Background: Despite the increasing efficacy of chemotherapy, permanently unresectable colorectal liver metastases are associated with poor long-term survival. We aimed to assess whether liver transplantation plus chemotherapy could improve overall survival.
Methods: TransMet was a multicentre, open-label, prospective, randomised controlled trial done in 20 tertiary centres in Europe.
Background: This study was a secondary analysis of the ROBOGYN-1004 trial conducted between 2010 and 2015. The study aimed to identify factors that affect postoperative morbidity after either robot-assisted laparoscopy (RL) or conventional laparoscopy (CL) in gynecologic oncology.
Methods: The study used two-level logistic regression analyses to evaluate the prognostic and predictive value of patient, surgery, and center characteristics in predicting severe postoperative morbidity 6 months after surgery.

Background: Sonic hedgehog inhibitors (SHHis) are an effective treatment in locally advanced basal cell carcinoma (laBCC). However, the use of these drugs is limited by adverse events, and relapse at discontinuation in around one-half of patients. A few cases of patients treated concomitantly by radiotherapy (RT) and SHHis have been reported in the literature, suggesting that the combination results in an improved overall response.

Objectives: As many disparities in the clinical use of HIV DNA sequencing are observed, a DELPHI-type consensus was initiated in France to homogenize use, techniques and interpretation of results.
Methods: Based on a literature review and clinical experience, a steering committee (SC) of eight virologists and one infectious disease specialist formulated statements. Statements were submitted to an independent and anonymous electronic vote of virologists and HIV clinicians in France, between October 2022 and December 2022.

Objective: To assess the 5-year recurrence rate of incisional hernia repair in Ventral Hernia Working Group (VHWG) 3 hernia with a slowly resorbable mesh.
Summary Background Data: Incisional hernia recurs frequently after initial repair. In potentially contaminated hernia, recurrences rise to 40%.

Aims: Oesophageal fistula represents a rare but dreadful complication of atrial fibrillation catheter ablation. Data on its incidence, management, and outcome are sparse.
Methods And Results: This international multicentre registry investigates the characteristics of oesophageal fistulae after treatment of atrial fibrillation by catheter ablation.

Infantile nephropathic cystinosis (INC) is an inheritable lysosomal storage disorder characterized by lysosomal cystine accumulation, progressive kidney disease, and multiple extrarenal complications (ERCs). Cysteamine postpones the onset of end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) and reduces the incidence of ERCs; however, cysteamine is generally initiated upon establishment of the renal Fanconi syndrome (FS) and partial loss of kidney function, whereas data on long-term effects of cysteamine administered from neonatal age are lacking. An international multicenter retrospective cohort study of siblings with INC was set up to investigate the outcome in relation to age at initiation of cysteamine versus CTNS genotype, with attention to patients treated with cysteamine from neonatal age.

Aim: The aims of this systematic review and meta-analysis were to assess to what extent probiotics/synbiotics reduce infectious complications after colorectal surgery and whether probiotics or synbiotics should be considered as perioperative measures preventing or reducing infectious complications after CRS and should be included in enhanced recovery programmes (ERP). Secondary aims were to answer practical questions precisely on the best formulation and the type and timing of probiotics or synbiotics in CRS.
Method: This systematic review and quantitative meta-analysis were conducted in accordance with PRISMA 2020 guidelines.
Background: There is no consensus with regard to the nosology and cut-off values for postural abnormalities in parkinsonism.
Objective: To reach a consensus regarding the nosology and cut-off values.
Methods: Using a modified Delphi panel method, multiple rounds of questionnaires were conducted by movement disorder experts to define nosology and cut-offs of postural abnormalities.

Background: This retrospective multicenter cohort study compared the feasibility and safety of oxaliplatin-based pressurized intraperitoneal aerosol chemotherapy (PIPAC-Ox) with or without intraoperative intravenous 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and leucovorin (L).
Methods: Our study included consecutive patients with histologically proven unresectable and isolated colorectal peritoneal metastases (cPM) treated with PIPAC-Ox in seven tertiary referral centers between January 2015 and April 2020. Toxicity events and oncological outcomes (histological response, progression-free survival, and overall survival) were compared between patients who received intraoperative intravenous 5-FU/L (PIPAC-Ox + 5-FU/L group) and patients who did not (PIPAC-Ox group).

Purpose Of Review: To investigate the features and optimal management of pN+ cM0 prostate cancer (PCa) according to registry-based studies.
Recent Findings: Up to 15% of PCa patients harbor lymph node invasion (pN+) at radical prostatectomy plus lymph node dissection. Nonetheless, the optimal management strategy in this setting is not well characterized.

Background: Patient-reported outcome measures such as the Oxford-12 Hip Score and Hip Disability and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (HOOS) are used in daily orthopaedic practice to evaluate patients. Because different studies use different scores, it would be important to build conversion tables between scores (crosswalk) to compare the results of one study with those of another study. Various mapping methods can be used to develop crosswalk tables that convert Oxford-12 scores to the HOOS (and its derivatives, including the HOOS physical function short form, HOOS joint replacement, and HOOS-12) and vice versa.

Purpose: Influenza-associated pulmonary aspergillosis (IAPA) is a frequent complication in critically ill influenza patients, associated with significant mortality. We investigated whether antifungal prophylaxis reduces the incidence of IAPA.
Methods: We compared 7 days of intravenous posaconazole (POS) prophylaxis with no prophylaxis (standard-of-care only, SOC) in a randomised, open-label, proof-of-concept trial in patients admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) with respiratory failure due to influenza (ClinicalTrials.

The complete form of congenital stationary night blindness (cCSNB) represents a non-progressive retinal disorder characterized by night vision problems and often congenital nystagmus, reduced vision, high myopia, strabismus and normal fundus appearance. Clinically this form of CSNB can be diagnosed by full-field electroretinogram. The mode of inheritance can be X-linked and autosomal recessive with mutations in genes coding for proteins mainly present at the dendritic tips of ON-bipolar cells.

Objective: To assess the impact of surgical technique in regard to morbidity and mortality after neoadjuvant treatment for esophageal cancer.
Background: The SAKK trial 75/08 was a multicenter phase III trial (NCT01107639) comparing induction chemotherapy followed by chemoradiation and surgery in patients with locally advanced esophageal cancer.
Methods: Patients in the control arm received induction chemotherapy with cisplatin and docetaxel, followed by concomitant chemoradiation therapy with cisplatin, docetaxel, and 45Gy.
