This article provides an overview of the techniques for closure of the mucosal entry point following advanced procedures in the third space. The outbreak of natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES) has significantly impacted the treatment of various benign and malignant conditions. Reliable and secure closure of the mucosal entrance is essential for avoiding serious adverse events.

Aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of high and irregular heart rate on the image quality and on the radiation exposure using a 256-row, 16-cm wide detector computed tomography (CT) system. Between March and December 2019, 349 patients undergoing CT coronary angiography (CTCA) were prospectively enrolled. Patients were divided into 2 study groups; Group 1 included patients with a regular heart rate of ≤70 bpm, while Group 2 included patients with an irregular heart rhythm or heart rate of >70 bpm.

Background And Aims: G-POEM is an emerging method for treatment of severe gastroparesis. Safe mucosal closure is necessary to avoid adverse events. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of two closure methods: clips and endoscopic suturing (ES) after G-POEM.

Objective: Endoscopic pyloromyotomy (G-POEM) is a minimally invasive treatment option with promising uncontrolled outcome results in patients with gastroparesis.

Design: In this prospective randomised trial, we compared G-POEM with a sham procedure in patients with severe gastroparesis. The primary outcome was the proportion of patients with treatment success (defined as a decrease in the Gastroparesis Cardinal Symptom Index (GCSI) by at least 50%) at 6 months.

Chronic thoracic venous occlusion (CTVO) as a result of repeated or prolonged central venous catheter insertion represents a significant problem in catheter-dependent patients. Different endovascular techniques techniques have been utilised for CTVO recanalization. The Surfacer® Inside-out® system represents a new approach to restore right-sided central venous access in CTVO by the inside-out recanalization technique.

Purpose: To obtain information on characteristics, management, current objective nutritional status and perception of nutritional status of children with cerebral palsy (CP) from healthcare professionals (HCPs) and caregivers.

Materials And Methods: A detailed survey of several items on eight main topics (general characteristics, motor function, comorbidities, therapies, anthropometry, feeding mode and problems and perceived nutritional status) was developed and tested for the study. Correlation between nutritional status and Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) levels was assessed using continuous variables (Z-scores for weight-for-age, height-for-age, weight-for-height, and body mass index-for-age), and categorical variables (being malnourished, stunted, or wasted).

Objectives: The beneficial effects of ozone therapy consist mainly of the promotion of blood circulation: peripheral and central ischemia, immunomodulatory effect, energy boost, regenerative and reparative properties, and correction of chronic oxidative stress. Ozone therapy increases interest in new neuroprotective strategies that may represent therapeutic targets for minimizing the effects of oxidative stress.

Methods: The overview examines the latest literature in neurological pathologies treated with ozone therapy as well as our own experience with ozone therapy.

Purpose: Patients with hematuria and renal colic often undergo CT scanning. The purpose of our study was to assess variations in CT protocols and radiation doses for evaluation of hematuria and urinary stones in 20 countries.

Method: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) surveyed practices in 51 hospitals from 20 countries in the European region according to the IAEA Technical cooperation classification and obtained following information for three CT protocols (urography, urinary stones, and routine abdomen-pelvis CT) for 1276 patients: patient information (weight, clinical indication), scanner information (scan vendor, scanner name, number of detector rows), scan parameters (such as number of phases, scan start and end locations, mA, kV), and radiation dose descriptors (CTDI, DLP).

Purpose: To evaluate the patient and the neurointerventionalist radiation dose levels during endovascular treatment of acute ischemic stroke, and to analyze factors affecting doses.

Materials And Methods: From October 2017 to January 2019, we prospectively collected patient radiation data and neurointerventionalist data from real-time dosimetry from all consecutive thrombectomies. Multivariate analysis was performed to analyze patient total dose area product (DAP) and neurointerventionalist dose variability in terms of clinical characteristics and the technical parameters of thrombectomies.

The aim of this study was to assess if differences in etiology and risk factors among 372 cases of bacterial meningitis acquired after surgery (PM) or in community (CBM) have impact on outcome of infected patients. Among 372 cases of bacterial meningitis within last 17 years from 10 major Slovak hospitals, 171 were PM and 201 CBM. Etiology, risk factors such as underlying disease, cancer, diabetes alcoholism, surgery, VLBW, ENT infections, trauma, sepsis were recorded and mortality, survival with sequellae, therapy failure were compared in both groups.

Eighty-two patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) or acute exacerbation (AE) of chronic bronchitis were randomized to receive ofloxacin (OFL) 400 mg twice daily (39 patients) versus 400 mg once daily (43 patients) orally. Cure rates showed no statistically significant difference (90.1 vs.
