Purpose: To prospectively evaluate ferumoxtran-10-enhanced magnetic resonance (MR) imaging for nodal staging in patients with urinary bladder cancer.
Materials And Methods: Fifty-eight patients with proved bladder cancer were enrolled. Results of MR imaging performed before and after injection of ferumoxtran-10 were compared with histopathologic results in surgically removed lymph nodes.

Objective: To investigate the effects of infant orthopedics (IO) on the language skills of children with complete unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP).
Design: In a prospective randomized clinical trial (Dutchcleft), two groups of children with complete UCLP were followed up longitudinally: one group was treated with IO based on a modified Zurich approach in the first year of life (IO group); the other group did not receive this treatment (non-IO group). At the ages of 2, 2(1/2), 3, and 6 years, language development was evaluated in 12 children (six IO and six non-IO).

The aims of this investigation were to calculate the pharmacokinetic parameters and to identify parameters, based on individual plasma concentration-time curves of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid in cats, that may govern the observed differences in absorption of both drugs. The evaluation was based on the data from plasma concentration-time curves obtained following a single-dose, open, randomised, two-way crossover phase-I study, each involving 24 female cats treated with two Amoxi-Clav formulations (formulation A was Clavubactin and formulation was B Synulox; 80/20 mg, 24 animals, 48 drug administrations). Plasma amoxicillin and clavulanic acid concentrations were determined using validated bioassay methods.

The aims of this investigation were to calculate the pharmacokinetic parameters and to identify parameters, based on individual plasma concentration-time curves of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid in dogs, that may govern the observed differences in absorption of both drugs. The evaluation was based on the data from plasma concentration-time curves obtained following a single dose in an open, randomized, two-way crossover study involving 24 male Beagle dogs treated with two Amoxi-Clav formulations (A Clavubactin and B Synulox, each with 200/50 mg). Plasma amoxicillin and clavulanic acid concentrations were determined using validated bioassay methods.

Background: The dog is regarded to be a valid model to test the effects of 5alpha-reductase inhibitors on prostatic growth. However, limited information is available on the characteristics or even existence of 5alpha-reductase isozymes in this species.
Methods: Here, we set out to clone the cDNA of the dog isoforms of 5alpha-reductase type I and type II by a degenerate cloning strategy and to assess the tissue distribution of both transcripts and the enzymatic activity of the isozymes.

Steroid receptor assays have clinical relevance in selecting women who would benefit from endocrine intervention. As the degree of benefit from endocrine therapy is directly related to the quantity of receptor present in the tumour, the quality of the steroid receptor assays is important. Moreover, since patients entered in multi-centre trials often include stratification based on the receptor status, receptor assays should be comparable between different institutes.
