The edaphic factor and orchids: Gymnadenia conopsea from contrasting geologies in the Central Balkans.

Comparative analysis of antioxidant activity and content of (poly)phenolic compounds in cabernet sauvignon and merlot wines of Slovenian and Serbian vineyards.

The individual (poly)phenols of red wines cultivated in two different Western Balkan wine-growing regions were determined using the HPLC method, while the ABTS and DPPH tests were employed to investigate antioxidant activity. The reduction potential of antioxidants was determined by FRAP assay. Five distinct classes of phenolic compounds, including phenolic acids, flavan-3-ols, flavonols, stilbenes, and anthocyanins, were identified.

A networked station system for high-resolution wind nowcasting in air traffic operations: A data-augmented deep learning approach.

This study introduces a high-resolution wind nowcasting model designed for aviation applications at Madeira International Airport, a location known for its complex wind patterns. By using data from a network of six meteorological stations and deep learning techniques, the produced model is capable of predicting wind speed and direction up to 30-minute ahead with 1-minute temporal resolution. The optimized architecture demonstrated robust predictive performance across all forecast horizons.

Evidence of strong O-H⋯C interactions involving apical pyramidane carbon atoms as hydrogen atom acceptors.

Using high-level quantum chemical calculations, we predicted a strong O-H⋯C interaction between the apical carbon atoms of pyramidane and its derivatives and water molecules. Analysis of calculated electrostatic potential maps showed that there are areas of strong negative potential above apical carbon atoms in all studied structures. The results of quantum chemical calculations showed that the O-H⋯C interaction between the hydrogen atom of water and the apical carbon atom of pyramidane derivatives with four -CH substituents is unexpectedly strong, Δ = -7.

Rare association of posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) with hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes and low platelets (HELLP) syndrome - A case report and review of the literature.

Introduction: The hemolysis-elevated liver enzymes-low platelet counts (HELLP) syndrome and posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) are rare conditions that can complicate pregnancy and the early postpartum period. Although both are closely related to hypertensive pregnancy disorders, their association is rarely described, so the outcome of these patients remains unknown. We present a case report of PRES associated with HELLP syndrome and a review of all previously published cases, including demographic characteristics, clinical presentation, treatment, and outcome.

Methods: Cross-sectional analysis was conducted in 35 540 patients with HeFH across 50 countries, in the EAS FH Studies Collaboration registry. This study aimed to identify potential candidates for developing commercial bacterial cultures, which could be used to produce cheese with distinct sensory qualities and added value as a functional food product. A total of 83 LAB isolates were tested for their ability to grow under different salt concentrations and temperatures; their acidifying, proteolytic, and lipolytic activities; and their production of diacetyl and exopolysaccharides (EPSs).
