass index (BMI) of all participants were recorded.

Evaluation of retinal and peripapillary vessel density and subfoveal choroidal thickness changes in patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass: An OCTA study.

Purpose: We aimed to investigate hemodynamic changes in the retina, peripapillary area, and choroid in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).

Methods: This prospective case series included 35 eyes of 35 patients. Vessel density (VD) of superficial capillary plexus, deep capillary plexus, radial peripapillary capillary, foveal avascular zone area, and subfoveal choroidal thickness changes were evaluated using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) 1 day before and 2 weeks after surgery.

Purpose: In this study, we aimed to determine the differences in normospermic, oligospermic and azoospermic infertile men by performing voice analysis and to discuss this in the light of the literature.

Methods: 71 male patients who applied to the urology clinic due to infertility and were then referred to us were included in the study. Hormone analysis and spermiogram were requested from the patients for routine infertility tests.

Most patients are sporadic; however, recurrent and familial cases have been associated with RAN-binding protein 2 (RANBP2) mutation. Usability of Real-Time Elastography for the Diagnosis of Primary Open Angle and Pseudoexfoliation Glaucoma.

Objectives: This study aims to investigate real-time elastography (RTE) use in the evaluation of the optic nerve head (ONH) and peripapillary structures for the diagnosis of primary open angle (POAG) and pseudoexfoliation (PEX) glaucoma.

Methods: This case-controlled study included 30 patients with POAG, 30 patients with PEX glaucoma, and 30 age-matched control subjects. All of the participants underwent comprehensive ophthalmological examinations covering vessel density of optic nerve and retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness measurements with optical cohorence tomography angiography and mean deviation (MD) measurements with Humphrey II Perimetry Visual Field Analyzer.

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-associated mucormycosis (CAM) is a relatively new concept in the literature that emerged during the pandemic. Bibliometric analysis is a type of analysis that uses mathematical and statistical methods to study the formal properties of knowledge areas. This study aimed to reveal the main themes, conceptual structures, and trends of bibliometric studies on mucormycosis in 2 different periods, pre-and during the pandemic.

The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index is a reliable marker of insulin resistance. We aimed to investigate the relationship between the TyG index and aortic intima-media thickness (IMT) in individuals without diabetes mellitus and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease undergoing transoesophageal echocardiography due to suspected structural heart disease. L-serine is an important amino acid that ensures neuronal differentiation and development. The SLC1A4 gene encodes proteins that transport amino acids such as serine, alanine, threonine and glutamate into neurons. Pathogenic variants in SLC1A4 gene interneuron transport of L-serine impaired and a severe global developmental delay occurs, characterized by microcephaly and refractory seizures.

Evaluation of subclinical ocular involvement in patients with deficiency of adenosine deaminase 2 (DADA2).

Purpose: To evaluate changes in the peripapillary, macular, and choroidal microvasculature in the eyes of patients with deficiency of adenosine deaminase 2 (DADA2) and no clinical signs of ocular involvement.

Methods: The study included 12 eyes of 12 patients with DADA2 and 24 eyes of 24 healthy subjects. The foveal avascular zone (FAZ), macular vessel densities (VDs) in the superficial and deep retinal capillary plexuses, peripapillary VDs, and choroidal thickness were evaluated by optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA).

[Treatment with Intravenous Acyclovir Desensitization for Severe Acyclovir Allergy: A Case of Herpes Encephalitis].

Herpes simplex virus (HSV) is a sporadic viral encephalitis agent that causes high mortality and morbidity, accompanied by neurological dysfunction findings. Acyclovir is the only antiviral treatment option that should be initiated in all patients with suspected encephalitis as soon as possible. Acyclovir is rarely possible to cause allergic reactions.

Optic nerve ultrasonography in the evaluation of the relationship between arachnoid cyst and headache.

Aim: This study is aimed to show the difference between optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) values in migraine patients with and without arachnoid cysts from migraine patients and control groups, and to evaluate the relationship with the arachnoid cyst size on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and their clinical severity.

Methods: This cross-sectional study included pediatric patients who were previously diagnosed with migraine and the control group. The patients consist of 3 groups.
