Radionuclide theranostics - a fast-growing emerging field in radiopharmaceutical sciences and nuclear medicine - offers a personalised and precised treatment approach by combining diagnosis with specific and selective targeted endoradiotherapy. This concept is based on the application of the same molecule, labelled with radionuclides possessing complementary imaging and therapeutic properties, respectively. In radionuclide theranostics, radionuclide pairs consisting of the same element, such as Cu/Cu, Pb/Pb or I/I are of significant interest due to their identical chemical and pharmacological characteristics.

Background: The shoulder is the joint most often affected by dislocations. It is known that bony defects of the glenoid and/or humerus can lead to recurrent dislocations even after arthroscopic shoulder stabilization. To prevent recurrent instability, it appears reasonable to reduce fresh and larger Hill-Sachs lesions (off-track lesions).

Objective: The size of unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIA) remains the most crucial risk factor for treatment decisions. On the other side, there is a non-negligible portion of small ruptured IA and large stable UIA. This study aimed to identify the patients' characteristics related to IA size in the context of IA rupture status.

Background: Recently, radiotheranostics comprising the true matched radionuclide pair Pb could serve as real dosimetric planning utility using Pb-radiolabelled pharmaceuticals before therapy with Pb-radiolabelled counterparts. Pb might act as the missing radionuclide therapy between standard β therapies (e.g.

Background: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) still has a relatively high complication rate, underscoring the importance of high-quality training. Despite existing guidelines, real-world data on training conditions remain limited. This pan-European survey aims to systematically explore the perceptions surrounding ERCP training.

New therapeutic strategies for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) have been developed in the past to achieve the best response rates. Most recently, the use of combination therapies has been explored to optimize patient outcomes. Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors (PARPi) may help to treat mCRPC more effectively.

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into radiology aims to improve diagnostic accuracy and efficiency, particularly in settings with limited access to expert radiologists and in times of personnel shortage. However, challenges such as insufficient validation in actual real-world settings or automation bias should be addressed before implementing AI software in clinical routine. This cross-sectional study in a maximum care hospital assesses the concordance between diagnoses made by a commercial AI-based software and conventional radiological methods augmented by AI for four major thoracic pathologies in chest X-ray: fracture, pleural effusion, pulmonary nodule and pneumonia.

Rationale: The chronic lung disease bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) remains the most common complication of extreme prematurity (<28 weeks of gestation). Umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (UC-MSCs) represent an opportunity for autologous cell-therapy, as UC-MSCs have been shown to improve lung function and structure in experimental BPD. However, characterization and repair capacity of UC-MSCs derived from donors with pregnancy-related complications associated with prematurity remain unexplored.

Basal cell carcinoma is the most common malignant tumor in the fair-skinned population and its incidence continues to rise. An update of the S2k guideline with the participation of all specialist societies familiar with the clinical picture and previous literature research is of great importance for the quality of care for affected patients. In addition to epidemiology, diagnostics and histology are discussed.

Artificial intelligence (AI) methods enable humans to analyse large amounts of data, which would otherwise not be feasibly quantifiable. This is especially true for unstructured visual and textual data, which can contain invaluable insights into disease. The hepatology research landscape is complex and has generated large amounts of data to be mined.

Background: Our aim is to investigate the association of treatment with survival in patients with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) by examining 6 historical treatment paths.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data from 409 patients with radiologically centrally reviewed DIPG, sourced from the German Society of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology HIT-HGG trial database and the SIOPE-DIPG/DMG Registry. Survival outcomes were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method, and univariable and multivariable Cox proportional hazard models were estimated to study treatment effects.

Ferroptosis is a regulated and non-apoptotic form of cell death mediated by iron-dependent peroxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acyl tails in phospholipids. Research of the past years has shed light on the occurrence of ferroptosis in organ injury and degenerative diseases of the brain, kidney, heart, and other tissues. Hence, ferroptosis inhibition may prove therapeutically beneficial to treat distinct diseases.

The class-II transactivator (CIITA) is the master regulator of MHC class-II gene expression and hence the adaptive immune response. Three cell type-specific promoters (pI, pIII, and pIV) are involved in the regulation of CIITA expression, which can be induced by IFN-γ in non-immune cells. While key regulatory elements have been identified within these promoters, our understanding of the transcription factors regulating CIITA expression is incomplete.
