With evolving diagnostic criteria and the advent of new oral and parenteral therapies for MS, most current diagnostic and treatment algorithms need revision and updating. The diagnosis of MS relies on incorporating clinical and paraclinical findings to prove dissemination in space and in time, and exclude alternative diseases that can explain the findings at hand. The differential diagnostic workup should be guided by clinical and laboratory red flags to avoid unnecessary tests.

A new extracellular chitinase (called ChiA-Pt70) was produced and purified from a newly isolated Paenibacillus timonensis strain LK-DZ15. The maximum chitinase activity recorded after 44-h of incubation at 30 °C was 11,500 U/mL. Pure enzyme was obtained after ammonium sulphate precipitation (40-70%) followed by sequential column chromatographies on fast performance liquid chromatography (FPLC) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).

This study was devoted to polysaccharides extraction (Chitin and Chitosan) from Penicillium camembertii cell wall. A culture on solid medium was adopted under carefully selected conditions, appropriate to mycelium growth: duration 6 days, medium YPGA and pH 5. The temperature was adjusted (20 °C to 28 °C) in order to study the effect of temperature on Chitin/Chitosan production.

Aim: The aim of the present study was to define the onset of puberty in Tazegzawt ram lambs, an Algerian sheep breed in endangered status with a small population in its local area.
Materials And Methods: Body growth (body weight and thoracic perimeter), scrotal circumference (SC), penis development stages, and seminal parameters (volume, concentration, and motility) were measured. Data were recorded at fortnightly intervals in 10 animals from 9 to 49 weeks of age.

Due to increased demands for greater expectation in relation to quality, convenience, safety and extended shelf-life, combined with growing demand from retailers for cost-effective extensions of fresh muscle foods' shelf-life, the food packaging industry quickly developed to meet these expectations. During the last few decades, modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) of foods has been a promising area of research, but much remains to be known regarding the use of unconventional gases such carbon monoxide (CO). The use of CO for meat and seafood packaging is not allowed in most countries due to the potential toxic effect, and its use is controversial in some countries.

We examined the removal of abamectin by the electro-Fenton (EF) process and the feasibility of biological treatment after degradation. The effect of the operating parameters showed that abamectin (Aba) degradation was enhanced with increasing temperature. Response surface analysis of the central composite design led to the following optimal conditions for the abatement of chemical oxygen demand: 45.

Beef (LL) was no aged (LL0), aged for 7 days (LL7) and 14 days (LL14) under vacuum at 1 ± 1 °C. The obtained beefsteaks were packaged in high oxygen (Hi-O) with active packaging (AP) during 13-21 days at 1 ± 1 °C. Redness (CIE a* values), metmyoglobin percentage (MetMb%), total flora (PCA), thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBA-RS), instrumental tenderness (Warner-Bratzler shear force: WBSF), and sensory analyses were performed.

The main purpose of this paper is twofold. First, the observability and the left invertibility properties and the observable canonical form for nonlinear fractional-order systems are introduced. By using a transformation, we show that these properties can be deduced from an equivalent nonlinear integer-order system.

Stored fish are frequently contaminated by foodborne pathogens. Lipid oxidation and microbial growth during storage are also important factors in the shelf-life of fresh fish. In order to ensure the safety of fish items, there is a need for control measures which are effective through natural inhibitory antimicrobials.

This paper deals with pole placement PI-state feedback controller design to control an integer order system. The fractional aspect of the control law is introduced by a dynamic state feedback as u(t)=K(p)x(t)+K(I)I(α)(x(t)). The closed loop characteristic polynomial is thus fractional for which the roots are complex to calculate.

A statistical methodology, combining Plackett-Burman design with Box-Behnken design, was applied to optimize the oil extraction process from olive pomace using hexane as solvent. Plackett-Burman design was used in the first step to evaluate the effects of five independent variables on the oil extraction yield. Temperature of extraction, time of contact, solvent-to-solids ratio and moisture content of the olive pomace were identified as significant independent variables and were further optimized by using response surface methodology based on Box-Behnken design.
