Aim: The objectives of this study were to determine the prevalence of burnout risk and intention-to-leave among intensive care unit (ICU) nurses and analyse the association of these with workload and work environment.
Design: A cross-sectional survey of nurses working in ICUs was conducted in France between 15 January 2024 and 15 April 2024 alongside a longitudinal assessment of workload during the same period.
Methods: ICU nurse workload was assessed using the Nursing Activities Score (NAS).

Background: Liver metastases of gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) are rare, but associated with poor prognosis. The additional concomitant presence of brain or intra-abdominal metastases, with liver metastases has been described as worsening factors, but the literature on this topic is reduced.
Objective: To estimate the overall mortality, specific hepatic morbidity, and mortality, and to identify prognostic factors for patients with GTN and liver metastases.

Introduction: Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) is a group of rare tumors characterized by abnormal trophoblastic proliferation following pregnancy including invasive moles, choriocarcinomas, and intermediate trophoblastic tumors (ITT). Although the treatment and follow-up of GTN has been heterogeneous, globally the emergence of expert networks has helped to harmonize its management.
Areas Covered: We provide an overview of the current knowledge, diagnosis, and management strategies in GTN and discuss innovative therapeutic options under investigation.

Background: Necrobiosis lipoidica located to the breast; without evidence of glucose intolerance, is extremely rare, and its association to Crohn's disease is not usual.
Case Presentation: We report an interesting case of an association of necrobiosis lipoidica of the breast and Crohn's disease in a 54-year-old Moroccan woman. Skin necrobiotic changes are a characteristic feature in necrobiosis lipoidica, but they are exceptional in metastatic Crohn's disease, since there are only three published cases of necrobiotic skin lesions on the lower leg resembling erythema nodosum in metastatic Crohn's disease.

The significance of extreme hyperferritinemia and its association with certain diagnoses and prognoses are not well characterized. We performed a retrospective analysis of adult patients with at least one total serum ferritin (TSF) measurement ≥ 5000 µg/L over 2 years, in three university hospitals. Conditions associated with hyperferritinemia were collected, and patients were classified into 10 etiological groups.

Introduction: Adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD) is a rare multisystemic disorder and a diagnostic challenge for physicians because of the wide range of differential diagnoses. Common features of AOSD and secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (sHLH) could favour diagnostic uncertainty, in particular in case of infection-related sHLH.
Observation: A 61-year-old man was admitted to our internal medicine department for suspected AOSD.

Purpose: The aim of the survey was to define the indications for preventive tracheostomy in transoral robotic surgery (TORS) for head and neck cancers.
Methods: From October 2019 to January 2020, an online questionnaire was e-mailed to French surgical ENT teams with considerable experience of the TORS procedure (Gettec group). A descriptive analysis of the answers was performed.

Background: Gitelman syndrome is the most frequent hereditary salt-losing tubulopathy characterized by hypokalemic alkalosis and hypomagnesemia. Gitelman syndrome is caused by biallelic pathogenic variants in encoding the Na-Cl cotransporter (NCC) expressed in the distal convoluted tubule. Pathogenic variants of , , , or may result in the same renal phenotype of Gitelman syndrome, as they can lead to reduced NCC activity.

Background: Factors that may affect surgical decompression results in tarsal tunnel syndrome are not known.
Methods: A retrospective single-center study included patients who had undergone surgical tibial nerve release. The effectiveness of decompression was evaluated according to whether the patient would or would not be willing to undergo another surgical procedure in similar preoperative circumstances.

Background: The risk of malignant transformation of molar pregnancies after human chorionic gonadotropin levels return to normal is low, roughly 0.4%, but may justify an adaptation of monitoring strategies for certain patients.
Objective: This study aimed to determine the risk of gestational trophoblastic neoplasia after human chorionic gonadotropin normalization in women with molar pregnancy and identify risk factors for this type of malignant transformation to optimize follow-up protocols after human chorionic gonadotropin normalization.

Background: During endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), access to the common bile duct (CBD) can be problematic after unintentional insertion of the guidewire into the pancreatic duct. We conducted a prospective, randomized study in order to compare biliary cannulation success rates of early double-guidewire (EDG) and repeated single-guidewire (RSG) techniques in patients with inadvertent passage of the guidewire into the pancreatic duct.
Methods: Patients with a native papilla were randomly assigned to either the EDG or RSG groups after unintentional insertion of the guidewire into the pancreatic duct.

Background: Quality Indicators for ovarian cancer (OC) have been developed by the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO) and by the French National Cancer Institute (Institut National du Cancer, INCa). The aim of the study was to characterize OC care distribution in France by case-volume and to prospectively evaluate the adherence of high-volume institutions to INCa/ESGO quality indicators.
Methods: The cost-utility of radical surgery in ovarian cancer (CURSOC) trial is a prospective, multicenter, comparative and non-randomized study that includes patients with stage IIIC-IV epithelial OC treated in nine French health care tertiary institutions.

Objectives: A recent randomized controlled trial has reconsidered the use of laparoscopy for treating patients with early-stage cervical cancer with radical hysterectomy (RH). We aimed to evaluate if surgical approach had an impact on surgical and oncological outcomes in these patients in a French setting.
Methods: Data of 1706 patients with cervical cancer treated between 1996 and 2017 were extracted from maintained databases of 9 French University hospitals.
