Objectives: Previous researches have investigated depression in postmenopausal women (PMW) with osteoporosis and fractures, but little is known regarding Moroccan PMW without fractures. We investigated depression prevalence and severity in Moroccan PMW with osteoporosis without fractures and its relationship with quality of life (QoL) and physical and psychological state.
Methods: This cross-sectional study enrolled 100 PMW with osteoporosis without fractures.

The corrosion inhibition displays of two quinoxaline derivatives, on the corrosion of M-steel (M-steel) in 1 M HCl was studied by gravimetric, electrochemical, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), functional density theory (DFT) and molecular dynamic simulation (MD). The inhibitory efficacy increases with decreasing temperature and increases with inhibitor concentration and reached to 96 % (NSQN) and 92 % (CSQN) at 303 K and the optimum concentration (1×10-3 M). Ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopic analyses confirmed the presence of chemical interactions between the inhibitors and MS surface.

Anaerobic co-digestion of residual cabbage and cauliflower mixed at a ratio 1:1 (w/w) was investigated in two continuously stirred tank reactors under mesophilic conditions to ensure stability and enhanced methane generation. The experiments, including start-up, inoculum acclimatisation and treatment of the waste mixture, were carried out over a 65-day period. The characterisation results showed that the residual mixture contained a high proportion of total Kjeldahl nitrogen (around 37 g N/kg dry weight).

Increasing cases of leishmaniasis disease have been reported during recent years in Sefrou Province, Central North of Morocco. This study presents the epidemiological profile of the provincial population, aims at analyzing the epidemiological profile, and in particular, spatiotemporal follow-up of all cases of leishmaniasis. It is a retrospective analysis of leishmaniasis cases recorded between 2007 and 2010.

During this paper, we improved the compressive strength of cementitious matrix based on ion exchanging resin (IER) at 12% and formulated by the modified novolac epoxy polymer surfactant (NEPS) at various percentages (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5%). The results show that the introduction of 1% and 2% of NEPS in the cementitious matrix with 12% of IER increases the compressive strength compared to that of the basic matrix (from 7 to 90 days). However, the formulations 3, 4 and 5% show the compressive strength is less than that of the basic matrix (from 28 to 90 days).

In this work, we have presented a very detailed review of the different classification of azo dyes as a function of the number of azo groups and the appropriate functional groups. Then we pointed out some chemical properties of these dyes such as reactivity, isomerization and tautomerism and listed. In the following, we have summarized some recent syntheses of azo dyes and the mechanism of azo dyepolymer conjugation.

The main objective of this work is to perform a neutronic study of the 2 MW TRIGA MARK-II research reactor of the National Centre of Sciences, Energy and Nuclear Techniques (CNESTEN), Rabat, Morocco and then validate the results by comparing the experimental values and those published for an ordinary 2 MW TRIGA MARK II research reactor. The core diffusion code DONJON5 and the lattice code DRAGON5 were coupled to perform a full model of the TRIGA core and their consistency and accuracy were established by benchmarking the TRIGA experiments. In this study, the nuclear data libraries ENDF/B-VII.

It is of interest to elucidate the binding mode analysis of 18 sulphonated flavones in the non nucleoside inhibitory binding pocket of the HIV-1 reverse transcriptase (PDB ID: 1RTD). We further compared them with the known Non Nucleosidic Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (NNRTI) drug molecules such as delaviridine, nevirapine and etravirine. Molecular docking studies of sulphonated flavones were performed in the binding pocket of reverse transcriptase using the PatchDock server.

Two sediment cores were collected from the Oualidia lagoon, on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, and analyzed for Pb and Cs activity by gamma spectrometry. The Pb profiles were characterized by high activity at specific depths in each core, which were attributed to substantial increases in atmospheric Pb input to the sediment. A modified CRS model was applied to develop age-depth relations (chronologies) for the cores and calculate sediment accumulation rates, taking into account changing unsupported Pb delivery and specifying the year when the increase began.

The extensive accessibility to smartphones in the last decade raises the concerns of addictive behavior patterns toward these technologies worldwide and in developing countries, and Arabic ones in particular. In an area of stigmatized behavior such as Internet and smartphone addiction, the hypothesis extends to whether there is a reliable instrument that can assess smartphone addiction. To our knowledge, no scale in Arabic language is available to assess maladaptive behavior associated with smartphone use.

Drought is one of the most serious climatic and natural disasters inflicting serious impacts on the socio-economy of Morocco, which is characterized both by low-average annual rainfall and high irregularity in the spatial distribution and timing of precipitation across the country. This work aims to develop a comprehensive and integrated method for drought monitoring based on remote sensing techniques. The main input parameters are derived monthly from satellite data at the national scale and are then combined to generate a composite drought index presenting different severity classes of drought.

The molecular structure of stacked cyclic trinuclear gold(I) complexes [Au(RN═CR')], with n = 1-4, where R = H, methyl (Me), cyclopentyl (Pe), and phenyl (Ph) and R' = OH and methoxy (OMe) were studied computationally at the second-order Møller-Plesset (MP2) and density functional theory (DFT) levels of theory. At the DFT level, the aurophilic and dispersion interactions were accounted for by using the TPSS functional in combination with the semiempirical D3 correction. The structure optimizations yielded the lowest energy for a slided stacked structure of the [Au(HN═COH)] dimer, where monomers are slightly shifted relative to one another.
