Objective: To determine the rates of brain atrophy progression in vivo in patients with multiple system atrophy (MSA).
Background: Surrogate biomarkers of disease progression are a major unmet need in MSA. Small-scale longitudinal studies in patients with MSA using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to assess progression of brain atrophy have produced inconsistent results.

Objectives: Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a rare fatal neurodegenerative disease characterized by parkinsonism, cerebellar ataxia and autonomic failure. This study was aimed at investigating possible associations between mortality, 24-h blood pressure (BP) level and variability, and drug treatments for orthostatic hypotension (OH) in MSA patients.
Methods: A total of 129 patients followed at the French Reference Center for MSA who underwent routine 24-h ambulatory BP monitoring were included.

An expert committee was formed to reach consensus on the use of Tilt Table Testing (TTT) in the diagnosis of disorders that may cause transient loss of consciousness (TLOC) and to outline when other provocative cardiovascular autonomic tests are needed. While TTT adds to history taking, it cannot be a substitute for it. An abnormal TTT result is most meaningful if the provoked event is recognised by patients or eyewitnesses as similar to spontaneous ones.

We provide an evidence base and guidance for the use of menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) for the maintenance of skeletal health and prevention of future fractures in recently menopausal women. Despite controversy over associated side effects, which has limited its use in recent decades, the potential role for MHT soon after menopause in the management of postmenopausal osteoporosis is increasingly recognized. We present a narrative review of the benefits versus risks of using MHT in the management of postmenopausal osteoporosis.
