Botulinum toxin A (BTX) and microwave thermolysis (MWT) are standard axillary hyperhidrosis treatments, but comparison of their subclinical effects is lacking. Line-field confocal optical coherence tomography (LC-OCT) is a promising non-invasive imaging tool for visualizing tissue-interactions. This study aimed to describe subclinical effects of BTX and MWT for axillary hyperhidrosis with LC-OCT-imaging compared to histology.

Alpha-gal IgE level can change rapidly. Reassessment of a patient's alpha-gal IgE level may be helpful in the patient's clinical follow-up. Pruritus related to the site of a previous tick bite strengthens the diagnosis of alpha-gal syndrome.

The musculoskeletal system, crucial for movement and support, relies on the delicate balance of connective tissue homeostasis. Maintaining this equilibrium is essential for tissue health and function. There has been increasing evidence in the past decade that shows the circadian clock as a master regulator of extracellular matrix (ECM) homeostasis in several connective tissue clocks.

Background And Objectives: Dual amylin and calcitonin receptor agonists (DACRAs) are therapeutic candidates in the treatment of obesity with beneficial effects on weight loss superior to suppression of food intake. Hence, suggesting effects on energy expenditure by possibly targeting mitochondria in metabolically active tissue.
Methods: Male rats with HFD-induced obesity received a DACRA, KBP-336, every third day for 8 weeks.

Background: Few cost-effective strategies to shift dietary habits of populations in a healthier direction have been identified. We examined if participating in a chatbot health education program transmitted by Short Messages Service ("SMS-program") could improve adolescent dietary behaviors and body weight trajectories. We also explored possible added effects of maternal or peer involvement.

Incretin-based therapies are highly successful in combatting obesity and type 2 diabetes. Yet both activation and inhibition of the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor (GIPR) in combination with glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor (GLP-1R) activation have resulted in similar clinical outcomes, as demonstrated by the GIPR-GLP-1R co-agonist tirzepatide and AMG-133 (ref. ) combining GIPR antagonism with GLP-1R agonism.

Background And Objectives: Cortical lesions contribute to disability in multiple sclerosis (MS), but their impact on regional neurotransmitter levels remains to be clarified. We tested the hypothesis that cortical lesions are associated with regional glutamate and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) concentrations within the affected cortical region.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we used structural 7T MRI to segment cortical lesions and 7T proton MR-spectroscopy of the bilateral sensorimotor hand areas to quantify regional GABA, glutamate, -acetylaspartate, and myoinositol concentrations in patients with MS (inclusion criteria: diagnosis of relapsing-remitting [RR] or secondary progressive MS [SPMS]; age 18-80 years) and age and sex-matched healthy controls.

This study aimed to explore the self-management strategies of Danish patients living with advanced Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), with a particular focus on their daily life and their interactions with the respiratory outpatient clinic. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 11 patients with COPD affiliated with a Danish respiratory outpatient clinic. The data were thematically analyzed as suggested by Braun & Clarke.

Interferon-beta has been suggested as a trigger of psoriasis, yet a systematic investigation is lacking. This study aimed to assess the risk of developing psoriasis following interferon-beta treatment, utilizing a pharmaco-epidemiological approach to investigate the role of interferon-beta in psoriasis pathogenesis. We included all treatment-naïve patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) in Denmark who initiated interferon-beta treatment for MS from January 1996 to June 2023.

Background: It is necessary to better understand the structural characteristics of the supraspinatus tendon and associated muscle after rotator cuff repair and in the event of retear.
Purpose: To study structural differences between the repaired and contralateral shoulders 1 year after rotator cuff repair in patients who received either progressive exercise therapy (PR) or usual care (UC) in a randomized controlled trial and to investigate whether there was interaction with tendon retear and limb dominance.
Study Design: Cohort study; Level of evidence, 2.

Objective: This study aimed to explore healthcare professionals' experiences in caring for nursing home residents with dementia, with a focus on rationales behind the use of antipsychotics.
Method: Twelve semi-structured interviews with healthcare professionals' from Danish nursing homes were conducted and analyzed using the method Systematic Text Condensation.

Background: Anti-interleukin (IL)-5 biologics effectively reduce exacerbations and the need for maintenance oral corticosteroids (mOCS) in severe eosinophilic asthma. However, it is unknown how long anti-IL-5 treatment should be continued. Data from clinical trials indicate a gradual but variable loss of control after treatment cessation.

Objectives: The study investigators hypothesized that excess apoB is associated with an increased risk of myocardial infarction (MI), atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), and all-cause mortality.
Methods: The study included 53,484 women and 41,624 men not taking statins from the Copenhagen General Population Study.

Atopic diseases such as atopic dermatitis, food allergy, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, and/or asthma are common. In Denmark, however, there are multiple referral pathways for these diseases in the healthcare system and they are poorly understood. To describe how children with atopic diseases navigate their way through the Danish healthcare system, a questionnaire was distributed to children aged ≤ 17 years, who were being treated for atopic diseases between August 2020 and June 2021, either by a practising specialist or a hospital department, in the Capital Region of Denmark.

We aimed to investigate the DEX-CRH test as a biomarker to distinguish between MDD and work-related stress (exhaustion disorder - ED). We hypothesized that there would be lower cortisol and ACTH response in participants with ED compared to MDD and healthy controls (HC).

Paracetamol is suggested to have endocrine disrupting properties possibly affecting fetal programming of reproductive health that might lead to impaired semen quality and changes in reproductive hormones. In this longitudinal study, we included 1058 young adult men born 1998-2000 into the Danish National Birth Cohort with follow-up at 18-21 years of age. The exposure, maternal intake of paracetamol, was modelled in three ways: dichotomized, trimester-specific, and as duration of exposure categorized into: short (1-2 weeks), medium (3-9 weeks) or long duration (>9 weeks) vs.

Background: Flare patterns are not routinely considered in the severity classification or in clinical decision-making of atopic dermatitis (AD), but frequent or severe flares may contribute considerably to the disease burden.
Objectives: To characterize patients with AD in relation to their flare pattern and compare flare patterns to disease severity, life quality and treatment satisfaction.
Methods: Patients with AD from the Danish Skin Cohort were included if they had active AD with and available data on number of flare-ups within the last 12 months.

Aim: Organ preservation strategies for patients with rectal cancer are increasingly common. In appropriately selected patients, local excision (LE) of pT1 cancers can reduce morbidity without compromising cancer-related outcomes. However, determining the need for completion surgery after LE can be challenging, and it is unknown if prior LE compromises subsequent total mesorectal excision (TME).

Objective: To describe the management of T1 colon cancer in a retrospective study of a national cancer registry.
Background: There is increasing interest in the potential of local excision (LE) as an organ-preserving treatment for early colon cancer. However, accurate identification of patients who may have lymph node metastases (LNM) and require further surgery is a major challenge.
