While a healthy lifestyle would be an asset to people experiencing psychotic disorders, not all mental health professionals provide counselling regarding healthy behaviours, such as physical activity, healthy nutrition, and tobacco cessation. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to investigate the factors associated with health promotion practice (HPP) among mental health professionals. Cross-sectional survey including mental health professionals across the Province of Quebec (Canada).

The role of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors such as neostigmine and rivastigmine on chronic pain and cognitive function in aging: A review of recent clinical applications.

Chronic pain in patients with Alzheimer's disease or dementia is a complex issue in the medical field; these patients suffer from the common causes of chronic pain, especially in geriatric medicine. To ensure the correct type and level of given treatment, medical care should be taken to avoid the contribution of chronic pain and cognitive impairment in the elderly population. Acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (AChE-Is) have been proven as an efficient therapeutic resource for significant improvement in dementia of Alzheimer's disease and chronic pain due to the fact that cholinergic deficit is considered as an early finding in cognitive impairment and persisting pain.

A Case Report of Refractory Notalgia Paresthetica Treated with Lidocaine Infusions.

BACKGROUND Notalgia paresthetica is a neuropathic condition that manifests as a chronic itch in the thoraco-dorsal region. It is often resistant to treatment, and specific guidelines for its management are lacking. As such, we present a treatment approach with intravenous lidocaine infusions.

Using the transtheoretical model to predict physical activity level of overweight adults with serious mental illness.

Although physical activity (PA) is recommended for individuals with serious mental illness (ISMI), most of them are inactive or insufficiently active. The transtheoretical model (TTM) has been proposed to explain the motivational factors associated with PA however, there is little evidence of its applicability to ISMI. So, the objective was to analyse whether TTM components are related to PA in overweight ISMI.

Objective: Postural stability depends on the coordination of the central nervous system with visual sense, proprioceptive and vestibular information. Sleep deprivation has been shown to affect this function. The objective of our study was to assess the effects of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) on postural stability.

Scoring criteria for portable monitor recordings: a comparison of four hypopnoea definitions in a population-based cohort.

Rationale: Limited-channel portable monitors (PMs) are increasingly used as an alternative to polysomnography (PSG) for the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). However, recommendations for the scoring of PM recordings are still lacking. Pulse-wave amplitude (PWA) drops, considered as surrogates for EEG arousals, may increase the detection sensitivity for respiratory events in PM recordings.

Pure Red Cell Aplasia with Adult Onset Still's Disease.

Known for its wide range of clinical manifestations, AOSD often presents with nonremitting systemic signs and symptoms.
