Background: The median and radial nerves are at risk of iatrogenic injury when performing arthroscopic arthrolysis with anterior capsulectomy. Although prior anatomic studies have identified the position of these nerves, little is known about how elbow positioning and joint insufflation might influence nerve locations.
Questions/purposes: In a cadaver model, we sought to determine whether (1) the locations of the median and radial nerves change with variation of elbow positioning; and whether (2) flexion and joint insufflation increase the distance of the median and radial nerves to osseous landmarks after correcting for differences in size of the cadaveric specimens.

Objectives: This study seeks to develop and validate the 19-item German version of the Child Oral Health Impact Profile (COHIP-G19), an instrument to assess the oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) in children and adolescents.
Materials And Methods: The 19 items of the original English-language COHIP were translated into German using an established forward-backward approach. For the assessment of the psychometric properties of the COHIP-G19, children and adolescents aged 7-17 years came from two samples: 112 patients were consecutively recruited at a university-based orthodontic clinic and 313 came from a convenience sample of students in public schools.

Introduction: Nerve transection has been described as complication of arthroscopic elbow arthrolysis. Therefore, the goal of this study was to define bony landmarks for intraoperative orientation regarding the location of the median and radial nerve.
Methods: In 22 formalin-fixated upper extremities, the radial and median nerves were dissected and marked with respect to their native course.

Francois Gigot de la Peyronie, surgeon to Louis XV of France, has become synonymous with the rather enigmatic though not uncommon condition of Peyronie's disease (PD), a localized connective tissue disorder of the penile tunica albuginea. The true prevalence of Peyronie's disease is unknown. Therefore, we decided to perform an evaluation of existing epidemiological data.

Bayer is developing vardenafil, an orally active phosphodiesterase (PDE) 5 inhibitor for the potential treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) [314382]. NDAs were filed in September 2001 in the US and Mexico [423096], and vardenafil was submitted for Canadian approval in October 2001. As of November 2001, Bayer was expecting a response from the FDA in the second half of 2002 [429499]; the EMEA accepted a filing in January 2002, following a December 2001 submission [438163].

Objectives: Temporary genital numbness is a common side effect of long-distance cycling; cases of impotence have even been reported. Recent reports have shown that perineal compression leads to a decrease in penile blood flow. Reduced oxygen tension leads to penile fibrosis, which works counterproductively to the achievement of an erection.

In contrast to the impressive advances made in somatic research on erectile dysfunction, psychogenic erectile dysfunction is usually treated as a monolithic block. In this study, we evaluated the erectogenic power of creative-dynamic image synthesis in men with psychogenic erectile dysfunction. Sixty-nine men with a mean age of 46 y, suffering from erectile dysfunction of no known organic cause, were entered in a placebo-controlled study in which the erectogenic power of imagination, yohimbine and a placebo were compared.

Cyclists often complain of genital numbness and even of impotence. The purpose of this study was to determine if perineal compression during cycling causes changes in the penile blood supply, impotence and penile numbness. Forty healthy athletic men with a mean age of 30 +/- 5.

Purpose: Considerable public and media attention has been directed in recent years toward comparing performance at individual hospitals. So-called death league tables have been published in the media, ranking hospitals according to crude mortality rates. Crude rates of mortality and morbidity are clearly misleading.

Purpose: Female sexual dysfunction is a new, rapidly expanding area of sexual medicine. Female sexual arousal disorder may, in part, be due to decreased pelvic blood flow. Therefore, we developed a simple noninvasive reproducible technique to measure vaginal and minor labial blood flow.
