Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of ultrasound examination of the salivary glands (US-SG) according to the 2019 Outcome Measures in Rheumatology (OMERACT) US scoring system for Sjögren's syndrome (SS).
Methods: The present work was a retrospective study based on a multicentric cohort with SS/sicca syndrome. The American College of Rheumatology (ACR)/European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) 2016 classification criteria for SS (a score of ≥4 without ocular staining score), the American-European Consensus Group (AECG) 2002 classification criteria, and clinician experts were considered as reference standards for diagnosis of SS.

Introduction: Borderline ovarian tumors (BOTs) although rare, have shown an increase in the incidence worldwide. Although the survival rate is high, the recurrence rate is estimated to be between 5% and 34%. The objective of this study was to identify risk factors for recurrence of BOTs.

Purpose: Medulloblastoma has recently been characterized as a heterogeneous disease with 4 distinct molecular subgroups: wingless (WNT), sonic hedgehog (SHH), group 3, and group 4, with a new definition of risk stratification. We report progression-free survival, overall survival, and long-term cognitive effects in children with standard-risk medulloblastoma exclusively treated with hyperfractionated radiation therapy (HFRT), reduced boost volume, and online quality control, and we explore the prognostic value of biological characteristics in this chemotherapy-naïve population.
Methods And Materials: Patients with standard-risk medulloblastoma were enrolled in 2 successive prospective multicentric studies, MSFOP 98 and MSFOP 2007, and received exclusive HFRT (36 Gy, 1 Gy/fraction twice daily) to the craniospinal axis followed by a boost at 68 Gy restricted to the tumor bed (1.

Background: Cutaneous microcystic lymphatic malformations (CMLMs) are rare conditions in children and adults. They present as clusters of vesicles full of lymph and blood to various extents, inducing maceration, esthetic impairment, pain, and impaired quality of life. The treatment is challenging.

Background: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with a gadolinium injection is currently used in the follow-up of children in remission of cerebral tumors (CTs). Intracerebral gadolinium deposition has been recently reported with unknown risks. The aim of this study was to evaluate the sensitivity of unenhanced brain MRI (U-MRI) in detection of tumor recurrence.

On the severity spectrum, lower-end patients benefit from small amounts of topical anti-inflammatory treatments (TAT), whereas higher-end patients need systemic immunosuppressants; in-between patients are treated with TAT and phototherapy. The major therapeutic challenge in this population is the long-term control of disease activity, and the current TAT-based pro-active strategy does not meet all their needs.

Lymphomas are common malignancies with highly variable clinical presentations and prognosis. Prognostic value of clinical presentation at onset is still questioned. The objective of this study was to compare the disease presentation and the outcome of lymphomas diagnosed in an Internal Medicine Department of a University Hospital to disease presentation and outcome of patients who were referred to the Hematology Department of the same institution by other departments or healthcare facilities.

Background: Infection and skin fistula are well-known complications after cranioplasty leading to reconstruction exposure and usually requiring new surgical procedure with poor condition for cutaneous closure. We describe 2 cases using muscle forehead flap (MFF) to treat skin fistula and cranioplasty exposure.
Case Description: The first case was a 43-year-old man who underwent a calvarial bone graft of the frontal sinus anterior wall after craniofacial trauma.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and multiple sclerosis (MS) are two neurological disorders that seem, theoretically, completely divergent according to epidemiological, clinical, pathophysiological, and therapeutic data. However, some reports that have mentioned the occurrence of both conditions within the same patient underpin the suggestion that this co-occurrence might not be random. We report six co-occurrences of ALS and MS cases, focusing on epidemiological and clinical diseases findings.

Interleukin-1 receptor (IL1R)-associated kinase 4 (IRAK4) is a central regulator of innate immune signaling, controlling IL1R and Toll-like receptor (TLR)-mediated responses and containing both scaffolding and kinase activities. Humans deficient in IRAK4 activity have autosomal recessive primary immune deficiency (PID). Here, we characterized the molecular mechanism of dysfunction of two IRAK4 PID variants, G298D and the compound variant R12C (R12C/R391H/T458I).

Importance: Randomized trials have not focused on neonatal complications of glyburide for women with gestational diabetes.
Objective: To compare oral glyburide vs subcutaneous insulin in prevention of perinatal complications in newborns of women with gestational diabetes.
Design, Settings, And Participants: The Insulin Daonil trial (INDAO), a multicenter noninferiority randomized trial conducted between May 2012 and November 2016 (end of participant follow-up) in 13 tertiary care university hospitals in France including 914 women with singleton pregnancies and gestational diabetes diagnosed between 24 and 34 weeks of gestation.

Background: Placental elasticity may be modified in women with placental insufficiency. Shear wave elastography (SWE) can measure this, using acoustic radiation force, but the safety of its use in pregnant women has not yet been demonstrated. Transient elastography (TE) is a safer alternative, but has not yet been applied to the placenta.

Purpose: Sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (SOS) is a likely side effect of colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) chemotherapy. This study aimed to assess computed tomography scan (CT-scan) performance for SOS diagnosis for patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NC) prior to CRLM surgery, comparing obtained results with pathological gold standard.
Methods: Preoperative CT-scans of 67 patients who had received a NC prior to liver resection for CRLM from 2011 to 2016 were retrospectively analysed.

Background: Anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC) is a rare tumor, with poorly defined oncogenic molecular mechanisms and limited therapeutic options contributing to its poor prognosis. The aims of this retrospective study were to determine the frequency of anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) translocations and to identify the mutational profile of ATC including TERT promoter mutations.
Methods And Materials: One hundred and forty-four ATC cases were collected from 10 centers that are a part of the national French network for management of refractory thyroid tumors.

Purpose: This preclinical study aimed to evaluate placental oxygenation in pregnant rats by real-time photoacoustic (PA) imaging on different days of gestation and to specify variations in placental oxygen saturation under conditions of maternal hypoxia and hyperoxygenation.
Material And Methods: Placentas of fifteen Sprague-Dawley rats were examined on days 14, 17, and 20 of pregnancy with a PA imaging system coupled to high-resolution ultrasound imaging. Pregnant rats were successively exposed to hyperoxygenated and hypoxic conditions by changing the oxygen concentration in inhaled gas.
