We report a hemodialysis MDR HIV-infected patient switched to fostemsavir with lenacapavir plus lamivudine for more than a year. She maintained a suppressed viral replication and did not present any clinical or biological drug-related side effects. The combination of lenacapavir plus fostemsavir looks promising in terms of safety and efficacy even in patients with end-stage renal disease awaiting renal transplant.

Background: In this last decade, a huge increase in African anthropophilic strains causing tinea capitis has been observed in Europe. The Belgian National Reference Center for Mycosis (NRC) conducted a surveillance study on tinea capitis in 2018 to learn the profile of circulating dermatophytes.
Methods: Belgian laboratories were invited to send all dermatophyte strains isolated from the scalp with epidemiological information.

Objectives: To evaluate the failure rate and performance of cell-free DNA (cfDNA) testing as a first-line screening method for major trisomies, performed by two laboratories using different analytical methods: a targeted chromosome-selective method (Harmony prenatal Test) versus a genome-wide (GW) massively parallel sequencing method (HB-cfDNA test), and to evaluate the clinical value of incidental findings for the latter method.
Methods: CfDNA testing was performed in 3137 pregnancies with the Harmony prenatal Test and in 3373 pregnancies with the HB-cfDNA test. Propensity score analysis was used to match women between both groups for maternal age, weight, gestational age at testing, fertilization, rate of twin pregnancies and that of aneuploidies.

A 27-year-old woman underwent a first vaginal delivery at our institution. She returned four days after delivery, presenting with abdominal pain and an unexplained drop in her hemoglobin value, without external bleeding. The initial computed tomography abdominal scan revealed an isolated diffuse hemoperitoneum.

Prenatal forms of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) are rare but can be recurrent in some families, suggesting a common genetic modifying background. Few patients have been reported carrying, in addition to the familial mutation, variation(s) in polycystic kidney disease 1 (PKD1) or HNF1 homeobox B (HNF1B), inherited from the unaffected parent, or biallelic polycystic kidney and hepatic disease 1 (PKHD1) mutations. To assess the frequency of additional variations in PKD1, PKD2, HNF1B, and PKHD1 associated with the familial PKD mutation in early ADPKD, these four genes were screened in 42 patients with early ADPKD in 41 families.

Study Question: Is there any association between thyroid autoimmunity (TAI) and diminished ovarian reserve (DOR)?
Summary Answer: TAI and hypothyroidism are not associated with low ovarian reserve.
What Is Known Already: TAI is a common co-existent endocrinopathy in women with primary ovarian insufficiency. Several studies support a potential link between TAI and the reduction in ovarian reserve.

Purpose: To evaluate inter- and intra-observer reproducibility of renographic quantitative parameters of input and output in children.
Methods: 100 children with unilateral or bilateral uropathy were selected, aiming to cover the entire range of ages, overall glomerular filtration rate (GFR), differential renal function (DRF) and quality of drainage. Renograms were acquired and processed according to the EANM guidelines, using a non-commercial software.

Background: Output efficiency (OE) and normalized residual activity (NORA) are two parameters that allow quantifying the renal drainage at any moment of renographic acquisition. Although OE is theoretically more accurate than NORA in case of a decreased overall renal function, both parameters present some weaknesses.
Objectives: To compare both parameters and to evaluate whether the clinical information provided by both parameters is identical.

Introduction: Until recently, renogram, performed in children with pelvi-ureteric junction stenosis detected antenatally, has not been able to predict the probability of function improvement after surgery or the risk of function deterioration in case of conservative attitude. Recently, Schlotmann et al. have suggested that cortical transit might have this predictive role.

Although renography has been used for half a century to evaluate the function of the infant kidney, there are still important disagreements among the specialists involved in this particular pathology. Each department of nuclear medicine has his own way to acquire and process a renogram; to interpret the obtained images, curves, and quantitative parameters; and to make recommendations for the referring physician. The urologist has his or her part of responsibilities because the decision for operating or not operating varies from one center to another and is generally determined by a series of unproven assumptions.

The aim of this work is to present to the reader the practical experience of three clinicians having actively participated to the publication of the guidelines on renography in children. The present publication should be considered as a practical guide. We have underlined good practice, obvious errors to avoid, common pitfalls which might be overlooked, some items for which more than one reasonable solution exists and finally a few controversial points, for which there is still no agreement and no solid evidence to resolve these issues.

Setting: Retrospective study.
Patients: IVF cycles which had reached estradiol serum levels of at least 4,000 pg/mL without being coasted (control group, n = 208), or where coasting was applied (coasted group, n = 157).

The ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is a rare iatrogenic complication of ovarian stimulation occurring during the luteal phase or during early pregnancy. This complication is unusual as it is not the consequence of a treatment which is vital or mandatory for the patient's health. Nevertheless, it can be accompanied by severe morbidity and may even be fatal.

Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is a rare iatrogenic complication of ovarian stimulation occurring during the luteal phase or during early pregnancy. Fortunately, the reported prevalence of the severe form of OHSS is small, ranging from 0.5 to 5%.

The ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is an iatrogenic complication of ovarian stimulation occurring during the luteal phase or early pregnancy. It has been observed over the last 60 years, since gonadotropins were first used to induce ovulation. The prevalence varies, according to study, from 0.

'Coasting', a method which consists of stopping exogenous gonadotrophins and postponing HCG administration until the patient's serum estradiol (E2) level decreases, is often used to prevent ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). We conducted a systematic review to analyse whether there is sufficient evidence to justify the general acceptance of coasting. The studies, which involved 493 patients in 12 studies, are very heterogeneous in the characteristics and number of patients in the ovulation stimulation schemes.

The ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is a dramatic iatrogenic complication of fertility treatment. There is no consensus about its prevention strategies. We assessed whether physicians modify their preventive attitude in relation to clinical risk factors and to the oestradiol response chart.

Medium-chain triglycerides are generally assumed to be metabolized independently of carnitine. The effects of infusing medium-chain triglycerides on plasma concentrations of carnitine derivatives and beta-hydroxybutyrate was studied in four healthy male adults. Glucose and amino acids were infused alone for three hours, then continued for another 5.
