Aptamer-based rapid diagnosis for point-of-care application.

Microfluid Nanofluidics

January 2023

Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering Technology, University Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Lebuhraya Tun Razak, Gambang, 26300 Kunatan, Pahang Malaysia.

Aptasensors have attracted considerable interest and widespread application in point-of-care testing worldwide. One of the biggest challenges of a point-of-care (POC) is the reduction of treatment time compared to central facilities that diagnose and monitor the applications. Over the past decades, biosensors have been introduced that offer more reliable, cost-effective, and accurate detection methods.

In this study, magnesium (Mg)-based nanocomposites reinforced with silica (SiO) nanoparticles were developed using the powder metallurgy process, and their mechanical and corrosion behavior were assessed. Mg-alloy AZ31 served as the matrix material, and two different weight percentages of SiO nanoparticles were used as filler. According to the microstructural analysis, the composite generated a MgSi phase as a result of SiO dissociating during the sintering process.

This critical review for anaerobic degradation of complex organic compounds like butyrate using reactors has been enormously applied for biogas production. Biogas production rate has a great impact on: reactor granulation methanogenesis, nutrient content, shear velocity, organic loading and loss of nutrients taking place in the reactor continuously. Various technologies have been applied to closed anaerobic reactors to improve biogas production and treatment efficiency.

Word sense disambiguation (WSD) is the process of identifying an appropriate sense for an ambiguous word. With the complexity of human languages in which a single word could yield different meanings, WSD has been utilized by several domains of interests such as search engines and machine translations. The literature shows a vast number of techniques used for the process of WSD.

Sentiment analysis techniques are increasingly exploited to categorize the opinion text to one or more predefined sentiment classes for the creation and automated maintenance of review-aggregation websites. In this paper, a Malay sentiment analysis classification model is proposed to improve classification performances based on the semantic orientation and machine learning approaches. First, a total of 2,478 Malay sentiment-lexicon phrases and words are assigned with a synonym and stored with the help of more than one Malay native speaker, and the polarity is manually allotted with a score.

February 2018

Faculty of Engineering Technology, University Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Lebuhraya Tun Razak, 26300, Pahang, Malaysia.

This study explores optimization of resistance load (R-Load) of four silicon nanowire transistor (SiNWT)-based static random-access memory (SRAM) cell. Noise margins and inflection voltage of butterfly characteristics with static power consumption of SRAM cell are used as limiting factors in this optimization. Range of R-Load used in this study was 20-1000 KΩ with Vdd = 1 V.

An intelligent load shedding scheme using neural networks and neuro-fuzzy.

Int J Neural Syst

December 2009

Faculty of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, University Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Lebuhraya Tun Razak 26300 Gambang, Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia.

Load shedding is some of the essential requirement for maintaining security of modern power systems, particularly in competitive energy markets. This paper proposes an intelligent scheme for fast and accurate load shedding using neural networks for predicting the possible loss of load at the early stage and neuro-fuzzy for determining the amount of load shed in order to avoid a cascading outage. A large scale electrical power system has been considered to validate the performance of the proposed technique in determining the amount of load shed.
