Background: Larotrectinib, a first-in-class, highly selective tropomyosin receptor kinase (TRK) inhibitor, has demonstrated efficacy in adult and pediatric patients with various solid tumors harboring NTRK gene fusions. This subset analysis focuses on the efficacy and safety of larotrectinib in an expanded cohort of adult patients with TRK fusion sarcomas.
Methods: Patients (≥18 years old) with sarcomas harboring NTRK gene fusions were identified from three clinical trials.

The aim of this study is to assess the efficacy of a three-phase, multimodal, perioperative pain protocol for primary hip arthroscopy based on pain scores, narcotic use, time to discharge, hospital admission and complications. A retrospective study of patients undergoing primary hip arthroscopy over a 48-month time period was conducted. Patients were separated into a multimodal group consisting of non-narcotic medication, local analgesia and a peripheral nerve block (PNB) versus patients receiving only a PNB.

Aortic valve tissue excised during stenotic valve replacement surgery commonly exhibits histopathologic changes including prominent calcification of variable severity. We present briefly a case of a 78-year-old man with aortic valve stenosis and coronary artery disease undergoing aortic valve replacement and coronary artery bypass grafting. After pathologic examination of excised tissue, the aortic valve was determined to have nodular calcification and myxoid degeneration, as well as evidence of prominent, contiguous fatty infiltration of the valve's spongiosa layer.

Achilles tendon ruptures are common in the general population, especially among members of the older demographic occasionally active in sports. Operative treatments provide a lower incidence of rerupture than do nonoperative treatments, although surgical complications remain a concern. The use of a human acellular dermal matrix to augment Achilles tendon repair might reduce the incidence of complications.

Background: Suboptimal CPAP adherence in OSA clinical trials involving predominantly white men limits interpretability and generalizability. We examined predictors of CPAP adherence in a clinical trial enriched with minorities.
Methods: The Sleep Apnea Stress Study-a randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled trial of patients with moderate-to-severe OSA-included participants with complete 8-week adherence data (n = 138).

Vitamin D (VitD) deficiency affects more than 1 billion people worldwide with a higher prevalence in reproductive-aged women and children. The physiological effects of maternal VitD deficiency on the reproductive health of the offspring has not been studied. To determine whether maternal VitD deficiency affects reproductive physiology in female offspring, we monitored the reproductive physiology of C57BL/6J female offspring exposed to diet-induced maternal VitD deficiency at three specific developmental stages: 1) in utero, 2) preweaning, or 3) in utero and preweaning.
