: This case study investigates the effect of a five-session whole-body cryostimulation (WBC) cycle on a 55-year-old female patient with cerebral palsy (CP) and lower limb spasticity (LLS) with a typical diplegic gait pattern. CP is a common physical disability characterized by motor impairments, including spasticity, which significantly impacts mobility and quality of life. The current treatments for spasticity often have limited efficacy and considerable side effects, making alternative therapies like WBC an area of interest.

This review investigated the effectiveness of robotic-assisted gait training (RAGT) in improving gait and balance performance in adults with multiple sclerosis (MS). Databases and registers were searched from inception to December 2023 to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that analyzed the effects of RAGT on gait speed, function, balance, fatigue, and adverse events. Three reviewers screened studies for eligibility and extracted key information such as participants and intervention characteristics, as well as outcomes of interest.

Despite recognized need and reasonable demand, health systems and rehabilitation communities keep working in silos, independently with minimal recognition to the issues of those who require rehabilitation services. Consolidated effort by health systems and rehabilitation parties, recognizing the value, power and promise of each other, is a need of the hour to address this growing issue of public health importance. In this paper, the importance and the need for integration of rehabilitation into health system is emphasized.

Diagnostic criteria of malnutrition phenotypes have been recently updated. Uncovering the prevalence of these conditions in patients undergoing hip replacement may be crucial in order to apply the most appropriate diagnostic-therapeutic paths to the right patient at the right time. Sixty patients aged between 60 and 85 undergoing elective hip replacement were recruited.

Purpose: Understanding idiopathic scoliosis (IS) natural history during growth is essential for shared decision-making between patients and physicians. We developed a retrospective model with the largest available sample in the literature and we aimed to investigate if using three peri-pubertal growth periods provides better prediction than a unique model.
Methods: Secondary analysis of a previous study on IS natural history data from radiographs before and at the first consult.

Introduction: Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the Italian National Health Service (NHS) has been undergoing a structural reform shifting focus from hospital-centered care to smaller, intermediate, or primary health facilities closer to the community (e.g., community hospitals and community houses).

Around 80% of persons with Parkinson's disease (PD) present symptoms of dysphagia. Although cognitive impairment may contribute to dysphagia, few studies have investigated the association between the PD neuropsychological profile and objective measures of swallowing dysfunction. Since the swallowing function comprises involuntary but also voluntary actions, we hypothesize that specific measures of attention and executive functions can be underlined in PD-related dysphagia.

Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder diagnosed by motor symptoms of bradykinesia, in combination with tremor, rigidity, or postural instability. Many studies document the effects of exercise-based interventions, but the benefit of different exercise types remains unclear.

: The Sforzesco brace is a very rigid push-up brace effective in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). We recently developed a new Sforzesco brace based on modularity (the Modular Italian brace-MI brace) that could allow standardization, facilitating global expertise diffusion, increased modifiability and adaptability, and cost savings due to longer brace life. We aimed to compare the short-term results of the two braces.

Background: Evidence on acute stroke management is continuously growing. Stroke units are often associated with better access to high-level evidence-based practices, but even there, recommendations can be inconsistently delivered to patients with stroke. Implementation interventions are strategies designed to improve the application of evidence-based care.

Background: Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is a pathology that changes the three-dimensional shape of the spine and trunk. While AIS can progress during growth and cause cosmetic issues, it is usually asymptomatic. However, a final spinal curvature above the critical threshold of 30° increases the risk of health problems and curve progression in adulthood.

Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is a three-dimensional spine and trunk deformity. Bracing is an effective treatment for medium-degree curves. Thermal sensors help monitor patients' adherence (compliance), a critical issue in bracing treatment.

Individuals with severe cartilage degeneration of the hip or knee or collapsed vertebrae that cause spine deformities can suffer from joint and neuropathic pain in the back, disuse of the affected limb, and restriction of movements. Surgical intervention is the most widespread and successful solution to date. There is a general belief that eating healthy and staying physically and mentally active might have a preventive role against musculoskeletal disease occurrence, while instead, we are more certain of the benefits deriving from a healthy diet and exercise therapy after major orthopaedic procedures.

The Italian Spine Youth Quality of Life (ISYQOL) is a validated health-related quality of life (HRQOL) questionnaire for teenagers with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). We culturally-adapted ISYQOL to traditional Chinese (ISYQOL-TC) and then recruited 133 conservatively treated teenagers with AIS to complete the ISYQOL-TC and the Chinese version of the Scoliosis Research Society-22 revised (SRS-22r) questionnaire, nine-item Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), seven-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder scale (GAD-7), and numeric pain rating scale (NPRS). They repeated ISYQOL-TC two weeks later.
