Background: Antagonists of glycoprotein VI-triggered platelet activation used in combination with recanalisation therapies are a promising therapeutic approach in acute ischaemic stroke. Glenzocimab is an antibody fragment that inhibits the action of platelet glycoprotein VI. We aimed to determine and assess the safety and efficacy of the optimal dose of glenzocimab in patients with acute ischaemic stroke eligible to receive alteplase with or without mechanical thrombectomy.

Objectives: The TRI-SCORE reliably predicts in-hospital mortality after isolated tricuspid valve surgery (ITVS) on native valve but has not been tested in the setting of redo interventions. We aimed to evaluate the predictive value of the TRI-SCORE for in-hospital mortality in patients with redo ITVS and to compare its accuracy with conventional surgical risk scores.
Methods: Using a mandatory administrative database, we identified all consecutive adult patients who underwent a redo ITVS at 12 French tertiary centres between 2007 and 2017.

Background: A potential benefit of intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) before mechanical thrombectomy (MT) is pre-interventional reperfusion. Currently, there are few data on the occurrence of pre-interventional reperfusion in patients randomized to IVT or no IVT before MT.
Methods: SWIFT DIRECT (Solitaire With the Intention For Thrombectomy Plus Intravenous t-PA vs DIRECT Solitaire Stent-retriever Thrombectomy in Acute Anterior Circulation Stroke) was a randomized controlled trial including acute ischemic stroke IVT eligible patients being directly admitted to a comprehensive stroke center, with allocation to IVT with MT versus MT alone.

Background: Patients treated with acute carotid stenting (CAS) may have higher odds of a favorable outcome than those treated without CAS during thrombectomy in tandem occlusions. Antiplatelet therapy is associated with CAS to avoid stent thrombosis, which occurs in around 20% of patients and negatively impacts outcomes. In this study we compared two antiplatelet strategies in tandem occlusion strokes treated with CAS and intracranial thrombectomy in clinical practice.

Background: The Safety and Efficacy of Intensive Blood Pressure Lowering after Successful Endovascular Therapy in Acute Ischaemic Stroke (BP TARGET) trial demonstrated no benefit from intensive systolic blood pressure (SBP) treatment after successful reperfusion with endovascular therapy. However, it remains unknown if the response to blood pressure treatment is modified by other factors.
Objective: To carry out a post hoc analysis of the BP TARGET trial data to determine if the response to blood pressure treatment is modified by factors such as age, history of hypertension, recanalization status, location of occlusion, diabetes, hyperglycemia, or pretreatment with intravenous thrombolysis.

Mechanical thrombectomy is now the standard of care for acute ischemic stroke patients with large vessel occlusions, and can be performed with several devices and techniques. One of these techniques, direct aspiration (DA), consists of navigating a large-bore catheter up to the face of the clot and initiating forceful suction. This comprehensive review has three objectives: (1) to describe the direct aspiration technique; (2) to present the available evidence regarding predictive factors of DA success and performance compared with other techniques; and (3) to discuss the forthcoming improvements in distal aspiration.

Background: To date, the choice of optimal anesthetic management during endovascular therapy (EVT) of acute ischemic stroke patients remains subject to debate. We aimed to compare functional outcomes and complication rates of EVT according to the first-line anesthetic management in two comprehensive stroke centers: local anesthesia (LA) versus general anesthesia (GA).
Methods: Retrospective analysis of prospectively collected databases, identifying all consecutive EVT for strokes in the anterior circulation performed between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018 in two EVT-capable stroke centers.
