Characteristics associated with poor COVID-19 outcomes in people with psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis and axial spondyloarthritis: data from the COVID-19 PsoProtect and Global Rheumatology Alliance physician-reported registries.

Objectives: To investigate factors associated with severe COVID-19 in people with psoriasis (PsO), psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA).

Methods: Demographic data, clinical characteristics and COVID-19 outcome severity of adults with PsO, PsA and axSpA were obtained from two international physician-reported registries. A three-point ordinal COVID-19 severity scale was defined: no hospitalisation, hospitalisation (and no death) and death.

Our objective is to analyse the determinants, time course and diagnostic accuracy (atypical atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardias [AVNRT] versus orthodromic reentrant tachycardias through an accessory pathway [ORT]) of spontaneous VA intervals variation in patients with narrow QRS tachycardias and prolonged VA. Efficacy of Eribulin Plus Gemcitabine Combination in L-Sarcomas.

Although the overall survival of advanced soft-tissue sarcoma (STS) patients has increased in recent years, the median progression-free survival is lower than 5 months, meaning that there is an unmet need in this population. IgA nephropathy: an overview of drug treatments in clinical trials.

Introduction: IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is the commonest primary glomerulonephritis worldwide and may progress to end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) within a 10-20 year period. Its slowly progressive course has made clinical trials challenging to perform, however the acceptance of proteinuria reduction as a surrogate end point has significantly improved the feasibility of conducting clinical trials in IgAN, with several novel and repurposed therapies currently undergoing assessment. Hemosuccus pancreaticus is a rare cause of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage. It is mainly produced by bleeding from a pseudoaneurysm that runs through the pancreatic duct and flows into the second portion of the duodenum. This article presents a case of a patient in the sixth decade of life with upper gastrointestinal bleeding who underwent a computed tomography (CT) scan of the abdomen finding a pseudoaneurysm of the gastroduodenal artery.

MicroRNA-19b Plays a Key Role in 5-Fluorouracil Resistance and Predicts Tumor Progression in Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer Patients.

The standard clinical management of locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) patients includes neoadjuvant 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)-based chemoradiotherapy (CRT) followed by mesorectal excision. MicroRNA (miR)-19b expression levels in LARC biopsies obtained from initial colonoscopy have recently been identified as independent predictors of both patient outcome and pathological response to preoperative CRT in this disease. Moreover, it has been discovered that this miR increases its expression in 5-FU resistant colon cancer cells after 5-FU exposure.

Management of Peripheral Arthritis in Patients With Psoriatic Arthritis: An Updated Literature Review Informing the 2021 GRAPPA Treatment Recommendations.

Objective: We aimed to compile evidence for the efficacy and safety of therapeutic options for the peripheral arthritis domain of psoriatic arthritis (PsA) for the revised 2021 Group in Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) treatment recommendations.

Methods: A working group consisting of clinicians and patient research partners was convened. We reviewed the evidence from new randomized controlled trials (RCTs) for PsA treatment from February 19, 2013, to August 28, 2020.

Trabectedin as second-line treatment in advanced soft tissue sarcoma: quality of life and safety outcomes.

The choice of second- and later-line options for advanced soft tissue sarcoma (aSTS) should always be considered from the patient's perspective, taking into account the potential impact of treatment on daily activities and quality of life. This review examines data on the safety of trabectedin in the management of patients with aSTS as reported in clinical trials and real-world studies. Evidence indicates that trabectedin exhibits an acceptable and manageable safety profile and is compatible with daily activities.

A review of the efficacy of trabectedin as second-line treatment of advanced soft tissue sarcoma.

The goal of second-line therapy for most patients with advanced soft tissue sarcoma is long-term tumor control without detriment to quality of life. Clinical practice guidelines recommend trabectedin as a second-line option for advanced soft tissue sarcoma as it can provide the necessary balance between these interwoven goals. Cumulative experience with trabectedin in clinical trials and clinical practice has informed its usage such that greater benefit can be derived.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors avoid inhibition of T-cell responses, upregulating antitumor immune response. Moreover, a dysregulation with hyperactive immune response can be caused, some of them underdiagnosed. Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis is a rare and often fatal syndrome of uncontrolled and ineffective hyperinflammatory response that triggers an inflammatory cascade that can lead in many cases to death.

Endovascular and Endoscopic Treatment of Hemobilia: A Report of Two Cases.

Hemobilia is a term used to describe bleeding caused by abnormal communication between blood vessels and bile ducts. Some vascular anomalies, such as aneurysms or arterio-biliary fistulas, facilitate the appearance of this type of biliary bleeding. Other causes have been described such as iatrogenic causes secondary to percutaneous procedures, infections, tumors, and trauma.

Pazopanib was assessed prospectively in the GEIS-32 phase II study (NCT02066285) on advanced solitary fibrous tumour (SFT), resulting in a longer progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) compared with historical controls treated with chemotherapy.
