Background And Purpose: Wernicke encephalopathy is a severe neurologic disorder that results from a dietary vitamin B1 deficiency. It is characterized by changes in consciousness, ocular abnormalities, and ataxia. This study was undertaken to analyze and compare findings on MR imaging and neurologic symptoms at clinical presentations of patients with Wernicke encephalopathy with and without a history of alcohol abuse.

The preoperative diagnosis of paraduodenal hernias (PH) can only be made radiologically. PH are seldom diagnosed preoperatively unless they cause bowel obstruction. We report an unusual case of a nonobstructive left PH diagnosed preoperatively by computed tomography (CT).

Primary linitis plastica of the colon is a rare entity, and its radiographic and CT findings have been described in previously published literature. We present the CT demonstration of the pelvic wall spread in this unusual disease, and briefly review its radiologic and pathologic features.
