Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, University Institute of Chemical Technology, KBC North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon M.S. 425001, India.

The advent of drug resistance in response to epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)- tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) targeted therapy represents a serious challenge in the management of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). These acquired resistance mutations, attributed to several advanced EGFR mutations and, necessitated the development of new-generation TKIs. Nanomedicine approaches provide a plausible way to address these problems by providing targeted delivery and sustained release, which have demonstrated success in preclinical trials.

Nanogels as nanocarriers for drug delivery: A review.

ADMET DMPK

December 2019

University Institute of Chemical Technology, KBC North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, 425001, India.

Nanogels are submicron-size aqueous dispersions of water-swollen particles, composed of nano-sized three-dimensional highly cross-linked networks of hydrophilic polymers. An active pharmaceutical agent or therapeutic agent with high or low molecular weight can be easily encapsulated into nanogels that can be delivered to the site of action via various routes, including oral, pulmonary, nasal, parenteral and intraocular routes, among others. Therapeutic agents encapsulated into nanogels improve the therapeutic activity in the biological environment.

Naringinase has high industrial importance, and the progress in naringinase research is still quite slow. The unavailability of an effective, simple screening method, which will be applicable to different microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and actinomycetes, is one of the main reasons for this gap. Therefore, a simple plate assay was developed for effective screening of microorganisms for naringinase by exposing to iodine vapors.
