Efforts to improve research standards in orthopaedics, sports medicine, physical therapy, and rehabilitation are ongoing. Rrehabilitation andomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) are widely regarded as the gold standard for the collection of primary data. Similarly, systematic reviews, due to their methodological rigor, have become the gold standard for evidence synthesis in medicine.

Background: Reliable scientific information is crucial for assessing hip function and evaluating the success of hip surgery. The Harris Hip Score (HHS) is the most widely used tool for measuring hip function and, in particular, the outcomes of hip surgery. The aim of this study was to conduct a systematic review of the literature to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that reported the HHS for hip replacement treatment groups and to test whether there was a substantial difference between reporting only the postoperative HHS or the HHS difference (HHSdiff).

Antigravity treadmill training provides a viable option for physiotherapeutic care after knee surgery, especially for conditions that do not allow full weight bearing during the early phase post-intervention. This overview of the current state of knowledge identifies gaps and highlights areas where more research on antigravity treadmill training after knee surgery is needed. This review aimed to analyze and summarize the available evidence concerning the effects of antigravity treadmill training on patients after knee joint surgical procedures, including anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) and total (TKA) and unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA).

Background: To investigate awareness, use, and perceptions of the patient guidelines (PGs) of the German Guideline Program in Oncology (GGPO) and to explore general preferences regarding cancer information among patients and healthcare providers (HCPs).
Methods: Two cross-sectional surveys among patients with cancer (November 2020-May 2021) and among HCPs (April -June 2021) were set up as anonymised, self-administered, semi-structured online surveys, including open-ended questions. Data were analysed with descriptive statistics and qualitative thematic analysis.

Purpose: Unicondylar arthroplasty was performed using robotic medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (R-mUKA) and gap-balancing instrumentation. Our hypothesis was that robotic unicondylar knee arthroplasty accurately restores component positioning and lower limb alignment when compared to preoperative planning with actual implantation throughout the range of knee motion due to proper knee balancing.
Methods: Data were collected prospectively and were analysed for patients undergoing RM-UKA.

Purpose: The purpose of the present scoping review is to identify sources of heterogeneity in reporting domains that have the potential to improve surgical decision-making in reverse shoulder arthroplasty associated with glenoid bone grafting.
Methods: A scoping review was conducted according to the JBI and PRISMA ScR guidelines. Articles covering glenoid bone grafting at the time of reverse shoulder replacement, published between 2012 and 2022 in MEDLINE, Scopus, Epistemonikos, Web of Science, and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, were searched.

Despite the growing popularity of training with a controlled form of vascular occlusion, known as blood flow restriction (BFR) training, in the rehabilitation of orthopedic patients and sports medicine, there remains ample space for understanding the basis of its mechanism. The pilot study assessed the effect of BFR during a low-load resistance training unit on knee flexor muscle fatigue, intending to decide whether a larger trial is needed and feasible. : The study used a prospective, randomized, parallel, double-blind, placebo-controlled design.

Purpose: Over the past two decades, lamellar keratoplasty procedures, such as Descemet's Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK) and Descemet's Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK) as well as Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty (DALK), have become an integral part of clinical practice. With advances in contact lens fitting for keratoconus management and the implementation of UVA-Riboflavin Crosslinking (CXL), the landscape of keratoplasty indications is undergoing changes. Procedures and indications in a single tertiary care center over the past two decades are reviewed in this retrospective analysis.

Background: Gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms in cystic fibrosis (CF) are common and disruptive. The effect of cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) modulators on the GI tract is not fully understood. The aim was to use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to determine if elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor (ETI) changed GI function and transit.

Purpose: The impact of pediatric traumatic brain injury (pTBI) on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in children and adolescents remains understudied. Short scales have some advantages in terms of economy and administration over longer scales, especially in younger children. The aim of the present study is to psychometrically evaluate the six-item German version of the QOLIBRI-OS-KID/ADO scale for children and adolescents.

Introduction: Polypropylene material is commonly used for posterior wall reconstruction in hernia repair, in contrast with the classically described stainless-steel wire used at Shouldice Hospital. This study was conducted to evaluate possible differences in Shouldice Repair outcomes using polypropylene or stainless-steel wire sutures.
Methods: A prospective follow-up of consecutive patients who underwent elective unilateral Shouldice primary inguinal hernia repair at Shouldice Hospital between December 6, 2021, and September 1, 2022, was conducted.

In this study, the effects of different combinations of the genes , , and injected both using direct virus-mediated injection (adenovirus, Ad5) and umbilical cord blood mononuclear cells (UCBCs) on the processes of stimulation of post-ischemic innervation, angiogenesis, and regeneration in skeletal muscle were investigated in a rat hindlimb chronic ischemia model. It was shown that more pronounced stimulation of angiogenesis and restoration of post-ischemic innervation were achieved both in the early (28 days post-ischemia, dpi) and late (42 dpi) terms of the experiment in the calf muscle when UCBCs delivered the combination of Ad5- and Ad5- compared to the direct injection of the same vector combination into the area of ischemia. At the same time, the inclusion of Ad5- in the combination of Ad5- and Ad5- directly injected or administered by UCBCs provided a significant increase in the number of centronuclear muscle fibers, indicating stimulation of post-ischemic reparative myogenesis.

Background: People with cystic fibrosis (CF) can experience recurrent chest infections, pancreatic exocrine insufficiency and gastrointestinal symptoms. New cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) modulator drugs improve lung function but gastrointestinal effects are unclear. We aimed to see if a CFTR modulator (tezacaftor-ivacaftor,TEZ/IVA) improves gastrointestinal outcomes in CF.
