Background: Although radiologic honeycombing is generally associated with progressive fibrosis and a dismal prognosis, some patients display an unexpectedly indolent clinical course. We aimed to assess for variants of honeycombing associated with a more favorable prognosis.
Methods: A computer-assisted search was conducted to identify patients encountered at Mayo Clinic from 1998 to 2022 who had undergone chest CT that manifested exuberant honeycombing.

Purpose: Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) is a congenital heart disease, and patients undergo surgical repair early in their lives. The evaluation of TOF patients is continuous through their adulthood. The use of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) is vital for the evaluation of TOF patients.

This study aims to create a strong binary classifier and evaluate the performance of pre-trained convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to effectively distinguish between benign and malignant ovarian tumors from still ultrasound images. The dataset consisted of 3510 ultrasound images from 585 women with ovarian tumors, 390 benign and 195 malignant, that were classified by experts and verified by histopathology. A 20% to80% split for training and validation was applied within a k-fold cross-validation framework, ensuring comprehensive utilization of the dataset.

Ischemic bowel disease is considered a high-risk factor for infection from anaerobic bacteria, as the ischemic bowel is the perfect ground for their development. Herein, we present the case of an advance stage colon cancer patient with a rare cause of gastrointestinal bleeding and bacteremia due to , a rare anaerobic Gram-positive bacterium. The patient had presented with several episodes of hematochezia in the context of chronic superior mesenteric-portal vein tumor thrombosis and rupture of ectopic varices, and the bacteremia was an unexpected complication of the bowel ischemia due to a combination of arterial ischemia and venous congestion.

Background: the objective of this longitudinal study (from pregnancy to the end of the sixth month postpartum) is to elucidate the association between maternal self-efficacy, defined as a mother's confidence in her ability to breastfeed, and breastfeeding outcomes.
Methods: This prospective cohort study was conducted among high-risk pregnant women (including those with conditions such as gestational diabetes, hypertension, pre-eclampsia, and other pathological medical conditions) and normal-risk pregnant women in Greece. The high-risk group included 164 women, while the normal-risk group comprised 154 women.

Effective communication and collaboration among healthcare professionals are crucial for delivering high-quality patient care. Interdepartmental miscommunication poses a significant challenge to healthcare systems, potentially undermining the quality of healthcare services provided. In the same manner, communication barriers between referring physicians and radiologists can specifically affect radiology services and patient outcomes.

Despite the progress in the care of individuals with heart failure (HF), important sex disparities in knowledge and management remain, covering all the aspects of the syndrome, from aetiology and pathophysiology to treatment. Important distinctions in phenotypic presentation are widely known, but the mechanisms behind these differences are only partially defined. The impact of sex-specific conditions in the predisposition to HF has gained progressive interest in the HF community.

One of the World Health Organization's targets for the 2030 viral hepatitis elimination strategy is to reduce new hepatitis C (HCV) infections. In Athens, Greece, people who inject drugs (PWID) have a high HCV prevalence, with increasing trends since the 2000s. This analysis aims to assess primary HCV incidence among PWID during 2012-2020.

Introduction: Silent pauses are regarded as integral components of the temporal organization of speech. However, it has also been hypothesized that they serve as markers for internal cognitive processes, including word access, monitoring, planning, and memory functions. Although existing evidence across various pathological populations underscores the importance of investigating silent pauses' characteristics, particularly in terms of frequency and duration, there is a scarcity of data within the domain of post-stroke aphasia.

Background: Several rare surfactant-related gene (SRG) variants associated with interstitial lung disease are suspected to be associated with lung cancer, but data are missing. We aimed to study the epidemiology and phenotype of lung cancer in an international cohort of SRG variant carriers.
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study of all adults with SRG variants in the OrphaLung network and compared lung cancer risk with telomere-related gene (TRG) variant carriers.

Aims: Both low and high body mass index (BMI) are associated with poor heart failure outcomes. Whether BMI modifies benefits of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) requires further investigation.
Methods And Results: Using EMPEROR-Preserved data, the effects of empagliflozin versus placebo on the risks for the primary outcome (hospitalization for heart failure [HHF] or cardiovascular [CV] death), change in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) slopes, change in Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire clinical summary score (KCCQ-CSS), and secondary outcomes across baseline BMI categories (<25 kg/m, 25 to <30 kg/m, 30 to <35 kg/m, 35 to <40 kg/m and ≥40 kg/m) were examined, and a meta-analysis conducted with DELIVER.
