The development of cancer mouse models is still needed for the identification and preclinical validation of novel therapeutic targets in colorectal cancer, which is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Europe. The purpose of this study was to determine the most accurate tumour cell injection method to obtain suitable peritoneal metastasis (PM) for subsequent therapeutic treatments. Here, we grafted murine colon carcinoma CT-26 cells expressing luciferase into immunocompetent BALB-c mice by intravenous injection (IV group), subcutaneous injection (SC group), intraperitoneal injection after peritoneal scratching (A group) or intraperitoneal injection alone (IP group).

Department of cytogenetics and clinical genetics, Limoges University Hospital, 87042 Limoges cedex, France; University Limoges, CNRS, XLIM, UMR 7252, 87000 Limoges, France. Electronic address:

The 6p terminal deletions are rare and usually early diagnosed because of their association with eye and cranio-facial anomalies, particularly as part of Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome in relation with the haploinsufficiency of FOXC1 gene. Deletions in the 22q11 region are frequent, highly correlated with DiGeorge syndrome also named CATCH22, and may be associated with many clinical features of various severities. We report a 31-year-old man with an unbalanced 45,XY,der(6)t(6;22)(p25;q11.

Fetal supraventricular tachycardia and cystic fibrosis: Coincidence or association? Two case reports.

J Gynecol Obstet Hum Reprod

October 2018

Department of Medical Genetics, Limoges University Hospital, France; University Limoges, CNRS, XLIM, UMR 7252, 87000 Limoges, France.

Prenatal diagnosis of cystic fibrosis (CF) is difficult and is mainly considered upon identification of digestive sonographic signs. Although such an association has never been described until now to our knowledge, we report two cases of fetal arrhythmia associated with cystic fibrosis. This association may be explained by the physiopathology of heart in the context of CF, but nevertheless needs to be confirmed by other reports.

Emulsions stabilized by mixtures of particles and amphiphilic molecules are relevant for a wide range of applications, but their dynamics and stabilization mechanisms on the colloidal level are poorly understood. Given the challenges to experimentally probe the early dynamics and mechanisms of droplet stabilization, Brownian dynamics simulations are developed here to study the behavior of oil-in-water emulsions stabilized by colloidal particles modified with short amphiphiles. Simulation parameters are based on an experimental system that consists of emulsions obtained with octane as the oil phase and a suspension of alumina colloidal particles modified with short carboxylic acids as the continuous aqueous medium.

Label-free SRM-based relative quantification of antibiotic resistance mechanisms in Pseudomonas aeruginosa clinical isolates.

Front Microbiol

February 2015

Genomic Research Laboratory, Service of Infectious Diseases, Geneva University Hospitals Geneva, Switzerland ; Laboratory of Bacteriology, Department of Genetic and Laboratory Medicine, Geneva University Hospitals Geneva, Switzerland.

Both acquired and intrinsic mechanisms play a crucial role in Pseudomonas aeruginosa antibiotic resistance. Many clinically relevant resistance mechanisms result from changes in gene expression, namely multidrug efflux pump overproduction, AmpC β-lactamase induction or derepression, and inactivation or repression of the carbapenem-specific porin OprD. Changes in gene expression are usually assessed using reverse-transcription quantitative real-time PCR (RT-qPCR) assays.
