Introduction: Traffic-light protocols (TLPs) use color codes to standardize image registration and improve interdisciplinary communication in IGRT. Generally, green indicates no relevant anatomical changes, orange signals changes requiring follow-up but does not compromise the current fraction, and red flags unacceptable changes. This study examines the communication aspect, specifically the reporting accuracy for locally advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC), and identifies barriers to reporting.

Background: Chest wall surgery for the correction of pectus excavatum or pectus carinatum has gained increased interest in recent years. Adequate pain treatment, respiratory physiotherapy and early ambulation are key to improving the outcomes. Although thoracic epidural analgesia is highly effective, its safety is controversial, leading to extensive scrutiny and questioning of its role.

Background: A considerable number of patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) lack a history of venous thromboembolism (VTE).
Objectives: We aimed to examine the annual incidence and prevalence of CTEPH in Denmark and to compare the rates of VTE, bleeding, and mortality between CTEPH patients with and without a history of VTE.
Methods: The Danish National Patient Registry covering all Danish hospitals was used to identify all CTEPH cases between 2009 and 2018, based on combinations of discharge diagnoses using International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision codes for CTEPH and relevant diagnostic and/or therapeutic interventions.

Background: The European Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension (CTEPH) registry, conducted between 2007 and 2012, reported the major impact of pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) on the long-term survival of patients with CTEPH. Since then, 2 additional treatments for inoperable CTEPH have become available: balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA), and an approved oral drug therapy with the guanylate cyclase stimulator riociguat. The current registry aimed to evaluate the effect of these new therapeutic approaches in a worldwide context.

Study Question: What is the impact of the EuroNet-PHL-C2 treatment for boys with classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) on semen parameters?
Summary Answer: More than half of the patients (52%, n = 16/31) had oligozoospermia or azoospermia at 2 years from cHL diagnosis; particularly boys treated for advanced-stage cHL had low sperm counts and motility.
What Is Known Already: Chemotherapy and radiotherapy to the inguinal region or testes can impair spermatogenesis and result in reduced fertility. The EuroNet-PHL-C2 trial aims to minimize radiotherapy in standard childhood cHL treatment, by intensifying chemotherapy.

People with single-sided deafness (SSD) or asymmetric hearing loss (AHL) have particular difficulty understanding speech in noisy listening situations and in sound localization. The objective of this multicenter study is to evaluate the effect of a cochlear implant (CI) in adults with single-sided deafness (SSD) or asymmetric hearing loss (AHL), particularly regarding sound localization and speech intelligibility with additional interest in electric-acoustic pitch matching. A prospective longitudinal study at 7 European tertiary referral centers was conducted including 19 SSD and 16 AHL subjects undergoing cochlear implantation.

The aim of this article is to determine the efficacy of otoendoscopy during microscopic cholesteatoma surgery on residual cholesteatoma rates postoperatively. The medical records of patients (aged 4-90) with primary acquired cholesteatoma who underwent microscopic cholesteatoma surgery (exclusively transcanal approach or canal wall-up tympano-mastoidectomy) with subsequent otoendoscopic examination (80 ears) for intraoperative cholesteatoma residues were retrospectively reviewed. All cases with mixed microscopic/endoscopic, fully endoscopic, or fully microscopic dissection were excluded, as well as cases where a canal wall-down technique was used.

Background & Aims: Perianal fistulation is a challenging phenotype of Crohn's disease, with significant impact on quality of life. Historically, fistulae have been classified anatomically in relation to the sphincter complex, and management guidelines have been generalized, with lack of attention to the clinical heterogenicity seen. The recent 'TOpClass classification system' for perianal fistulizing Crohn's disease (PFCD) addresses this issue, and classifies patients into defined groups, which provide a focus for fistula management that aligns with disease characteristics and patient goals.

Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), encompassing conditions like Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, present multifaceted challenges requiring a comprehensive management approach. Patients often necessitate a combination of medical therapy, surgical interventions, and nutritional support. Despite advancements in medical and dietary therapies, the prevalence of surgery remains high among the IBD population, alongside the persistent risk of malnutrition.

Introduction: Chronic back pain is one of the most prevalent conditions and has a large socio-economic impact. The lack of routine use of non-pharmacological options and issues associated with pharmacological treatments underscore high unmet needs in the treatment of back pain. Although blue light phototherapy has proven efficacy in dermatology, limited information is available about its use in back pain.

Introduction: Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is often diagnosed late in acute pulmonary embolism survivors: more efficient testing to expedite diagnosis may considerably improve patient outcomes. The InShape II algorithm safely rules out CTEPH (failure rate 0.29%) while requiring echocardiography in only 19% of patients but may be improved by adding detailed reading of the computed tomography pulmonary angiography diagnosing the index pulmonary embolism.

Objectives: Increased neonatal referral rate of conductive hearing loss (CHL) related to otitis media with effusion (OME) following universal neonatal hearing screening (UNHS) may cause an unnecessary clinical, emotional, and financial burden. This study analyzes the long-term, audiological, and medical characteristics of CHL associated with OME in neonates in order to establish a standardized protocol following technology-driven improvements in detection and referral rates in UNHS.
Methods: A retrospective study of all neonates with OME-related CHL referred to the University Hospital of Leuven (Belgium) after failing UNHS with the MAICO devices between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2021 was performed.

Background & Aims: Perianal fistulizing Crohn's disease (PFCD)-associated anorectal and fistula cancers are rare but often devastating diagnoses. However, given the low incidence and consequent lack of data and clinical trials in the field, there is little to no guidance on screening and management of these cancers. To inform clinical practice, we developed consensus guidelines on PFCD-associated anorectal and fistula cancers by multidisciplinary experts from the international TOpClass consortium.

Objectives: Assessing listening difficulties and associated complaints can be challenging. Often, measures of peripheral auditory functions are within normal ranges, making clinicians feel unsure about proper management strategies. The range and nature of observed or experienced difficulties might be better captured using a qualitative measure.
