Background: Our study gives a clear result about sealants treatment in preventing dental caries manifestation and reducing its prevalence in children aged 6-11 years old.
Aim And Objective: This study aims to compare and evaluate the progress of dental caries in the first and second permanent molars and also to evaluate, within a period of 24 months, the clinical effects of dental sealants, used in the treatment of occlusive cavities, among children 6-11 years old.
Materials And Methods: Participants: The overall sample was composed of 120 children, to whom we randomly chose 480 posterior teeth, which were divided into two groups.

O-Prenylcoumarins (3,3-dimethylallyl, geranyl-, farnesyl- and related biosynthetic derivatives) represent a class of rarely occurring natural compounds. Most of these secondary metabolites have been obtained from plant species belonging to the Rutaceae, Apiaceae, and Fabaceae families, and from fungi, and bacteria. In the last two decades, prenyloxycoumarins have been found to possess great potential in terms of pharmacological activities.

Pre-surgical mapping is clinically essential in the surgical management of brain tumors to preserve functions. A common technique to localize eloquent areas is functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). In tumors involving the peri-rolandic regions, the finger tapping task (FTT) is typically administered to delineate the functional activation of hand-knob area.

PPARγ is known to be a key regulator of metabolism and storage of lipids and glucose and to be implicated in the pathology of severe syndromes like obesity, diabetes, atherosclerosis and cancer. As a continuation of the authors' studies on oxyprenylated secondary metabolites as effective PPARγ agonists, the authors describe herein the chemical synthesis of natural -prenyl cinnamaldehydes and cinnamyl alcohols and preliminary data on their effects on PPARγ transcription. Among the panel of eight compounds tested, three - namely, (2E)-3-(4-((E)3,7-dimethylocta-2,6-dienyloxy)-3-methoxyphenyl)acrylaldehyde, (2E)-3-(4-((E)3,7-dimethylocta-2,6-dienyloxy)-3-methoxyphenyl)prop-2-en-1-ol and boropinal A - exerted activity in a dose-dependent manner.

The aim of this study was to perform a meta-analysis of studies evaluating the association of clinic and daytime, nighttime, and 24-h blood pressure with the occurrence of new-onset atrial fibrillation. We conducted a literature search through PubMed, Web of science, and Cochrane Library for articles evaluating the occurrence of new-onset atrial fibrillation in relation to the above-mentioned blood pressure parameters and reporting adjusted hazard ratio and 95% confidence interval. We identified five studies.

Metabolic syndrome has several characteristic manifestations, including insulin resistance and dyslipidaemia, that demand therapeutic approaches, such as the inhibition of enzymes involved in nutrient absorption and digestion. This study aimed to evaluate the potential pharmacological use of natural compounds widespread in the plant kingdom and their semisynthetic compounds against target enzymes. Twenty-three oxyprenylated natural compoundswere investigated for their ability to inhibit α-amylase, α-glucosidase, and pancreatic lipase enzymes by in vitro assays.

Objective: The COVID-19 pandemic made working from home (WFH) the new way of working. This study investigates the impact that family-work conflict, social isolation, distracting environment, job autonomy, and self-leadership have on employees' productivity, work engagement, and stress experienced when WFH during the pandemic.
Methods: This cross-sectional study analyzed data collected through an online questionnaire completed by 209 employees WFH during the pandemic.

Restrictive measures adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to limit contagion, have had a severe impact on mental health. The burden of lockdown has been particularly heavy on patients with chronic neurologic diseases such as People with Epilepsy (PwE). Our survey aims to describe the struggles and needs of Drug-Resistant (DR) PwE with implanted Vagal Nerve Stimulator (VNS) during the first wave of the COVID-19 lockdown in order to find strategies that help patients cope with present or future periods of restriction.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate maintenance of the original anatomy of the root canal diameters instrumented with the Mtwo rotary instruments and BioRace file systems. Acrylic resin blocks with 160 simulated root canals with an angle curvature 15°-30° were taken into consideration in the present comparative study. The 160 simulated root canals were divided into two groups, each of them containing 80 acrylic resin blocks.

Background: HER2-targeting agents have dramatically changed the therapeutic landscape of HER2+ advanced breast cancer (ABC). Within a short time frame, the rapid introduction of new therapeutics has led to the approval of pertuzumab combined with trastuzumab and a taxane in first-line, and trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) in second-line. Thereby, evidence of T-DM1 efficacy following trastuzumab/pertuzumab combination is limited, with data from some retrospective reports suggesting lower activity.

Background: Selexipag is an oral selective prostacyclin IP receptor agonist approved in patients with low- and intermediate-risk pulmonary hypertension (PH); evidence in patients at high risk is lacking.
Case Summary: A 42-year-old woman with worsening dyspnoea (World Health Organization functional class III-IV) and suspected PH at echocardiographic examination was evaluated in our Pulmonary Hypertension Centre. Right heart catheterization showed pre-capillary PH with reduced cardiac index and increased pulmonary vascular resistance.

Background: Risk of atrial fibrillation (AF) in masked and white coat uncontrolled hypertension (MUCH and WUCH, respectively) has not yet been investigated. We assessed the risk of new-onset AF in MUCH and WUCH detected by ambulatory blood pressure (BP) monitoring.
Methods: The occurrence of AF was evaluated in 2,135 treated hypertensive patients aged >40 years, with baseline sinus rhythm, by electrocardiogram.

Introduction: Esophageal atresia (EA) is associated with duodenal atresia (DA) in 3 to 6% of cases. The management of this association is controversial and literature is scarce on the topic.
Materials And Methods: We aimed to (1) review the patients with EA + DA treated at our institution and (2) systematically review the English literature, including case series of three or more patients.

Hemiplegic migraine (HM) is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous condition with attacks of headache and motor weakness which may be associated with impaired consciousness, cerebellar ataxia and intellectual disability. Motor symptoms usually last <72 hours and are associated with visual or sensory manifestations, speech impairment or brainstem aura. HM can occur as a sporadic HM or familiar HM with an autosomal dominant mode of inheritance.

Background: Masked uncontrolled hypertension (MUCH), that is, nonhypertensive clinic but high out-of-office blood pressure (BP) in treated patients is at increased cardiovascular risk than controlled hypertension (CH), that is, nonhypertensive clinic and out-of-office BP. Using ambulatory BP, MUCH can be defined as daytime and/or nighttime and/or 24-hour BP above thresholds. It is unclear whether different definitions of MUCH have similar prognostic information.
