Objectives: Individuals with congenital isolated growth hormone deficiency (IGHD) in Northeastern Brazil have a normal lifespan with a prolonged healthspan. We hypothesize that their increased healthspan is accompanied by a reduced cognitive decline during aging. We have recently shown that these individuals have a similar total cognitive function and better attention and executive function than controls.

Background: Identification of biomarkers to optimize treatment strategies for early-stage triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is crucial. This study presents the development and validation of TNBC-DX, a novel test aimed at predicting both short- and long-term outcomes in early-stage TNBC. The objective of this study was to evaluate the association between TNBC-DX and efficacy outcomes [pathologic complete response (pCR), distant disease-free survival (DDFS) or event-free survival (EFS), and overall survival (OS)] in the validation cohorts.

Background And Objective: Although prostate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is increasingly used to diagnose and stage prostate cancer (PCa), the biologic and clinical significance of MRI visibility of the disease is unclear. Our aim was to examine the existing knowledge regarding the molecular correlates of MRI visibility of PCa.
Methods: The PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases were queried through November 2023.

Background/objectives: Solitary fibrous tumors (SFTs) represent a rare mesenchymal malignancy that can occur anywhere in the body. Due to the low prevalence of the disease, there is a lack of contemporary data regarding patient demographics and cancer-control outcomes.
Methods: Within the SEER database (2000-2019), we identified 1134 patients diagnosed with malignant SFTs.

Introduction: Cutaneous stoma stenosis represents a frequent complication associated with continent catheterizable channel, often necessitating recurrent patients' consultation, hospital admission, and repetitive surgical interventions. Management strategies encompass dilatation, incision, and, in case of refractory stenosis, invasive surgical revision.
Objectives: In this study, we aimed to assess the efficacy of buccal mucosa graft as an alternative therapeutic approach for managing cutaneous catheterizable channel stenosis.

Ménière's Disease (MD) is a disease that may be difficult to diagnose and manage. Our UK survey showed variability in the practice of UK Otolaryngology consultants. We hence surveyed Otolaryngology consultants internationally, to assess their confidence levels in diagnosing MD, their use of the AAO-HNS guidelines and current diagnostic and treatment modalities.

Purpose: Even today, it remains a challenge for healthcare professionals to decide whether a clinically stable patient who is recovering from uncomplicated medium or major surgery would benefit from a postoperative intensive care unit (ICU) admission, or whether they would be at least as adequately cared for by a few hours of monitoring in the post-operative care unit (PACU).
Methods: In this monocentric retrospective observational study, all adult patients who (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Anästhesiologie und Intensivmedizin (DGAI) in Anästh Intensivmed (50):S486-S489, 2009) underwent medium or major surgery between 1 January 1 2014 and 31 December 2018 at the Heidelberg University Surgical Center, and (Vimlati et al. in Eur J Anaesthesiol September 26(9):715-721, 2009) were monitored for 1-12 h in the PACU, and then (De Pietri et al.

Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeted radioguided surgery (RGS) is evolving as a new treatment modality for patients with early biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer and disease limited to locoregional lymph nodes on PSMA-ligand PET/CT. Nevertheless, the pattern of failure (locoregional vs. systemic) after PSMA RGS remains unknown.

Background: The last few years have been characterized by increasing numbers of reverse shoulder arthroplasties. In addition to the classic indication of cuff tear arthropathy, the use for complex proximal humeral fractures (PHFs) and rotator cuff tear (RCT) in very old patients have been established. The objective of this study is to clarify and substantiate the above statements specifically for Germany (based on official data from 2010 to 2022).

We report about a 33-year-old man who was referred for assessment of a progressively enlarging mass of the palmar hand muscles, serving as the initial indication of extensive multisystemic sarcoidosis with musculoskeletal involvement. The case underscores the diagnostic challenges associated with the indolent course of sarcoidosis, highlighting the need for recognizing seemingly benign symptoms for early detection. Musculoskeletal imaging findings presented in the case stress the importance of considering sarcoidosis in the differential diagnosis of orthopedic cases.

Purpose: Recent advancements in the management of biochemical recurrence (BCR) following local treatment for prostate cancer (PCa), including the use of androgen receptor signaling inhibitors (ARSIs), have broadened the spectrum of therapeutic options. We aimed to compare salvage therapies in patients with BCR after definitive local treatment for clinically non-metastatic PCa with curative intent.
Methods: In October 2023, we queried PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and prospective studies reporting data on the efficacy of salvage therapies in PCa patients with BCR after radical prostatectomy (RP) or radiation therapy (RT).

Introduction/background: The natural history of prostate imaging reporting and data system (PIRADS) score 2 lesions on serial mpMRIs is largely unknown. Herein, we aimed to evaluate the patients with PIRADS-2 index lesions by using serial mpMRI scans to reveal the rates of mpMRI upgrade in PIRADS score and prostate cancer (PCa) detection.
Methods/materials: All mpMRI scans with a PIRADS-2 index lesion from our mpMRI database were evaluated retrospectively.
