Aim: The objectives of this study were to determine the prevalence of burnout risk and intention-to-leave among intensive care unit (ICU) nurses and analyse the association of these with workload and work environment.

Design: A cross-sectional survey of nurses working in ICUs was conducted in France between 15 January 2024 and 15 April 2024 alongside a longitudinal assessment of workload during the same period.

Methods: ICU nurse workload was assessed using the Nursing Activities Score (NAS).

Comparison of surgical management and outcomes of acute right colic and sigmoid diverticulitis: a French national retrospective cohort study.

Background: Acute right colic diverticulitis (ARD) is less frequent in Western countries than acute sigmoid diverticulitis (ASD). We aimed to compare the management of ARD and ASD operated on in emergency.

Methods: All consecutive patients who had emergency surgery for ASD and ARD (2010-2021) were included in a retrospective, multicenter, cohort study.

Introduction: Acute fetal leukemia is rare and characterized by a very poor prognosis. The aims of this study were to identify cases of acute fetal leukemia and to describe ultrasound and fetopathological findings that should lead to a suspicion of this diagnosis, as well as the investigations required to confirm it.

Material And Methods: This was a multicenter retrospective observational study carried out between January 1, 1998, and December 31, 2020, in patients operated on for vulvar cancer.

Background: The effects of pharmacological therapy on cardiogenic shock (CS) survivors have not been extensively studied. Thus, this study investigated the association between guideline-directed heart failure (HF) medical therapy (GDMT) and one-year survival rate in patients who are post-CS.

Methods And Results: FRENSHOCK (French Observatory on the Management of Cardiogenic Shock in 2016) registry was a prospective multicenter observational survey, conducted in metropolitan French intensive care units and intensive cardiac care units.

Insights into the immunological description of cryoglobulins with regard to detection and characterization in Slovenian rheumatological patients.

The detection of cryoglobulins (CG) used to diagnose cryoglobulinemic vasculitis requires strict adherence to protocol, with emphasis on the preanalytical part. Our main objectives were to introduce a more sensitive and specific protocol for the detection of CG and to characterize CG in Slovenian patients diagnosed with cryoglobulinemic vasculitis, other vasculitides, connective tissue diseases or non-rheumatic diseases examined at the Department of Rheumatology (University Medical Centre Ljubljana). Samples were routinely analyzed for the presence of CG with the protocol using the Folin-Ciocalteu reagent.

H syndrome treated with Tocilizumab: two case reports and literature review.

H syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive genetic disorder characterized by the following clinical features: cutaneous hyperpigmentation, hypertrichosis, hepatosplenomegaly, heart anomalies, hearing loss, hypogonadism, short stature, hallux valgus, hyperglycemia, fixed flexion contractures of the toe joints, and the proximal interphalangeal joints. In rare cases, autoinflammatory and lymphoproliferative manifestations have also been reported. This disorder is due to loss-of-function mutations in gene, which encode the equilibrative nucleoside transporter ENT3.

Background: Liver metastases of gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) are rare, but associated with poor prognosis. The additional concomitant presence of brain or intra-abdominal metastases, with liver metastases has been described as worsening factors, but the literature on this topic is reduced.

Objective: To estimate the overall mortality, specific hepatic morbidity, and mortality, and to identify prognostic factors for patients with GTN and liver metastases.

Introduction: Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) is a group of rare tumors characterized by abnormal trophoblastic proliferation following pregnancy including invasive moles, choriocarcinomas, and intermediate trophoblastic tumors (ITT). Although the treatment and follow-up of GTN has been heterogeneous, globally the emergence of expert networks has helped to harmonize its management.

Areas Covered: We provide an overview of the current knowledge, diagnosis, and management strategies in GTN and discuss innovative therapeutic options under investigation.

Dynamical systems in computational psychiatry: A toy-model to apprehend the dynamics of psychiatric symptoms.

Introduction: These last years, scientific research focuses on the dynamical aspects of psychiatric disorders and their clinical significance. In this article, we proposed a theoretical framework formalized as a generic mathematical model capturing the heterogeneous individual evolutions of psychiatric symptoms. The first goal of this computational model based on differential equations is to illustrate the nonlinear dynamics of psychiatric symptoms.

Hydroxychloroquine Therapy in Sarcoidosis-Associated Uveitis.

Background/purpose: To assess the efficacy and tolerance of hydroxychloroquine in sarcoidosis-associated uveitis.

Methods: Retrospective study on all patients with sarcoidosis-associated uveitis who were treated with hydroxychloroquine between 2003 and 2019 in a French university hospital.

Results: Twenty-seven patients with sarcoidosis-associated uveitis received hydroxychloroquine.

Necrobiosis lipoidica of the breast associated with Crohn's disease: a case report.

Background: Necrobiosis lipoidica located to the breast; without evidence of glucose intolerance, is extremely rare, and its association to Crohn's disease is not usual.

Case Presentation: We report an interesting case of an association of necrobiosis lipoidica of the breast and Crohn's disease in a 54-year-old Moroccan woman. Skin necrobiotic changes are a characteristic feature in necrobiosis lipoidica, but they are exceptional in metastatic Crohn's disease, since there are only three published cases of necrobiotic skin lesions on the lower leg resembling erythema nodosum in metastatic Crohn's disease.

Introduction: The objectives were to elaborate new recommendations for the French Government taking into account the new epidemiological situation due to Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 virus and to maintain essential functions of the State through socioeconomic and health life.

Method: Two self-decision matrix were built for isolation (cases) and quarantine (contacts) and for citizen testing, respectively. The recommendations included in the two matrix were validated internally by experts and scientists from the scientist literature.

Extreme Hyperferritinemia: Causes and Prognosis.

The significance of extreme hyperferritinemia and its association with certain diagnoses and prognoses are not well characterized. We performed a retrospective analysis of adult patients with at least one total serum ferritin (TSF) measurement ≥ 5000 µg/L over 2 years, in three university hospitals. Conditions associated with hyperferritinemia were collected, and patients were classified into 10 etiological groups.

Introduction: Adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD) is a rare multisystemic disorder and a diagnostic challenge for physicians because of the wide range of differential diagnoses. Common features of AOSD and secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (sHLH) could favour diagnostic uncertainty, in particular in case of infection-related sHLH.

Observation: A 61-year-old man was admitted to our internal medicine department for suspected AOSD.

Harmonization of programmed death-ligand 1 immunohistochemistry and mRNA expression scoring in metastatic melanoma: a multicentre analysis.

Aims: The aim of this multicentre study was to harmonize programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) immunohistochemistry (IHC) and melanoma scoring. To provide a reference for PD-L1 expression independently of the IHC protocol, PD-L1 mRNA expression was compared with IHC.

Methods And Results: Standardized PD-L1 assays (22C3, 28-8, SP142, SP263) and laboratory-developed tests (QR1, 22C3) were evaluated on three IHC platforms with a training set (seven cases).
