(1) This study evaluates the impact of the CT-guided SIRIO augmented reality navigation system on the procedural efficacy and clinical outcomes of neuroprotection in vertebral thermal ablation (RTA) for primary and metastatic bone tumors. (2) Methods: A retrospective non-randomized analysis of 28 vertebral RTA procedures was conducted, comparing 12 SIRIO-assisted and 16 non-SIRIO-assisted procedures. The primary outcomes included dose-length product (DLP) and epidural dissection time.

The age of the patients (4 male and 6 female) at the time of surgery and histological assessment varied from 3 months to 57 years.

BAP1-Inactivated Melanoma Arising From BAP1-Inactivated Melanocytic Tumor in a Patient With BAP1 Germline Mutation: A Case Report and Review of the Literature.

BAP1-inactivated melanocytic tumors represent a subset of epithelioid melanocytic neoplasms resulting from biallelic inactivation of the BAP1 gene and by a driver mutation that activate the MAP kinase pathway, most commonly BRAFV600E. They occur sporadically or, less common, in the setting of BAP1 tumor predisposition syndrome caused by a BAP1 germline mutation that predisposes to several malignancies including cutaneous and uveal melanoma. To date, only few cases of BAP1-inactivated melanomas have been reported.

Cardiopulmonary disease as sequelae of long-term COVID-19: Current perspectives and challenges.

COVID-19 infection primarily targets the lungs, which in severe cases progresses to cytokine storm, acute respiratory distress syndrome, multiorgan dysfunction, and shock. Survivors are now presenting evidence of cardiopulmonary sequelae such as persistent right ventricular dysfunction, chronic thrombosis, lung fibrosis, and pulmonary hypertension. This review will summarize the current knowledge on long-term cardiopulmonary sequelae of COVID-19 and provide a framework for approaching the diagnosis and management of these entities.

Infection prevention and control policies in hospitals and prevalence of highly resistant microorganisms: an international comparative study.

Background: There are differences in infection prevention and control (IPC) policies to prevent transmission of highly resistant microorganisms (HRMO). The aim of this study is to give an overview of the IPC policy of six European hospitals and their HRMO prevalence, to compare the IPC policies of these hospitals with international guidelines, and to investigate the hospitals' adherence to their own IPC policy.

Methods: The participating hospitals were located in Salzburg (Austria), Vienna (Austria), Kayseri (Turkey), Piraeus (Greece), Rome (Italy) and Rotterdam (The Netherlands).

Background: Pharyngoesophageal reconstruction with the tubed anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap is burdened by possible strictures and pharyngocutaneous fistulae (PCF). We present our experience with the U-shaped insetting of perforator-based chimeric ALT flap focusing on surgical technique, complications and functional outcomes.
