Monoclonal antibodies for human low-affinity FcγRs have been successfully generated by hybridoma technology and are widely used in pre-clinical research. However, the generation of monoclonal antibodies by hybridoma technology that specifically bind to the high-affinity receptor FcγRI is challenging.

Identifying which environmental drivers underlie degradation and improvements of ecological communities is a fundamental goal of ecology. Achieving this goal is a challenge due to diverse trends in both environmental conditions and ecological communities across regions, and it is constrained by the lack of long-term parallel monitoring of environmental and community data needed to study causal relationships. Here, we identify key environmental drivers using a high-resolution environmental - ecological dataset, an ensemble of the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT+) model, and ecological models to investigate effects of climate, land-use, and runoff on the decadal trend (2012-2021) of stream macroinvertebrate communities in a restored urban catchment and an impacted catchment with mixed land-uses in Germany.

Members of the order Mycobacteriales are distinguished by a characteristic diderm cell envelope, setting them apart from other Actinobacteria species. In addition to the conventional peptidoglycan cell wall, these organisms feature an extra polysaccharide polymer composed of arabinose and galactose, termed arabinogalactan. The nonreducing ends of arabinose are covalently linked to mycolic acids (MAs), forming the immobile inner leaflet of the highly hydrophobic MA membrane.

Objectives: This study aims to develop a sensitive ultra-performance liquid chromatographic tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) method for E2 in serum, to establish graphically represented RI percentiles and annual RIs for both sexes, and to perform a systematic literature comparison.
Methods: First, a UPLC-MS/MS method for E2 was developed.

Methods: We analyzed the asymmetry of gait and turning with and without a cognitive dual task (DT) using motion capture systems and wearable sensors in 97 PD patients mostly from Hoehn & Yahr stage II and III and 36 age-matched HC.

Background: Identifying individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD) already in the prodromal phase of the disease has become a priority objective for opening a window for early disease-modifying therapies.
Objective: The aim was to evaluate a blood-based α-synuclein seed amplification assay (α-syn SAA) as a novel biomarker for diagnosing PD in the prodromal phase.
Methods: In the TREND study (University of Tuebingen) biennial blood samples of n = 1201 individuals with/without increased risk for PD were taken prospectively over 4 to 10 years.

Cholecystokinin-expressing interneurons (CCKIs) are hypothesized to shape pyramidal cell-firing patterns and regulate network oscillations and related network state transitions. To directly probe their role in the CA1 region, we silenced their activity using optogenetic and chemogenetic tools in mice. Opto-tagged CCKIs revealed a heterogeneous population, and their optogenetic silencing triggered wide disinhibitory network changes affecting both pyramidal cells and other interneurons.

Materials And Methods: PubMed-MEDLINE and Cochrane-CENTRAL databases were searched, from their insertion up to August 1st, 2023, to detect appropriate papers. Clinical trials involving adult patients without periodontitis who performed self-brushing were eligible for inclusion.

Up to now, little has been known about backfat thickness (BFT) in dairy cattle. The objective of this study was to investigate the lactation curve and genetic parameters for BFT as well as its relationship with body condition score (BCS) and milk yield (MKG). For this purpose, a dataset was analysed including phenotypic observations of 1929 German Holstein cows for BFT, BCS and MKG recorded on a single research dairy farm between September 2005 and December 2022.

The concept of the metaorganism describes a multicellular host and its diverse microbial community, which form one biological unit with a combined genetic repertoire that significantly influences health and survival of the host. The present study delved into the emerging field of bacteriophage research within metaorganisms, focusing on the moon jellyfish as a model organism. The previously isolated phage BSwM KMM1 and phages BSwM KMM2 - KMM4 demonstrated potent infectivity on bacteria present in the -associated microbiota.

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) arises from the uncontrolled proliferation of B-cell precursors (BCP-ALL) or T cells (T-ALL). Current treatment protocols obtain high cure rates in children but are based on toxic polychemotherapy. Thus, there is an intense interest to design more potent antibody formats, where long plasma half-life is a commercially competitive differentiator affecting dosing, frequency of administration and thereby potentially patient compliance. Here, we report on an Fc-engineered variant with three amino acid substitutions Q311R/M428E/N434W (REW), that enhances plasma half-life and mucosal distribution, as well as allows for needle-free delivery across respiratory epithelial barriers in human FcRn transgenic mice.

The entomopathogenic nematode Heterorhabditis bacteriophora, symbiotically associated with enterobacteria of the genus Photorhabdus, is a biological control agent against many insect pests. Dauer Juveniles (DJ) of this nematode are produced in industrial-scale bioreactors up to 100 m in liquid culture processes lasting approximately 11 days. A high DJ yield (> 200,000 DJ·mL) determines the success of the process.

Colonoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound play pivotal roles in the assessment of rectal diseases, especially rectal cancer and inflammatory bowel diseases. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) offers a superior depth resolution, which is a critical factor for individualizing the therapeutic concept and evaluating the therapy response. We developed two distinct rectoscope prototypes, which were integrated into a 1300 nm MHz-OCT system constructed at our facility.
