- - The study aimed to evaluate how the combination of aspirin and lansoprazole affects patients with a history of ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA), specifically focusing on those who have aspirin resistance.
- - 142 eligible patients were divided into two groups based on whether they experienced stomach discomfort, with one group receiving 30 mg of lansoprazole alongside 100 mg of aspirin for a month, while the other group did not.
- - Results showed no significant difference in aspirin's effectiveness between the two groups, and it was suggested that increasing the aspirin dose may benefit those identified as having aspirin resistance.

The objectives were to analyze changes from 2012 to 2017 in different management times of stroke patients included in the Aquitaine stroke Observatory (ObA2). The studied times (onset-to-needle time-ONT, onset-to-door time-ODT, door-to-imaging time-DIT, door-to-needle time-DNT and imaging-to-needle time-INT) were described as median, interquartile ranges and proportion of patients within the recommended median time goals (ODT under 4hours, DIT within 20min; for thrombolyzed patients, DIT under 20min and a ONT under 4:30) to be compared with an objective of 50% of patients within said time goal. Globally, ODT was 160min, with 43.

Background And Objectives: Declines in stroke admission, IV thrombolysis (IVT), and mechanical thrombectomy volumes were reported during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. There is a paucity of data on the longer-term effect of the pandemic on stroke volumes over the course of a year and through the second wave of the pandemic. We sought to measure the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the volumes of stroke admissions, intracranial hemorrhage (ICH), IVT, and mechanical thrombectomy over a 1-year period at the onset of the pandemic (March 1, 2020, to February 28, 2021) compared with the immediately preceding year (March 1, 2019, to February 29, 2020).

Background And Purpose: Current evidence on antidepressant-related stroke or mortality risk is inconsistent. Because the elderly have the highest exposure to antidepressants, the aim was to quantify their association with stroke and mortality risks in this vulnerable population.
Methods: Persons over 65 years old and registered in the Information System for Research in Primary Care of Catalonia during 2010-2015 comprised the study population.
Background: Nerinetide, an eicosapeptide that interferes with post-synaptic density protein 95, is a neuroprotectant that is effective in preclinical stroke models of ischaemia-reperfusion. In this trial, we assessed the efficacy and safety of nerinetide in human ischaemia-reperfusion that occurs with rapid endovascular thrombectomy in patients who had an acute ischaemic stroke.
Methods: For this multicentre, double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled study done in 48 acute care hospitals in eight countries, we enrolled patients with acute ischaemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion within a 12 h treatment window.

Methods: We prospectively recruited 58 patients with persistent geotropic positional nystagmus at the Dizziness Clinic of Pusan National University Hospital. Seven patients with unilateral cerebellar lesions were subjected to analysis of clinical characteristics, oculographic data, and MRI lesions.

The syndrome of transient headache and neurologic deficits with cerebrospinal fluid lymphocytosis (HaNDL) is a self-limited disorder with an unknown pathogenesis, characterized by one or more transient episodes of severe headache accompanied with neurologic deficits, and lymphocytic pleocytosis in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Despite being uncommon and benign it is important for clinicians to identify and differentiate HaNDL from other potentially fatal neurologic disorders. We present six HaNDL patients from our institution.

The disorder is more common in women (80%), where it is frequently associated with an underlying ovarian teratoma. Most patients with anti-NMDAR encephalitis develop a multi-stage illness that progresses from initially psychiatric symptoms to subsequent mnemonic disturbances, seizures, dyskinesias, catatonia and even coma.
