Objective: In this multicentric study, we were interested in the vision-related quality of life and its association with visual impairment in neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) in comparison to multiple sclerosis (MS) and healthy controls.
Methods: We analysed extracted data from the German NEMOS registry including National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire (NEI-VFQ) scores, high and low contrast visual acuity (HCVA, LCVA), visually evoked potentials (VEP) and the scores for the expanded disability status scale (EDSS) and other neurological tests which assessed their disease-related impairment. Background: Management of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is challenged by limited therapeutic options and a complex relationship between blood pressure (BP) dynamics, especially BP variability (BPV) and ICH outcome.
Methods: In an exploratory analysis of prospectively collected data on consecutive patients with nontraumatic ICH between 2015 and 2020, continuous BP accessed via an arterial line extracted from the Intellispace Critical Care and Anesthesia information system (Philips Healthcare) was analyzed over the first 72 h post admission. Arterial lines were used as part of standard clinical practice in the intensive care, ensuring high fidelity and real-time data essential for acute care settings.

Prior to the curative resection of colorectal carcinoma (CRC) or pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), the exclusion of hepatic metastasis using cross-sectional imaging is mandatory. The Doppler perfusion index (DPI) of the liver is a promising method for detecting occult liver metastases, but the underlying visceral duplex sonography is critically viewed in terms of its reproducibility. The aim of this study was to investigate systematically the reproducibility of the measured variables, the calculated blood flow, and the DPI.

Since the publication of the 2013 European Neuromuscular Center (ENMC) diagnostic criteria for Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM), several advances have been made regarding IBM epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnostic tools, and clinical trial readiness. Novel diagnostic tools include muscle imaging techniques such as MRI and ultrasound, and serological testing for cytosolic 5'-nucleotidase-1A antibodies. The 272nd ENMC workshop aimed to develop new diagnostic criteria, discuss clinical outcome measures and clinical trial readiness.

Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies are a group of rare, autoimmune, diseases typically involving striate muscle and also variously affecting several other systems or organs, such as joints, skin, lungs, heart and gastrointestinal tract. IIM are mainly characterised by subacute onset and chronic course and are burdened by significant morbidity and mortality. Despite the rarity of these conditions, several efforts have been undertaken in the last years to better understand their pathogenesis, as well as to achieve a more precise classification and to define the optimal therapeutic approach.

The 255th ENMC workshop on Muscle Imaging in Idiopathic Inflammatory myopathies (IIM) aimed at defining recommendations concerning the applicability of muscle imaging in IIM. The workshop comprised of clinicians, researchers and people living with myositis. We aimed to achieve consensus on the following topics: a standardized protocol for the evaluation of muscle images in various types of IIMs; the exact parameters, anatomical localizations and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques; ultrasound as assessment tool in IIM; assessment methods; the pattern of muscle involvement in IIM subtypes; the application of MRI as biomarker in follow-up studies and clinical trials, and the place of MRI in the evaluation of swallowing difficulty and cardiac manifestations.

Introduction: We aimed to identify B-cell-mediated immunomechanisms in inclusion body myositis (IBM) and polymyositis (PM) as part of the complex pathophysiology.
Materials And Methods: Human primary myotube cultures were derived from orthopedic surgery. Diagnostic biopsy specimens from patients with IBM (n=9) and PM (n=9) were analyzed for markers of B cell activation (BAFF and APRIL) and for chemokines that control the recruitment of B cells (CXCL-12 and CXCL-13).

Objectives: To compare clinical characteristics, including the frequency of cutaneous, extramuscular manifestations and malignancy, between adults with anti-synthetase syndrome (ASyS) and DM.
Methods: Using data regarding adults from the MYONET registry, a cohort of DM patients with anti-Mi2/-TIF1γ/-NXP2/-SAE/-MDA5 autoantibodies, and a cohort of ASyS patients with anti-tRNA synthetase autoantibodies (anti-Jo1/-PL7/-PL12/-OJ/-EJ/-Zo/-KS) were identified. Patients with DM sine dermatitis or with discordant dual autoantibody specificities were excluded.
